Really, if any information came directly from Toei, you should probably not take it at all. They've transcended past pesky mortal concepts like "continuity" and "logic."

Usually you'd want sources closer to the time of release.

The powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.IIRC, the original idea was that they wouldn't abridge Super since it's new stuff that Funimation is dubbing and monetizing themselves. In return, they get to keep doing this without being harassed by Dragon Ball's IP-holders.
But Toei wasn't a part of that deal and thoroughly despises Team Four Star, regularly taking advantage of YouTube's Content ID system to monetize their videos and sometimes issuing Copyright Strikes against them to try to kill their channel.
So. Y'know. YMMV on whether or not that deal's still a thing.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Can I just say how weird it is that the American Team, over here in the Land of "F*CK YOU MY COPYRIGHT IS GOD!!! EAT MY CEASE-AND-DESIST ORDER!!!" are totally chill with TFS?
Meanwhile, the crew from Japan, where every piece of media has a million unofficial doujins for sale (half of them pornographic) are the ones who constantly throw a shit-fit over TFS daring to exist?
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Well that's because Japan is Dragon ball's home country and they feel like the ambirdged series is mean spirited piss take, while America has no problem with it because it's not something they made and they get a laugh out of it

have a listen and have a link to my discord server
If that's true re: Japan then I think they're missing the point. To me, DBZA is one of those parodies that is effective precisely because the creators know and love the material so much. I don't think they'd be half as good of they really were being mean spirited.

I do feel bad for the team. Like. They made this series as a labor of love for a material they admire.
And now, while putting in the hours to produce said series, they also have to constantly wrestle with the anime's creator trying to strangle the life out of their project.
That awkward moment where the people who inspired you hate you and want you to f*ck right off a cliff.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I'm reminded of how Anime fansub community used to draw this big moral line in the sand about not profiting from the shows, and, as that scene developed, the game of whack-a-mole the copyright holders started playing against them.
When Crunchyroll first appeared, they ruffled a lot of feathers in the fansub community by breaking the 'thou-shall-not-profit' commandment, but breaking the rule was, ironically, exactly why the copyright holders allowed Crunchyroll to continue; once there's actual money involved, it made more sense for them to just ask for a cut rather than try to stamp it out.
So I wonder if they could get Toei off their back just by putting DBZA behind a paywall.
With TFS, Toei does both. They try to find ways to kill TFS's channel whenever they're not too busy putting ads on all of TFS's videos to rake in advertising revenue from the team's fans at a 100% cut.
Their position is effectively, "I hate you and want you gone forever. But as long as you're here, I might as well get paid for all of your hard work."

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I think the US holders to the rights realizes that TFS does way, way, way, way more good than harm to the property.
Seriously, TFS has done so much to keep DBZ relevant in the... what, 15 or so years when there was no new DB media coming out?
I, for one, wouldn't have given a shit about Super or the new movies if DBZA hadn't been keeping me invested in the property.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I think the reason they dislike TFS more then they do the people who make Doujinshi, is that the people who make the Doujinshi have to draw it themselves, while TFS is mainly just editing the animes footage. So from their Point of view, at least the people making the Doujinshi are at least creating something new, just with existing characters, while TFS is just reusing the stuff they made. I don't agree with that view, but I think that is how they see it.
That people actually believe that is less on TFS and just really dumb.

The movie pamphlets are almost definitely the least reliable sources.
