Babidi came to Earth to pick up Buu, but the power that revived Buu came directly from SSJ 2 Goku vs. Majin Vegeta, a battle that could never have taken place if Vegeta never came to Earth and Goku never went to Namek and became a Super Saiyan.
Everything bad that happened in the series happened because of people trying to use and/or succeeding in using the Dragon Balls. "People" here doesn't just mean Goku and his gang, although they contributed a heavy amount, but from a "godlike entity punishing mortal kind for their sins" perspective, it's all the same. It doesn't matter who did it, you've crossed the line where everyone gets punished.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Saiga: What I meant was that perhaps the Namekians didn't know about the drawbacks because they weren't using the Balls nearly as often. Like, the "NNNNNEGATIVE ENERGY DRAGONS" thing was a drawback that they never ran into and didn't know could happen.
Unless some line in GT contradicts that by having Namekians talk about how that was something that could happen.
I have a message from another time...Doesn't really make sense since the Shadow Dragons only cared about the actual wishes.
Yeah, the give an Infodump on the Shadow Dragons when they happen.

Him knowing about Super Saiyan 4 is also weird, since he only knew of Super Saiyan in the first place from Goku and Gohan. The first time he mentions it, he says "Do that Super Saiyan thing or whatever it's called". Kind of weird for a guy to know of Super Saiyan 4 if he's not entirely sure of the transformations' name, eh?
I think it would have been neat if, instead of destroying everything, the Shadow Dragons were specifically taking their toys and going home. One by one, unmaking the wishes they had granted, leaving the heroes in a race to stop them before they, say, unmake New Namek or, if they get to the final wish, everyone on Earth returns to being dead.
There wouldn't have to be Seven of them because the Dragons themselves wouldn't have to correspond to a specific wish or ball. Hell, there could just be one. Hell, it could be Shenron himself.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Wasn't Babidi gathering energy to awaken Buu? So Buu would still wake up, it's just Vegedouche and World's Worst Father fighting the made it much quicker
Seven dragons is still an interesting idea o work with, it's just the corresponding wish effecting a particular dragon that made it silly.

I thought Babidi went to Eath to pick up Buu. Regardless of the powers, Buu was waiting.
