I didn't think Something Witty's MHA Abridged was very funny, sorry to say. And as for their take on the setting being, I think JoyRide Entertainment's My Hero Academia ABRIDGED was a more interesting parody and exaggeration while still keeping to the original point of the plot. And it does this while telling its own version of the story, which I found oddly compelling as it went on.

I was not judging the characters myself. I was just talking about how the story presented the situation. And that was how it is. Deku's worth was recognized because he jumped the gun to save Bakugo, unlike everyone else in the scene, All Might included. He was explicitly presented as morally superior, in particular towards All Might. Personally, I found that really silly, Deku wasn't showing his worth as a hero in that scene, he was showing his shortcomings. By comparison, the professional heroes were being more reasonable.
Like, I do think the whole hero institution in the series to be absurd and deserving of more criticism than the series is willing to give. But in that scene the institution wasn't really the problem. Which just highlight how weird the series is to present the heroes as morally inferior to Deku there.
That's literally not the point at all of the scene. The point isn't that Izuku's morally superior, the point of the scene is to show that, at his heart, Izuku is a hero. Even if he's powerless, even if his idol told him to his face that he could never be a hero, he proved that he was. Even All Might had gotten cynical by that point, had lost faith in himself and his effectiveness as a hero, and Izuku was the one to inspire him.
"I really am pathetic. I told you the traits that make a great champion, but I see now that I wasn't living up to my own ideal! Pros are always risking their lives, that's the true test of a hero!"
My various fanfics.Yeah, you're just completely off base here Heatth. The other heroes had to deal with the fact that there was an active fire going on, civilians to rescue, and that none of their Quirks were effective against the villain and that Bakugo was also making explosions in a panic.
They weren't doing anything because they couldn't do anything, not because they weren't "heroic enough" or didn't care because there wasn't enough spotlight or anything, and the situation is never framed that way. I honestly don't get how you got that impression.
And All Might doesn't choose Izuku because he's better than everyone else; it's because he sees in him someone who could be a great hero if they had power, but doesn't have any power. So he helped him out with that (after a further 10 months of intensive training).
Edit: Also, I disagree with the notion that the series intends for it to be seen as something purely bad, while simultaneously not addressing it. It's a mixed bag, intended to have both bad and good points, and part of why All Might was even able to make it as the Symbol of Peace was because he took advantage of the good. The series would be much less interesting to me if it actually was supposed to be viewed the way Heatth seems to think it is, even if I can agree I'd like to see the bad get highlighted a bit more.

Personally, I dislike the thought of the series cracking down on its own hero system because, well, I've already seen that story plenty of times before (including in anime), and it is very refreshing to see superheroes being allowed to be a force of good, even if the series doesn't portrays them as perfect.
I think Joy Ride Entertainment's My Hero Academia ABRIDGED was a more interesting parody and exaggeration while still keeping to the original point of the plot.
... what. Totally respect you liking it more, but "keeping to the original point of the plot"? It's a show where Bakugo became the main character (after giving Deku cancer by raping him), they killed Deku off, All Might is a hated jerk, and... yeah. I like the series, but it's easily the single most divergent Abridged series I follow.

Well that seems pretty appropriate.
It's fine.
Is fine.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. As someone who have only watched the first episode of that abriged series, I'm not surprised. The first episode humor basically boiled down to "yelling and people being assholes." That's it. No real punchline, or interesting voice delivery.
Plus the whole racism plot they came up with made me wonder if the writers were a bunch of edgy 14-year olds. Just felt really childish and uninspired.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet Unless I grew it. In that case, throw it in the trash. What rape? It's true Bakugou damaged Deku's colon but not like that.
As for the rest of you. At least see the first season before you write it off. If it doesn't end up your thing then fine, but contextless descriptions can make anything look like shit.

I watched it, I just got disinterested due to the changes.
I'm fine with exaggerating what's already there, not drastic changes.
Calling it edgy trash seems out there, but that requires effort.

I try to watch it but the jokes about cancer came across as unfunny to me it did not help that the same time I try to watch for the first i had my Afi dying in the hospital from cancer.
That not to say I don't like show with jokes like that i do like show like drawn together or south park.
out of all three My Hero Academia Abridged (Something Witty Entertainment and Joy Ride Entertainment) i seen i think the one by Grimmjack its the best.

They're working on it, but don't expect the next season till 2020. We might get Kai 3 and Bojack this year, but that's it.
