Didn't Ginyu end up inside Bulma while on Earth

That happened on Namek, and then it got undone. It only worked because Bulma made a frog!translator, because apparently Ginyu's body change is limited by the target being able to understand him.

So? This show loves using filler.

...What's wrong with filler anyway?

Actually, the Android's lack of drive is kind of endearing, in a weird sort of way.

To me it always kind of evoked the question of "what if they actually tried?" The answer being Future!Trunks' timeline, most likely, but still.

The androids of Trunks's timeline seem to have the same motivations as the one in the main timeline, from what we see of them: they're bored and want to do stuff. Asserting the androids from the main timeline must have a different set of morals seems unnecessary; it's not like they're the only characters in the show who, had new complications not been introduced into their lives, would be evil mass murderers.

Piccolo, for instance, didn't have to be replaced with a new Piccolo who considered trust and friendship to be important values to become one of the gang; in a future where he never had to ally with Goku's crew, raise Gohan, and learn a father's love, he would still be the Evil Demon King, plotting to kill Goku and take over the world.

There are plenty of ways Vegeta could have gone on to become tomorrow's Frieza if he'd succeeded in his ambitions of becoming immortal.

The same person can become two entirely different people depending on what roads they go down in their life.

That's actually not true at all. Piccolo Junior was less evil from the beginning, just from being a different being. He wasn't the same person Daimao was, despite sharing his soul, and was redeemed because of that. This is pointed out by God when Raditz' soul moves onto the afterlife - which means he's not a demon, nor as evil as the old Daimao was. And that's before he trained Gohan. Furthermore, Goku already tells Gohan that Junior wasn't as bad as Daimao before the Saiyan arc even begins.

I just wonder why the Androids didn't try to go out into space. There's a galactic empire out there with its rulers just having been destroyed by the guy you easily beat. Why not just go and take over the rest of the galaxy if you've got nothing better to do?

[up][up][up]You know, why didn't he? At the end of the Frieza arc, he's on earth with 2 sets of draonballs, and as far as he knows, Goku is dead, and he's the strongest being left in the universe. Whats stopping him from just waiting around and demanding to be allowed to wish for immortality?

They're teenagers. The "Future Trunks timeline" Androids live in a world where they could do whatever they want and no one to tell them no.

...Can they breath in space? Cell got juice from Frieza so he can, but I dunno about 17 and 18.

Aren't they cyborgs? I don't think they could breath in space. I know they are called Androids but I've heard their is debate amongst translators.

They're called Androids because that's the closest English equivalent to the Japanese term Jinzoningen (lit: Artificial Human). It's noted to be inaccurate in-series when talking about 17 and 18, who are actually cyborgs (which would be Kaizoningen, lit: Modified Human).

Gero planned to blow up the earth with 16, so he likely included a way for his androids to survive the vacuum of space.

He is, although I don't think that was noted by any of the characters.

[up] Never is it even suggested that Gero had 16 plan that.

unnoun Since: Jan, 2012
#6371: Apr 8th 2014 at 7:12:38 PM

He might have intended Cell to do that. Cell's self-destruct is designed not to kill him, but to injure him enough for a Zenkai when he heals.

Saiga Since: Feb, 2011 Relationship Status: Getting away with murder
#6372: Apr 8th 2014 at 7:14:56 PM

That was a fluke by Cell's admission, not a design plan.

#6373: Apr 8th 2014 at 7:17:31 PM

Huh. I could have sworn there was a whole rant thing about how it proved what Gero said about him being the ultimate being or whatever, how he can travel the universe and not die and get endlessly stronger.

Saiga Since: Feb, 2011 Relationship Status: Getting away with murder
#6374: Apr 8th 2014 at 7:25:05 PM

Yeah, but it wasn't "look what Gero planned" but "look what just happened". It was a fluke, but for a fluke to do that is enough to tell Cell he's totally perfect now and not before when Gohan was beating him up so that totally doesn't count.

16's bomb was a last resort to kill Goku. Gero hated him that much.

I kinda wonder why 16 is willing to blow up on Cell and destroy the earth, if he loves life so much. I guess it'd be sacrificing earth for the rest of the universe, but it still seems sorta odd.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
