Remember how a bunch of people thought Gohan's transformation was going to be because he was mad at Goku for being a terrible parent?

Heh.

Man, it wasn't just Goku they tore into in this one huh? Gohan got roasted as well. I honestly never really thought about him as a coward, but we have discussed how odd it was for him to suddenly be a total pacifist like he became in this series and all.

And Cell manages to be the nicest towards Yamcha while still shitting on him (by acknowledging both how little the latter deserves the constant mocking, and still finding it funny).

...He's right. It is a metaphor.[lol]

This was great. Looking forward to part 2.

Was not expecting them to bust out a translation of Spirit vs Spirt. I don't think that one ever got an english version, though I do believe it was subbed.

What I mean is he was on his high horse way too much this season, using his pacifism as a crutch to keep him from facing his problems head-on.

Technically Yamcha didn't do anything wrong either (hell, he was the one who carried Goku back to his house to take the medicine).

But I assume that's not brought up since it's Yamcha.

Everybody did something wrong by not supporting Bulma's plan to find and kill the person responsible for the Androids before the time skip happened.

Noreo, Dameon, Travis, Curtis, Dale, Johantan, and Vegeta Jr.Jr.

So is Vegeta Jr. Jr. Ben Jeffery? What dub of GT even used him in place of Dameon Clarke?

Alternatively, I wouldn't doubt the odds that there's a person voicing Cell in a fan project somewhere with Vegeta as part of his username.

Everybody did something wrong by not supporting Bulma's plan to find and kill the person responsible for the Androids before the time skip happened.

This is true.

I like to joke about using the Dragon Balls to teleport Vegeta and Nappa's pods into the sun and how it results in everyone living happily ever after... right up until the Androids murder them all because everybody's sorely underleveled, Vegeta isn't even here, and nobody can go Super Saiyan.

But Thwarting Stage One on the Android arc might actually have yielded a lasting positive outcome. Deep-six Dr. Gero before he can build any of his Androids and you can pretty much pack it in. Show's over, nothing to see here.

Cell would still be a problem, but the Room of Spirit and Time would still exist, as would Piccolo's ability to merge with God. What would not exist, however, are Androids 17 and 18. He'd have crippled himself to escape a future that doesn't have them, only to arrive in a past that still doesn't have them.

So it wouldn't exactly be hard for Goku, Vegeta, and/or Piccolo to clean house on Permanently Imperfect Cell.

That just leaves Majin Buu. The fact that the battle powers on Earth are nowhere near what Babidi needs to awaken Buu because no one ever had to deal with Perfect Cell means that Kaioshin has far more time to figure out a solution while Babidi's floating around trying to figure out how to scrape enough ki out of Yamcha.

So. Like. There's still work to do after aborting the Androids, but unlike "Suddenly Androids happen", it's actually pretty manageable.

I thought the phrase was to sixty-nine Dr. Gero, not deep-six him.

[up][up] There was way more depth to that "Because my sister baba told me to." joke than I realized.

Oh right, wasn't TFS giving commentary on the rest of the abridged series up to the release of this episode or something? Is there a recording of that or have they not actually done it yet?

Also, I think my favorite joke of this episode was the Super Butouden reference the moment Cell kicked Gohan, simply because I had just brought that stuff up to my friend when we were playing the Fighter Z open beta. But what I thought was really neat was how the scenes painted cell as unwittingly mentoring Gohan, did anyone else notice that.
