And that's all that comes from TFS in that context.
I don't want to stir drama up, but, yeah, love project is love project. I get the feeling Ben was pragmatic in the part that should had been idealistic (content perspectives), and idealistic in the part that should had been pragmatic (company goals).

I mean, I feel like he just said the same thing: the reason why TFS made the work is different from the reason the audience responded to the work. The fact that the audience ever responded to the work in the first place was something of a happy accident.
Which is a fine thing when you're making art for art's sake, working on your novel in the evenings or jamming out with your garage band on the weekends or whatever. It's less fine when you're expecting your audience to support your business so you can keep signing your employees' paychecks.
I think that's a statement who's a lot less easy to make about an entire audience than a single person. people enjoy thing for different reasons. The matter isn't whether or not some people liked TFS's approach to abrdiging, (it's not like the feedback on the series got worse over time), but whether there are enough of those people to support them.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Sure, but the response wasn't, "Well, we understand that some segments of the audience would have preferred a more regular release schedule, but other segments really responded more strongly to a perfectionist, 'it's done when it's done' approach."
That response might even have been true, but that wasn't the response they gave. The response was, "We're not thinking about what the audience needs. We're thinking about what we need. This isn't about the audience, this is about us."
That's not a great mindset to have right when you're shutting down your flagship show and hoping to find something else the audience will respond as strongly to.

Yeah, i can see where you're going - I want to say that it's pretty normal for them as human beings to fail at making that move in the position they are, that this is a very human mistake, in short, but I also agree that what you said would be the actually smart thing to do.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."I mean, we already are in it.
But we should probably stop.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. That's what we're saying. TFS isn't just a machine to put out DBZA, it's a full-scale production house now, so even if you only watched for DBZ there are plenty of other things you can watch on there, to say nothing of supporting each member when they also stream on Twitch. I watch Zito a lot, for instance.
There's nothing wrong with Let's Plays and Twitch streams if that's what you're into, but it doesn't take a "full-scale production house" to make them.
I think it would be more accurate to say that Team Four Star has ambitions toward becoming a full-scale production house, but judging by their actual production output, they're not actually there.

Yet. They've already got a great reputation (even if Toei's blacklisted them from working with Funimation on anything Dragon Ball-related) and they weren't just approached to do the Hells dub for no reason. Even if it's not something they thought they wanted to keep doing, I'm sure their original stuff will be good too.
Considering their track record— they've been vaguely promising "original works" since they started their Patreon what, like four years ago?— I'd be less concerned with quality and more concerned with whether such works will ever actually materialize.
I am open to being pleasantly surprised, but at this point it WOULD be a surprise.

I think Unabridged ep1 should be out this year. And then there's Taka's AWF (Kaiser mentioned they filmed a whole season and it's in editing and they like to have a preview before the end of the year). I think Kirran and Grant are doing something and Masako is pitching a thing so there's stuff to see eventually.
Burning love!What's AWF?
Cause the first thought I had is Animal Wrestling Federation....WHICH MEANS THEY STOLE MY IDEA!
One Strip! One Strip!Taka's wrestling project. More about their projects here:

So it is a Wrestling thing. And a parody too. It seems like it's not using animals, but I also had a version of the idea without animals, so they've still beaten me too it.
Curse my slowness...and lack of funds...and everything else.
High Crate, do you have anything else to talk about? Because this seems to be the only subject you want to entertain and it’s not really productive.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Well at least Genma got what he deserves. His son hates him and generally does everything he can to spite him, his wife hates him and is searching for him for kidnapping her son at a young age and will kill him if she find him because of what he has done, and so many other issues including the Panda issue. Even his best friend barely can stand him at times.
Goku... yeah... he is still everyone's hero.

Specifically what wigs me out is 'I should have made the decision for them'. Because, well, no, that's not what he should've done. It would've been a bad move to force them to close the book on DBZA without knowing for sure that they couldn't do it. Just as it was a mistake to make them commit to season 4 being a thing despite not being certain it was going to happen.
