...That was fun.
Though Goku's speech about change is very ironic considering how hard the status quo is gonna reset itself.
...And I can't wait for Cell's Cover of My Way. That was a beautiful way for him to end his run.
One Strip! One Strip!Honestly, even Buu isnt 100% status quo, considering Goku needed the Spirit Bomb, which literally never worked before then.
Goku powering up to beat an enemy doesnt work because Super Saiyan 3 is useless.
EDIT: Toei would sue the hell out of them over a Super Abridged.

Honestly, my favorite parts of Super are the fucking filler, like Arale and baseball and Pan beating the hell out of Pilaf.
Actually, scratch that, Pan in general is the best part of Super. Pan and Piccolo's dynamic is amazing.
It's a shame that the serious parts of Super fall so short of Battle of Gods the movie.
Cell's death dragged on way too long, I still can't take Abridged Gohan seriously, I still hate both Dende and that running "Characters have sex and finish with their signature move" joke (though the Krillin Owned Count was a nice touch) but beyond that, the last part was way better than the first two I thought.
Also that instrumental of Unmei no Hi in the credits was way better than the vocal version from the first part.
This song needs more love.I'm sort of surprised they didn't include any references to Cell's opinion on cornbread.
I'm a little bugged they left out all the humans + Piccolo attacking Cell. I mean, ultimately that didn't accomplish anything, but still... let the peanut gallery have something.
That aside though, I liked this finale a lot. I think that was a remix of "Gohan Angers" that was playing just before the beam struggle... that's three Faulconer soundtracks DBZA has used if I'm remembering right.
And yay! They're doing season 4. That's great to hear.
And yes, Goku's speech about saying goodbye was a troll move. I was certain they were leading up to saying "That's all for DBZA, seeya!" with that.

So, apparently redoing season one is on the table.
I’m all for it; the early stuff just isn’t up to their current standards.
During their commentary of the past episodes, they said they agreed (roughly) to "Kill off any filler {they} didn't like" Considering I've never heard them badmouth the other world tournament or the great saiyanman, I feel like we'll at least get 3 episodes covering those arcs and the filler involved. Add to the janemba movie relying on alot of that fillers context and the crew mentioning a few times that the main 4 members will be voicing each of the four king Kais (Masako as east kai, can't remember who that leaves to voice west.) I think they won't be skipping much more filler for Z moving forward. And I know they said they have no plans for GT or Super, but that doesn't mean much. It's a big crew and plans change, if some of the crew wants to keep going, they'll keep going.
Now for how they'll handle the Buu saga, I'm going to make a few predictions. I feel like babidi will be handled similarly to how they handled Garlic jr. and Dr. Gero, minus the hindsight, so he'll be sarcastically arrogant the whole way through. Either that or they'll make him secretly having been gregory the whole time.
With Gohan, based on what we seen of him at the end here, he'll be showing a bit of his lack of street smarts, and might decide that if he's going to protect the earth he's going to do it HIS way, cue great saiyaman.
With Videl, I am BETTING that her being a harry potter fan as a kid is going to play into the buu saga, she's going to think every ki technique is magic, (mirroring her father thinking everything is tricks) and then shout "Told you so" when Supreme Kai talks about babidi (maybe whimper it if it's during her fight, dunno, maybe they'll play that straight).
Speaking of supreme kai, I feel like a comment of how he feels less like a supreme being and more like future trunks in terms of personality (honestly feel like the Buu arc would have been leagues better if instead of SK and kibito it was just Future trunks and future 16 in disguise to warn them about another threat. Keep elder kai and the Z sword since trunks works with both thematically.)
And if they don't use the scene with goten and trunks that CREATED Abridged Popo I'm going to be shocked. Though I wonder if that comment of "editing a certain someone out" for the Buu saga is a hint or Lani just trolling.
That was an excellent end to the best villain of the series so far. I guess Takahata got the idea from Greg Baldwin singing My Way for Aku's death.
The legend has returned. For all its faults season 1 was still more enjoyable than 3.
A re-mastered 1 just sounds like them taking out all the good jokes and making it boring.
If they were going to do it I'd like to see them do it after season 4, if they manage to get back on the level of season 2 by being less serious and having more fun.
Anyway, this part was more enjoyable than the last two parts. More moments that made me laugh and some nicely edited scenes. I'm glad that when they gave Vegeta crap for rushing Cell, they also extended that to Gohan.
Well this I didn't expect to read. Usually the common opinion is that the human characters deserved to be forgotten and that any lingering attachment to, or desire for them to do more is foolhardy.
I'm a bit disappointed they took out the team-up as well but, hey, it is an abridged series after all. I'm sort of okay with this.
Eh. I think Part 2 1 was the strongest out of the three. 16's speech to Gohan, confusing as the authenticity of it was, was pretty deep. And of course the scene following it one-upped it on the holy sh-t meter.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!

I think the second half was better than the first, but that ending was gold.
I liked Freeza's death more than Cell's.
I can't remember what Goku's speech was in canon, but this seems like a nicer substitute if that's what it actually was, if strangely profound.
Also, Krillin's Owned Count does the counter being at 1 and the scene changing to night time imply what I think it implies? Because if so, well, good job Krillin.
