This. I don't remember this moment, but presumably it's before he meets Goku. Once Goku takes the field, he takes up most of Frieza's attention.
He's observing the family resemblance, but doesn't have Goku to use as a frame of reference.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Gohan looks a lot like Goku.
Once Gohan gets old enough, he looks like Goku with different hair. I first noticed this during his fight against Perfect Cell. At one point there's a closeup on his face as he's smiling, and he's the spiting image of his dad...and this is when he's only about 9 or 10.
It's even more pronounced when he's 16.
One Strip! One Strip!Randomness found an image...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I'm not even sure Gohan's face is longer, so much as he has a higher hairline. Like, more hair style than face difference.
Though now that people mention Freeza finding that Gohan looks like Raditz, it occurs to me that Raditz actually resembles Vegeta more than Goku (And therefore his own dad).
Both have a Pointed hairline, including small "Hook" like hair above the ears on each side of their heads. It's especially true if you compare with Saiyan Saga!Vegeta (As Toriyama altered his design by Namek). Vegeta's head is basically Raditz, only a bit wider and it gets even wider at the top.
Look at the identical hairlines!

Or maybe Gine was related to the royal family. Maybe the reason Gine was put on a purging squad despite sucking at it and needing to be saved all the time, and the reason she got such a cushy job at the meat distribution center was good old fashioned nepotism.
Granted, there's no family resemblance with Gine either. The character Gine resembles most is End-Of-Z's Goten.
Maybe it skips a generation, I dunno.
On the topic of appearance, when Dragonball Z first aired the shot of cast at the end of the opening credits shows everyone as they are during the android saga. I saw one guy in the back who looked like Goku, but had short hair. It wasn't until we got to the Android arc and Yamcha cut his hair that I realized it was him.
As a kid who wants everything to be EDGY and COOL like VEGETA, the Great Saiyaman segment is a cringeworthy bit of painfully ridiculous nonsense.
As an adult who appreciates the sum of what Dragon Ball is, the Great Saiyaman segment is a hilarious extension of Gohan as a character. It's cringeworthy, but deliberately so; indeed, the reactions of the characters around Gohan sell the absurdity by making clear that no, we are not supposed to be taking this seriously at all.
The Great Saiyaman is awesome for the same reason that the Ginyu Force were awesome: because here is this idiot making a total ass of himself, and he can piledrive you into the ground if you try and say his poses aren't epic. Gohan is so powerful that he has the luxury of being an embarrassing dumbass.
This exact same premise of the embarrassing clod who is also the most powerful thing around would, many years later, go on to become the whole joke of One Punch Man.
