I adored Goku and Gohan's "I don't get involved until things are at their worst. So we're waiting for Vegeta." Especially the fact Goku says it too.

Also loved the porn videos on the pornhub page.

Hence "Well, I'll get stronger, right?" followed by "Yeah... but no." He gets stronger, but it doesn't end up mattering much because he doesn't succeed with that power.

I didn't find 3 all that funny. The joke about the soundtracks is easily lost on most. The Frieza joke ran for too long. The cunt joke was meh. The MHA jokes were out of left field. Cell whistling All Star, Gero, and 17's lines were the saving grace.

3.5 either had better jokes or just better timing. Plus Alucard. I laughed harder.

That and I really don't care for the the MHA jokes and I hope they don't continue.

They MHA joke was about as random as the Naruto and One Piece dream, so they didn't exactly have to connect.

The soundtrack debate wasn't a joke, it was just a typical soundtrack argument copy-pasted.

It's unfunny and uninspired is what I mean.

[up]Compared to the other Kai episodes. These two episodes felt like a normal episode covering more stuff.

Really? I thought the Rapid-Fire Comedy was super fast in 3.5, to the point that I had to pause multiple times to catch my breath.

They're just as short to be sure.

But they aren't doing sped up delivery and skipping as much.

For me thus far is: 2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>1=3.5>3.

Not counting 2.9 because that's pretty much just a regular episode.

I like 2 the most followed by a three-way tie between 1, 3 and 3.5.

Amd 3 and 3.5's pace definitely seem slower compared to the first two. They're just less rapid-fire compared to the first two.

Burning love!

He gets stronger the way Krillin got stronger on Namek.

At least Gohan got to show his new strength for a little bit. It was narratively pointless but, still, he got to kill Buu around for a chapter or something. Kuririn didn't even get that. He went from the weaker guy in any fight they were in to still being the weaker guy in any fight they were in. No change whatsoever.

Anyway, wasn't much fan of this Kai either. A couple of funny moments but mostly just kinda boring.

[up]Funnily enough, Kuririn's popularity kind of revolves around his Memetic Loser status.

Hence no one really being bothered by him jobbing.

I mean, of course the thing about Krillin is that he never managed to become strong enough for us to take the idea of him being anyone important seriously, but he managed to remain just below that threshold for a really long time. Unlike Yamcha, who never really got close and thus never even tries to do anything.

It gets at me how Yamcha is portrayed. You'd think the internet was just making a meme out of his suffering, but then Super goes the extra length to have him excluded from the Frieza fight, and for Goku to just not ask him to join the TOP but still ask Roshi and Krillin.

And then of course the baseball episode. And I'm pretty sure Xenoverse 2 took some shots at him also.

But then you get that manga where Yamcha is made awesome because of an Isekai protagonist.

-

As an aside: I wonder if they'll actually abridge Super or just keep doing shorts.

Hey c'mon, Yamcha tries. Remember when he said he'd take on all of the Saibaimen at once?

Random thought: What was Yamcha's power level again compared to the Saibamen? Did he actually stand a chance there?

And I want a serious answer. Not the usual Meme bullshit of lol! but Yamcha sucks! Of course he'd fail!

Admittedly, him being killed by a self destruct from a single Saibamen he'd seemingly killed works against that, but self destruct attacks at close range can be pretty effective as long as the gap in power isn't too wide (as shown only a few chapters later with Nappa and Chiaoutzu).

But yeah, the difference between them is that Toriyama cared enough about Krillin to try, which he literally never does with Yamcha.
