@Yumil The only thing the manga offers is a different take on the same general events. I would recommend watching the anime, then reading the manga to compare and contrast the two. I personally think the Super anime is better in almost every way, but occasionally there will be a good part in the manga.
They're not really meant to be compared since the manga is just promotional material for the anime, but it can be neat to see a differring perspective. Treat the Dragon Ball manga like you would any other manga adaptation of any other anime, like the manga versions of the Pokemon movies or the Gurren Lagann manga. Interesting to see a different possibility, but not the main product, and definitely meant to be supplemental to the anime.
I will say that if you're looking for character moments, the anime will deliver in spades, especially the between-arc "filler" episodes, which provide fantastic bits of characterization and character interactions and are widely regarded as some of the best parts of Super.
It may have started out that way but it's long since gone in a different direction.

His Big Bang attack was said to be able to destroy the planet. That is why the beam struggle even happened, Goku couldn't simply dodge. I guess it likely wouldn't explode the planet like Freeza could, but still would "doom Earth".
Which is fine, but it really shouldn't be that long of a discussion.
I disagree, I think you can still have a discussion about it, as long as you recognize you are judging by a different standard. Like, I disagree with them in almost everything so far, but I wouldn't say their list is wrong.
(though, to be honest, even if I would consider the anime, I doubt I would agree with them anyway. Again, I just wouldn't weight spectacle as much as they clearly do)
I would hope you wouldn't say that...seeing as it's their list.

While I can understand your points about story importance, dramatic weight, etc (and those are all important) if I fight doesn't look fun to watch it has (usually) failed as a fight.
What a person considers "good" spectacle vs. "bad" spectacle will obviously vary to person to person, but it does admittedly sound strange to her someone say they don't care about "cool moments". Like, I don't just want cool moments - part of what made so many of Super's fight suck is that they were clearly trying to be all flash, and hoping that would have the fact they were completely lacking in substance.
But, I guess that's opinions for you.

That's a good point actually. If something ends strongly that can really elevate it. But when you look at the list, the vast majority of the fights on the list are prefaced with "yeah, the fight kind of fizzles out at the end, but...".

Ok, first, I never said anything about story importance per se. I said it needed to have a good conclusion and not feel pointless, but that doesn't mean it needs to be important for the story (though it often is but conservation of detail).
Anyway, my point is that a fight without dramatic weight is not fun to watch for me, period. It is just boring. It can have a great animation and choreography but, ultimately, I will just be bored. It needs to have something beyond just that.
I guess if the animation and choreography or whatever was just that good than, maybe. But a tv anime won't have that. It is why their video about the Beerus fight got me interested. Maybe that fight, in a movie format, will be cool enough to be worth it by its own sake, even if the plot is not spectacular (though the way the describe it it seems the fight progression is not awful either).

Yeah. It is a big reason I just can't understand the Cell and Goku fight to be there. It is such a disappointment at the very end. Like, in a way the fight Goku vs Freeza fight was also ultimately pointless and had a wonky progression, but it did end very well.
Why exactly will Tv Anime not or won't have that?

Budget, in large part. But also time in an anime like Dragonball, which is released weekly for years. Not to mention the staff often just don't care enough, as they working conditions are shit. Point is, tv anime will basically never have cool enough visuals to overwhelm me.
Fair enough.
Btw, just to be clear, I don't hate that Cell fight. I don't particularly enjoy for what it is but it doesn't annoy me. Specially because it is not long enough to overstay its welcome, at last in manga form. Also, the ending is an anticlimax, but it is an interesting character moment for Goku so I actually enjoy it overall.

Budget leading onto Visuals.
Okay, I get it then.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I will said DB fight have is tension, that moment when it stick you to see how it will resolved in the end, dramatic weight is less important, otherwise the tornament wont care for me but a good fight mantain a sense of "how this will end?"
Also I mantain that Boo really change things in DB a little bit by being so gimmick it really brings new trick into the table, like the hability to absorve fighters or turning into chocolate, when he eat dabura it was.....wow for me.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"
Dramatic weight is not just "will the world end?" type of drama. Personal drama is still drama and all tournament fights have that (except the fight against Pamputo, but that was a joke). Like, the tournament format gives a dramatic weight by itself. Goku and Kuririn during training would be inherently less interesting than they fighting in the tournament for that only reason. Motivation, progression, context, they are all elements that give drama to any event.
I still maintain that the Kienzan gets a bum rap. All this talk about how it's never useful and nobody ever brings up that time that Frieza used a Kienzan to finally defeat Frieza once and for all and bring an end to the Namek arc. For shame.

Say what you will about Vegeta but his beams are amazing.

Fair.
Btw, I googled that name to make sure I as spelling it wright, and apparently Future Trunks uses it on Super? I will give this to Toei: they at least remember special movies exist. They still fuck up with that information more often then not (why future Trunks would know his fathers move? Did he learn in the Room of Spirit and Time?) but, still, better than inventing a cool attack and not ever mentioning it again. In a way, that the Kienzan is used 3 times (4 if you count 18 vs Goten&Trunks) is already a miracle.

I'm actually less bothered about Trunks knowing the Galick Gun than I am about the Genki-Dama.
He totally could have learned it in the Room of Spirit and Time. Maybe Vegeta was working on his beams in there. He must have invented the Final Flash at some point, after all.
It's doubtful Vegeta ever taught him the Genki-Dama however.

It seems pretty clear that they're basing their picks and reasoning (at least primarily) on the anime, so if that's not something you care about, you aren't going to care about their thoughts.
Which is fine, but it really shouldn't be that long of a discussion.
