Had Goku never gone to Earth then yes, all of this would be true, but that has nothing to do with Goku's choice. He didn't wish himself out of existence. He just chose to remain dead. All of the impact that his life has had continues to exist. If his existence is a threat to the Earth, then that ship has sailed, and the most responsible thing he can do is be there to clean up his mess.
The villain doesn't cease to exist just because the hero leaves.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I wonder if they're going to find some way to keep F. Trunks around for a few minor appearances (that is, give him an excuse to appear in a few more scenes) after he actually leaves the plot for humor's sake - like how they did with Nappa and are currently doing with Nail and Kami.
On a similar note, does anyone else think the whole series is going to end with a Brick Joke about Raditz breaking out of Hell or something?

TFS has shown a lot of impressive editing prowess. (Just look at the Season 2 The Stinger.)
I think he and Nappa both are going to have a Dying Moment of Awesome against Buu. Wouldn't really take much — even if they got just hit with the Human Extinction Attack, all it would take is a few frames. Bam, both a Brick Joke and a Tear Jerker.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerGoku couldn't actually be revived at the end of the Cell arc anyway, not without a trip to new Namek - which can't be feasibly done without Goku alive.
And I stand by Gohan's anger as being nonsensical. It's not enough to explain it as being irrational (and I don't think it's supposed to be irrational anyway given Kaiser Neko's opinions on the matter) because hardly anything has even happened at that point and it's not even consistent - Gohan shows no other signs of resenting being with Piccolo (quite the contrary) he demanded to go into space and told Chichi to STFU when she said no - Goku wasn't even part of that decision, at any point. It's not just irrational on his part but on the writer's side as well because none of it adds up. And then he'll randomly be super excited to see Goku, and then this episode he's pissed off at even being compared to him.
Again, I don't think it's intended to be irrational. Not with the running theme of Goku not caring about him and Piccolo acting as his "real" father (despite the fact that the only fatherly thing Piccolo ever does is beat him).
It's less that Gohan hates his father. Is more that he is completely different of his father and don't want to be like Goku nor see him as a role model. It's no wonder that his "battle clothing" is a tailor-made replica of Piccolo's, then a Sayan Armor, then another Piccolo's replica, then another sayan armor, then Bulma asks him "would you rather fight cell with another armor? or with a uniform like your dad's?" and he aswer asking for another Piccolo replica this time with the cape. He just think Piccolo is a better role model, because he acts way more Papa Wolf towards Gohan than Goku ever did (for lack of opportunity, but that doesn't matter.), and Because Piccolo rarely fights for the sake of fighting (he was the only one that heard about the androids that didn't shout "I want to wait and fight then instead of saving the Earth the proper way), and Gohan doesn't enjoy fighting. Also Piccolo is rational and intelligent, and Gohan has academic ambitions and respects Piccolo's intelligence.
So it's not that he hates his father. He would just prefer that his father would come back to Earth instead of "No. I rather stay in the fight agains Freeza in a condemned Planet, because that's what I enjoy." and then after the fight coming back to Earth instead of playing teleportation with some random aliens for two years. And he would prefer that when he came back he didn't say "hey, let's spend the next three years training for fighting.".
So yes, of course he would prefer to not be like Goku when he grows up, and when Trunks says he does he doesn't like.
I'm sure Gohan loves both his Dad and Piccolo, but it doesn't really change the fact that the latter has been in his life more than the former.
Goku doesn't intentionally try to be a bad parent...he's just an idiot, a well meaning idiot, but an idiot nonetheless.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Gohan is happy and excited to see his father because he loves his father and wants him to be around. Gohan is resentful and bitter towards his father when he isn't around, because he wants him to be around. I really don't see the contradiction here; this is pretty standard Neglected Child behavior.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I think Gohan also harbors a resentment against Goku because he's in many ways the opposite of what Gohan is/wants to be. Goku is a food-obsessed illiterate moron; Gohan is studying calculus and quantum mechanics at the age of 8-9. Goku trains all the time and lets threats get stronger so that he can enjoy fighting them; Gohan studies and tries to be a normal child when he can and tries to deal with threats as soon as possible. Goku surpasses his mentors and saves them from threats; Gohan struggles to keep up with his mentors and is constantly being saved by them. Goku likes to fight; Gohan doesn't.

Well, that state takes the Blood Knight tendencies of the regular Super Saiyan form, and scales it up even further, the way it does with every other aspect of the Super Saiyan state. This is your brain on Super Saiyan 2, basically. It's why Gohan was pleading with Cell not to make him tap into that power.
I have a message from another time...Gohan wasn't enjoying letting Cell suffer. He was torturing him because he thought he deserved it, for being the monster he was. And he saw the error of his ways the instant Goku sacrificed himself to save the Earth from Cell. (from that point on his respect for his dad increases a lot. Teaching the kamehameha to Goten, something Future Gohan didn't teach Future Trunks for instance). After that he came back on being Normal Gohan and just wanted to finish the battle quickly. And after that he stopped training at all, and spend seven whole years not involving himself in battles.

He most certainly was enjoying it. He may have also thought he deserved it, and you could say he was right about it, but the smile on he had on his face when the beating really started says it all.
Plus, it was stated transforming into a super saiyan and then super saiyan 2 ups a saiyan's natural blood lust.
Apparently from the news video that just came out we'll be getting Revenge of Cooler Abridged sometime in the future. Also although it's not relevant to DBZA, Team Four Star did have to drop Attack on Titan Abridged due to legal stuff.
I didn't really like it, but it's still a bummer that it was Screwed by the Lawyers.
Oh well. Keep Circulating the Tapes.

Because the dub is being released now, and Funimation doesn't want it to detract from the original run.

And, as I forgot to mention, Buu threw all that reasoning in his face, which may be why he's alive at the end of DBZ, training another (who isn't his son...)
