So Basically, for Goku, Defeat Means Friendship for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, just not for GT?

They never explained what happened to 17 after that. Was he revived after Cell was killed? If so, why didn't he return as a fighter on friendlier terms?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987He was killed in the same blast that killed Goku and King Kai, and was subsequently revived by their wish to bring Cell's victims back. He just went away to live a peaceful life of seclusion rather than join up with them. He clearly considers himself on good terms with them, at least, if his contribution to Goku's Spirit Bomb is any indication (And GT having him deliberately let Goku kill him as Super 17).
I wonder WHERE 17 appeared when he was revived. He was killed on King Kai's planet, after all...

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice."Olly olly oxen bitch!"
I'll get my ass kicked for it, but I'm using this somewhere.
Amazing, Team Four Star used that Namek joke three times already and it's still funny as hell. That scene with Gero throwing that one back at Piccolo was just mean.
So, wants to guess the quirks for 16, 17, and 18?
I keep thinking Dr. Girlfriend for 18 and either HK-47 or a Dalek for 16.
Lafayette StrongMy pet theory: He resuscitated in that fountain over by Capsule Corp. The one that Yamcha spawned in when he was resurrected just after Namek exploded, immediately after they discussed the fact that Goku can't be resurrected because you pop back to life where your body is, and for Goku, that was the depths of space.
Yamcha is too incompetent to follow metaphysical laws of existence that were just explained five seconds ago.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Why wouldn't he? The drone bug that gathered genetic samples for use in Cell was different from the one that Gero used to spy on Goku, and the Cell-bug wasn't destroyed until Piccolo's first meeting with Cell.
EDIT: Remember, Gero didn't create Cell personally, he came up with the idea and then created a computer that created Cell. So what Gero knows about doesn't necessarily limit what the computer (which has its own sample-gathering drone bug) knows about.
EDIT II: Someone more intimately familiar with the Dragonball/DBZ canon can feel free to elaborate on/correct me, but I distinctly remember all of this being explained by Cell himself shortly after his first appearance.

No matter how many Big Green Dub clips I see, it still never fails to amaze me that someone produced that seriously. Least. Intimidating. Cell. Ever.
Also, Trunks, props for trying a Badass Boast there, but next time, would it hurt to use one that actually makes sense?

It was psychic powers. He was beaten by being challenged to do math equations.
