Goku as an awkward high school student who gets bullied and spends his days yearning for the attention of a girl he likes just feels wrong. That's Goku In Name Only. That isn't even true to the spirit of the character; a naïve, brain-damaged outsider with no social skills, raised in the wild, with a passion for violence tempered only by having the part of his brain responsible for malice and grudge-holding bashed out by a rock. The West may have no idea who the Monkey King is, but we still have cultural counterparts. Goku is an exceptionally violent yet morally innocent Tarzan.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I was asking my parents this: Why is it that Yugioh Abridged got flagged constantly on youtube while Dragonball hasn't had that much trouble?
My father's a fan of both shows but he's not sure himself. Brought up the question due to the Internet Aristocrat's recent "Cis-Scum" video being flagged a lot to the point that it was taken off the site and he had to upload the video to his Daily Motion account just like Little Kuriboh.
less music use maybe?i think YGO Abridged uses more OS Ts and songs.
Yugioh license holder are probably more squeamish about it too.
Nor will it likely be the last.
A thought I just had: how awesome would it be if 18 breaks out a version of the "you're boring me" speech that Goku used on Freeza just before snapping Vegeta's arm?
The blow to Vegeta's Super Saiyan pride alone would make it a Pass the Popcorn moment.
Also, for those who haven't been keeping up with the TFS gaming channel, they have a bunch of new uploads there, including another couple of episodes of Krillin playing Outlast.

| Wandering, but not lost. | If people bring so much courage to this world...◊ |You know, all through the Namek Saga, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Goku and Freeza's confrontation. Freeza deserved Goku, and I firmly expected it to be the most awesome thing ever.
And then it was, and I was thrilled.

Yeah, because you don't have any of those cough*Orihime*cough.
The next episode is going to be out earlier than usually, which is nice, but I wonder why? The cynic in me says that after it comes out they're going to get a lot of bitching afterwards to have each episode come out as fast as this one.

No, I'm not complaining about it being different. I'm complaining about it being bad.
The movie was an awkward mess. A lot of adaptations have worked just fine despite changing a lot of things because they had a good, solid vision behind them and recognized what basic ideas from the source material were needed to make the who thing gel. DB:E randomly crammed a bunch of names and elements from DB into a stock Hollywood formula with no regard for how any of it fit together. Goku being a physically bullied high school student despite being an incredibly skilled martial artist is just plain stupid, and would have been just as stupid if it was an original movie without the DB name attached to it.
And given the success the MCU has had with non-fans, I don't see why a *good* DB movie couldn't have attracted non-fans as well.
