I can picture Freeza saying it.
Maybe Beerus.
...Definitely Zamasu.
Vegeta if he found a thesaurus. Dub!Vegeta definitely needs better insults than "clown".
Paragus from that one dub.
...Zarbon or General Blue, maybe?
...I think Tao Pai Pai did say it once at some point?
...Or maybe it was Babidi, I shouldn't mix up their dub voices, sound nothing alike, but I do.

"Pleiban" is just a slightly more erudite way of saying "lowbrow" or "common."
Viz Piccolo would say it. He has a weird archaic speaking style.
Their first fight was great and could never really be topped.

Oh, I know what it means.
I just cannot believe you said it, oh my god.
I mean, what next, are you gonna tip your fedora (not a trilby) and call me "m'lady" or something?

I'm habitually clean-shaven and am not a NEET with a BMI of 30+ so no.

Well, sorry, but that's what "plebian" or "pleb" sound like to me on the internet, when not said by a literal anime Supervillain/royalty/God.
That, or someone who thinks, to put it nicely, highly of themselves.
Would you prefer I say pedestrian? Unrefined? Philistine? What strikes you as a normal way of saying "their opinions are common and in keeping with the group consensus"? I don't get the big deal, I've heard people use "plebeian" (as an adjective, not a noun) unironically in real life all the time.
Edited by Kamiccolo on Dec 13th 2018 at 11:23:16 AM
Are you rich? Because I have been getting a bit hungry.
'Unrefined' (and maybe pedestrian) sounds the least worst of those, but I'd be lying if I said that I thought it was worth saying to begin with.

X9 I probaly mostly like them out of nostalgia, since nowadays I know they're stretched out beyond belief and have their problems
But there's just something about them that draws me in
Also on another note, I recently watched the manga version of the Goku VS Majin Vegeta fight in a video and I was able to tell how filler heavy those fights where, I did even watch the Vegerot one and was able to tell the same thing (only one left is the Goku VS Kid Buu one)
¡PONLE QUE DIGA!:"¡HUMONGOSAURIO HASTA LA MUERTE!"I think I see the Tournament of Power arena in the thumbnail, and Super's over (...I think) and.
In terms of presentation, a lot of those would probably top the list in the anime.
...I think I actually, sorta wonder if they could do different ratings for anime and manga versions, because whike the anime pacing hurts Goku vs Freeza a lot, the manga version is actually really good.
The Buu arc fights are, barring the Freeza fight in the Namek arc, probably the most padded ones from manga to anime. Goku vs Vegeta is the most notable, but Goku vs Pure Buu (everything from Goku engaging to Vegeta tagging in) also gets stretched from 10 pages in a single chapter to nearly 2 full episodes (Youtube tells me 19 minutes).note

Looking at the fights from the manga compared to the anime, the latter does stretch things out a lot, but I'm of the opinion that's good.
The pacing of a lot of the manga's fights feel really off to me.
Edited by LSBK on Dec 13th 2018 at 1:47:59 PM
I mean.
I agree in places, like Majin Vegeta, but equally.
Holy shit, the Freeza fight did not need any padding at all.
Edited by unnoun on Dec 13th 2018 at 2:46:54 PM
Well, I didn't say everything; just a lot of it.
The Freeza fight was 60% padding even in the manga (i.e. everything having to do with his lower forms and percentages).

Don't forget the fucking "five minutes" thing.
And we open up with a movie villain
Kinda wondering if the Gogeta fight from Super Broly will be referenced in a special entry like in the villains one
¡PONLE QUE DIGA!:"¡HUMONGOSAURIO HASTA LA MUERTE!"It's been years since I've seen the anime, but for many of the extended fights they additional scenes just aren't very interesting even when they extend things to a more reasonable pace. Even for the shorter fights, Toriyama's good use of panelling make each attack feel impactful. A lot of the extras added in just feel like padding, especially when they don't fit the narrative flow of the fight.
And the Z anime is poorly paced more often than it isn't.
I was reading the Pure Boo fight this morning on a whim, actually (doing my thing where I brainstorm alternative endings) and the entire sequence is pretty long. It has all the necessary story beats as-is and I don't think adding more to it really enhances it. It'd just be more of the same.

I'm thinking that the #1 spot is either going to be Goku VS Vegeta or Gohan VS Cell.
It's been 3000 years…I am 95% sure it's going to be Goku vs Freeza because, again, TFS is quite p- pedestrian. That one's a common pick.
Edited by Kamiccolo on Dec 13th 2018 at 2:32:27 AM
I mean, I'd agree, but why are you saying that like it's a bad thing? There's a reason certain fights are considered the best or certain scenes most iconic or whatever.
Having different tastes are fine, but you're coming off oddly elitist about it.
Some things are popular for a good reason.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Who seriously uses the word "plebian"?
