I don't really like the 16 origin since, while it's not contradictory, it does strongly clash with implications from the original. 16's personality was originally implied to be his biggest flaw, not something Gero deliberately designed (which would be incredibly stupid, since it made 16 turn on Gero's greatest invention).
Same with the power thing. In the original series it was said that Gero focused less on less on the Androids powers because it made them harder to control (as with 17 and 16) and now instead Gero just put more effort into 16's power because he loved him.
I liked the new information about Makai/the M symbol, don't particularly care about the Androids names since it's so irrelevant, and dislike almost everything else he had to say in the Full Colour Comics release. Oh wait, I kind of like that Android 19 was based of a doll.

One thing I dislike is how Toriyama is trying to make the Saiyans seem less like blood thirsty assholes who got what was coming to them in the long run because of a psychopathic tyrant who feared a legend that had to do with them. I don't like the idea that Goku is only a good guy because of his mother.
Bardock being sent back in time and starting the legend of the Super Saiyan? I can totally buy that somehow happening, even if it is a bit ridiculous, but he is not a heroic or even a good person. He's only slightly better then the typical Saiyan, but he is still a genocide causing bloodthirsty Saiyan whose attempt to save his race from an ironic end doesn't wash the blood off of his hands.
I think Toriyama should stop trying to retcon stuff that didn't need retconing and is fine the way it is, even if he didn't write Episode of Bardock, stuff like Dragon Ball Minus doesn't need to exist.

Babidi being Bibidi's clone is a new one on me, but I can kind of see it. Always found it a little hard to believe that a guy as evil as Bibidi managed to procreate. Looks aside, the dude was playing with Sealed Evil in a Can.
He could have reproduced asexuality. Which is just like the clone, but doesn't contradict the manga.
Or, since he's a madoushi, just mated with someone just as ugly looking and evil as he is since he's from an Always Chaotic Evil race. Your standards don't really make any sense to apply to him.

Sort of? He's from an alternate universe rather than Hell, so despite being named Demon King and clearly inspired by the devil, he's more like the Frieza of another universe than the all-powerful ruler of Hell.
Like most anime, any Christian portrayals appearing in Dragon Ball are there for coolness factor more than anything.
Babidi couldn't even control Fat Buu, who was the easiest one to control arguably.
That's a level of fail that you couldn't achieve if you trained for it.
I'm not so sure about that. Fat Buu has a childlike temperament which is extremely dangerous when coupled with his incredible power. Children are not that easy to control, especially when you lack the ability to discipline them in any reasonable fashion.
Pure Buu has the benefit of being a mindless force of destruction with no will or desires or personality of its own. As mindless destruction is all Bibidi wanted out of Pure Buu, he didn't have to control him. Simply aiming him and staying out of the way will suffice.
Bibidi never had to worry about the possibility of his Majin Buu growing a conscience, or getting distracted by candy, or growing resentful of their relationship to each other.
That's actually something that bugs me. Vegeta is easily the most evil of the four surviving Saiyans, yet Nappa and Raditz die and nobody gives any further shits about them while Vegeta gets to join the protagonists and turn his life around.
The movie Fusion Reborn even makes a point of having Vegeta re-kill Nappa after all the villains escape from Hell, as if Nappa was ever anything more evil than Vegeta's pet thug in the first place.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. That was in GT, and that's an inaccurate way to put it. Nappa obviously wasn't Just Following Orders - he's a Saiyan, and he enjoyed what he did. He also did evil acts on his own initiative like blowing up East City without provocation, or attacking those cities in GT.
Vegeta killing Nappa isn't about Nappa being evil, Vegeta's even a dick about it. Put Nappa and a whole bunch of villains are still going around killing innocent people and they needed to be stopped.
Hrrrm. I could see a few:
- Raditz's arrival, since it's the game changer from Dragonball to Dragonball Z - And the floodgate to the revelation of Goku's origin, and in turns ties to Piccolo's origin, which in turns leads to the Namek arc. Raditz to Freeza form an almost continuous storyline, each following from the other (You could extend to the androids but that's mostly dealt with in a few episodes).
- Goku meets Master Roshi - It's another big introduction, but it's also what gets Goku on the path to mastering martial arts and taking part of the tournament. Roshi meeting Goku and offering him to train him when the dragonballs are found is what sets the show's formula, because it moves away from the "Sorta Journey To The West" to what the show is known for.
- Goku's arrival on Namek: The show spends the entire (long) Namek arc establishing how the heroes are over their head with Freeza alone. Then the Ginyu show up, and finally, after all the waiting Goku finally show up... Goku pretty much one shots Recoome and the purple guy.
- Goku Vs Nappa: Same as above. Done earlier.
Eh, they've already done two Vegeta moments that look cool but mean fuck-all. Why get three?
My various fanfics. It's not #2 place cool though. Hell, Gohan going SS 2 for the first time is way cooler than Final Flash will ever be.

Improving as an author, one video at a time.

Though I do like knowing 18's real name and the origin of 16.
Hmm... Was 16 just physically based on Gero's son, or did he also have the
desire to murder Son Gokusimilar personality, such as bird watching?edited 22nd Dec '14 12:55:41 AM by wanderlustwarrior
