That's the speed problem. I figure being able to out and out teleport would be a good way to compensate for your opponent being faster. I mean:
Teleportation is a pretty good potential counter for Super-Speed...in theory, but....
Wait. Didn't Goku only teleport maybe one or two times. Hell, we see clips of him using Instants Transmission to slip away from Cell during that video...not that's I'm doubting you. Of course having a higher power level would trump any technique. That's Dragonball.
Plus, I imagine if Goku still had a potential way to win without being stronger, there would have been zero point in brining in Gohan, so that's just Toriyama both covering his bases and cutting off the branches as he usually does. He's thorough like that.
One Strip! One Strip!Oh right. Even if he's not doing the fingers (GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER!) he still has to concentrate.
I'll say this for Toriyama: if a technique has a drawback, it sticks. It's not normally something that can be completely phased out. Though that also adds to the problem of shrinking the value of some techniques while just raise your power level further cements itself as the only solution to any problem.
It's a shame though about that: you'd think he wouldn't need to concentrate for someone right in front of him.
One Strip! One Strip! For context, no. 6 is Last BlastFinal Flash. Flashy as hell, iconic moment, memorable pose, and a big ass laser but yeah, other than that, FF has a horrendous charge time, remain stationary while charging, and for all that energy emitted, Geets never beats anyone with it.
And just to iterate, yes, dragons make everything better! And this is coming from one born on Super Tuesday 1988.
Burning love! The scope is all that matters since Cell let him charge it...
It's not like...Veggie was ever gonna use Final Flash again.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.FF is a stupidly impractical technique, but I really like how Vegeta played to Cell's ego to goad him into not dodging.
Similarly he goaded Goku into not dodging by threatening the Earth with his Galick Gun.
Clearly, any RPG that gives distinct roles to the characters should make Vegeta the tank - beyond his freakish durability he also packs plenty of taunt skills.
x3 Woah, are you saying Veggie is actually pretty tactical?
And...his main tactical ability is taunting?
I'd be so much more interested for him to win fights if he did that more.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.A good "taunter" shouldn't be easily taunted in return. I think of Roy Mustang in FMA (first series) as a good example, not Vegeta. Cell taunts him into letting him go Perfect. Babidi talks him into throwing away everything.
It seems Vegeta has gotten a *lot* better in this regard, though. Lesson was sorely learned with Buu killing him/Goku holding back SS 3/Piccolo telling him his improvement over Z wasn't enough.
Prior to dying to Buu, Vegeta had a quick trigger and a quicker temper, so I wouldn't call him a tactical taunter. Afterwards, I could see it being possible, but I haven't seen enough Super to know if he even bothers with taunting anymore.
Weird how both moves have this electric charge up aesthetic...
With Garrick Gun it's the aura that's electric-like.
With Conclusion Coruscation it's the beam itself that has an electric look.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.....Listen here son. We don't need any fancy talk around these parts.
One Strip! One Strip! If we're still talking RPG, I've seen that sometimes: aggro-centered characters who in turn get aggro'd themselves by doing it, basically locking themselves and half the enemies in place. They need loads of health, though.

I mean yeah I just assumed Dragon Fist is a ki technique and Goku was inspired by Shenron is making the shape for it.
It's kind of weird how detailed it is, and it's hard to see why Goku was inspired to make the move in the first place, but I don't think the technique is fundamentally strange.
