And even that's because he can just regenerate. Though, I do wonder whether the explosion was so much the earth itself exploding, or just the energy ball exploding and obliterating the earth in the process. That would make a big difference.
Also, non-canon, but Broly survived the Saiyan genocide as a child just by erecting a barrier around himself, even at a power level of only 10,000.
Oh, yeah, I always forget that Frieza would have logically had to been caught in the Namek explosion.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! As Vegeta said: "Power Levels are bullshit!"
Or atleast giving them numbers.
And how many times have some characters had their "hidden, true power" drawn out of them? Gohan had that happen twice. So Gohan apparently reached his Level Cap twice. Wheres the sense in that?
Overall, I have come to accept that most anime doesn't even try to make sense, even when following their own rules. The screw their own rules on a seasonoal basis.

I guess, half a person or not, a power level of 120,000,000 is strong enough to not even be further harmed by a mere planetary explosion? Goku would still need to escape thanks to being hurled into space where he can't breathe, but I don't think the explosion itself would hurt him.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! You guys forget one major thing. Goku is a Blood Knight and he'd never do it because he wants to fight the bad guys, even if something like that would be the smart choice, Goku would never do it and neither would Vegeta.

The surface of the sun is "only" about 10,000 degrees.
The center is over 1,000,000
