It feels like both wants to go back to that, but won't fully commit to it either and falls back into old patterns given the chance.
I wonder if the Buu Saga would have been a tighter ship if he'd had his old editor dictating things again.
Then again, that's what led to Cell being so schizophrenic too, so maybe that's not a good thing.
One Strip! One Strip!"Dictating" - I mean, he was his former editor at the time. It wasn't editorial mandates making him schizophrenic with the Androids, it was the feedback of a peer.
Unless you mean the stuff with Cell's forms in which case... honestly I'm pretty okay with that. Semi-Perfect Cell is stupid and seeking perfection provides him with much more of an arc.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Right, then I'll somewhat amend my statement: So if Toriyama's old editor was giving him feedback on Buu the same way he did the Android/Cell Arc.
Would we have seen Buu get kicked out for a completely new and more powerful villain?
One Strip! One Strip!@The Tourmament Fight:
I always thought it was a fun scene parallel, Gohan / Videl watching Videl / Gohan get tortured in the ring, and being the only ones to try and jump in and try to stop the brutality (well, Krillin tries to jump in and save Gohan in the anime), while the others - particularly Goku - both do nothing and specifically rein them in.
Really makes everyone look like an asshole. And makes Shin look like a whole idiot in retrospect.

That dance is spectacular. I'll brook no debate on this.

It really does make them look like assholes, even knowing that Gohan would be alright
I know shitting on Shin is fashionable now, and he did screw up when he didn't pay enough attention to what was going on on Earth, but to be fair, it wasn't his fault that Buu woke up. The plan was simple: let Gohan get drained, follow the drainers to Babidi, and then beat up Babidi. Did he badly miscalculate in a number of places (Gohan's power, as well as Dabura being there? Yeah, you bet your ass he did.
But none of that would have mattered if they'd just fought as a team and swept the place instead on insisting on one on one fights, to say nothing of Vegeta and Goku prioritizing their grudge match at the vital moment.
The plan was flawed, but could have still worked.
One Strip! One Strip!Super Boo isn't Cell.
Super Boo (Gotenks Absorbed) is basically Cell.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.
Evil boo(after absorving fat buu) is prettu much cell at first, them he become more and more after absorving more people, by the time he absorve piccoro and gothems he do act like cell, having coherent toughs and conversation and even strategy.
but in general I like boo because the sheer range of technique he have at hand, it feel very unconvencional at times.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Normal Super Buu is still more primal and violent than Cell seemed to be. (But he did have the foresight to prepare for Gohan and the ability to sense his power across the universe)
Once he absorbs people he does become more like Cell, but I did enjoy how the anime also added mental abuse to his repertoire when he battled Gohan.
Also he still had his childish outbursts.

I heard there used to be an abridged version of this show. I made a thread about it.

The thing we all wanted to hear (no, not a revival, not THAT one).

Saiya-girl was anime only apparently.
It's what I'd have liked for her to do, but Videl is just another great concept that got dropped.
