I believe it's been stated that Toriyama himself likes Super Saiyan 4.
And like, Kirran pointed out that he even drew it one time. He'll probably never use it, cause that's how he rolls (and he seems to be sticking to his never draw tails ever again mandate), but he does seem to like it.
I also like it for it's visual distinctiveness.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm also in the "Super Saiyan 4 is pretty cool" crowd. GT is shit, but the idea behind Super Saiyan 4 is killer.
Ultimately, Super Saiyan 4 and the God/Blue forms are functionally very different from one another. God/Blue are beginnings. They're gateway forms that act as Goku and Vegeta's means to cross into the realm of the gods. They open the door to another level of fighting, giving Goku and Vegeta new playgrounds to fight around in and new tiers to surpass.
Super Saiyan 4 is an ending. It's a final celebration of everything that Saiyans are, to close the book on Goku and Vegeta's story.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Yeah, if SS4's fur was the same color as the Oozaru and the hair was just the same color as base, that would be better. Instead, fur and hair color both seem to be totally random and based on the Saiyan in question.
Honestly, I LOVE the CGI auras of the god forms in modern Dragon Ball. I think they look great and that was the only thing that I didn't like about the Broly movie, was that it toned down the auras to look more flat.
TBH, Goku and Vegeta had consistent with each other SSJ 4 designs. It is Gogeta the one to just go "eh, fuck it". Still, Vegeta had green eyes just because, but, gotta go with Goku's golden ones, specially after Broly.
Gotta agree that God's fiery aura, Blue's chunky aura, and Ultra Instinct's aurora are great to look at.

So we should be expect a Baby Vegito Black in Heroes by the end of the year.
