That's kind of a weird question. Just because canon facts are stupid doesn't mean they aren't canon facts.
I personally think it's stupid that Goku jumped from 90k BP to 3 million BP from a single zenkai. But he did do that. That's canon.

These behind the scenes things are making me wonder if they could do the Buu Saga in the Kai Abridged style, with just a rapid-fire procession of whatever jokes they could come up with. I'm sure the answer is 'probably not', but I can dream, right?

jamie-b-good.tumblr.comThere is a lot of material in the Buu arc that would have been great to see adapted. Goku refusing to jump in and fight Dabura because it's Gohan's turn. Vegeta resisting Babidi's mind control via Pure Unadulterated Badass. Pretty much every moment of Kaioshin playing the Straight Man to these impossibly powerful Saiyans. Vegeta confronting Goku about withholding Super Dee Duper Saiyan from him during their fight. Etc. etc.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a small sliver of hope in the back of my mind that maybe some day, when the team feels refreshed, when they're in a better place financially and emotionally, and when the internet is a less hostile place for fanworks, maybe some day they might get an inkling to come back to it.
But that's wishful thinking. TFS did amazing work with the series to this point, and I honestly think most people would agree that they actually got a lot farther than anyone ever thought they would have. Regardless of what Ben might think, DBZA is a shimmering masterpiece; pretty much the apex of Abridging as an art form. I've got no hard feelings against the team for calling it here, and I'm grateful that they pushed themselves to reach this point in the first place.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Was watching a video and some guys started talking about the French openings to anime, (they're from Quebec) and how the openings sucked because they sounded like they were aimed at small children and, well, here's the French opening to Dragonball Z.
Wow, that opening really emphasizes Gohan as the absolute 100% main character.
Also, following a link from it, I found the original JP opening in HD. And while I was watching it, I noticed something.
At about the 0:42 mark, there's a chunk of a glacier that breaks off and falls into the ocean.
The f*ck is that about? At no point in the post-Raditz series does any high-stakes destructive battle take place on a glacier. Like. At all. In fact, I'm pretty sure Muscle Tower, Toei's Super Android 13 film, and Dragon Ball Super: Broly are the only points of the series period where an arctic region is featured.
I guess the Dragon Ball OP decided to take a moment away from hyping up Dragon Ball to remind us all that climate change is coming for us. In 1989, which was awfully prophetic of them.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. There's a shot of Gohan, Bulma, Roshi, Puar and Oolong escaping a Dino (1:18), which unless there's some filler I've forgotten, also never happens in the show.
So ya know, I wouldn't fret about the glacier.
In fact kinda funny that Roshi is in the final "team shot" with the title, but Piccolo isn't. Made even funnier by Goku landing and obscuring Tien and Chaotzu from view. The story of their life right there.

Somebody thought it looked cool. One of the openings of the Bleach anime had Histugaya fighting Ishida despite that never happening in the show.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Generic fighting shots make more sense than a shot of a glacier falling.

- Why did Hercule being a tournament champion make him stronger than Krillin specifically? By that logic he'd also be stronger than Yamcha, Gohan, Piccolo - most of the people there.
- Everything Cell said about Hercule was implied to be accurate... so why did Satan take offense to him calling Videl an orphan? Did Miguel not exist at the time Episode 56 came out?
- How did Goku make the afterimage go through Cell.
- Why was Goku so turned on by Cell? He wasn't that turned on by Frieza.
- "Chunny-china-chinese chicken" from Episode 58. Cell says it. WTF.
- How did Yamcha record a song for a cat food commercial? Wasn't he a desert bandit? Isn't this man wanted by Johnny Law, or was he just the most unsuccessful bandit ever?
- Chi-Chi told Goku that "fighting unabated will make you grow hair on your eyes." Clearly Goku misunderstood what Cell was saying but... was that just a nonsense line, or was there another joke in Goku's response?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!When I think of that iceberg falling apart in the opening, I think of World's Strongest before Android 13.
You know that shot of the hand being rendered digitally, then being given nerves, and then becoming a fully realized flesh and blood hand before doing a Ki blase? That was a reference to the androids, right?
And speaking of openings, in the English dub version, most of the footage is taken from the first three movies, but at the end there are shots from the series proper, including one of Vegeta turning super Saiyan in front of an outer space backdrop. I could never figure out when that shot appears in the show.
Growing hair on your eyes is one of many ridiculous things that some parents use to warn their children away from masturbation.
Goku misunderstood "Unabated" as "Masturbated", is the joke. Chi-Chi doesn't want Goku to masturbate.
Frieza wasn't fightsexual the way that Goku and Cell are.
It's a lyric from the Barenaked Ladies song, "One Week".

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.....you know, it suddenly dawns on me that that line could be seen as a bit racist.
....I need to change the subject here: How did Goku make his after image go through Cell?
One Strip! One Strip!Afterimages don't have any solid mass.

Didn't really ever come up in the story at all...
