Seriously, you just said that personality and relationships are "superficial", and that only character design matters.
Here's the dictionary definition of superficial, you used it exactly wrong.
Kale and Broly's similarities are superficial: they resemble each other on the surface. The thing that sets them apart is the depth in their characters, their personality, feelings, and relationships.

Brocc had personality?
It just seemed like he was the "didn't talk much"...dude.

Yes, superficial because the person was going "one has a dad, while the other has a friend" is superficial. Yes, minor things were changed because they're in different plots. That doesn't not change that Kale's biggest asset is that she is a Broly shoutout, at least as far as the anime goes. Maybe the manga is handling her better, I don't know, I don't read it.
You keep talking as if Kale (and Cauliflau) being is some deep, well-written character as a fact, when I saw nothing about either of them to consider them such.
So, yes, Kale isn't exactly like Broly personality-wise. But her motivations are still terrible like his. Her power is still ridiculous like his (perhaps even worse, because it's way more inconsistent, even after she should have control of it), and so much of her look and direct fighting scenes are just stolen from Broly.

Broly doesn't like his dad or Kakarot. It's not much, but it's there. Kale had feelings of jealousy and inadequacy that stem from self-hatred, and she goes through character development into a person without those issues.
If you're going to keep arguing, I'd suggest you not deny what is objective fact if you want me to take you seriously. Yes, Kale has depth. More than many side characters in this franchise. Whether or not you liked that depth is frankly irrelevant to whether or not it exists.
You didn't make any argument either, so my idea was to try to incite you to actually explain yourself beyond "the differences between them arbitrarily don't count because I said so".
That is a very good point. I think it came up because someone mentioned that TFS would have material for Broly 2 because of both Kale and New!Broly. Either way, REALLY off topic.
So, TFS have said that they'll be stopping at the Cell Saga, but they obviously want to continue into the Buu Saga. What are the odds they'll tackle Bojack? They've been setting him up ever since King Kai's introduction.
Clone wasn't hyperbole, I was referring to tropes like Char Clone and Expy. That's what Kale was conceived as, 'Broly but let's make them a girl'.
I'm not saying that makes them identical, just pointing that that Kale's existence will always be because of Broly and there is no denying that.

Nobody here is saying she isn't based off Broly. Just that she has enough notable differences that calling her a full clone is inaccurate. How about we compromise and call her an Echo Fighter.
After all this is still shonen & FIGHTS... ARE.... EVERYTHING!!!!
.......Wait then it’s Broly cause a lot of Kale’s moments are homages to his shit.
Gotta be real here, Kale walking through Goku's Kamehameha is a lot cooler than Broly standing there and tanking Goku's Kamehameha.

Just watched the scene in question & he actually didn’t walk through it.
What he did though was tank it at point-blank range like it was nothing after a cool walk to a charging Goku indicating he gave no shit what he was gonna do.
Actually tanking a point-blank blast is cooler than taking it at a distance cause point-blank shows you are tuff as fuck.
Though yeah nothing beats that. Cooler is fucking Cooler than everybody, not just Frieza. ![]()

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I disagree with her having more depth. She has a very inconsistent characterization (going from 'Shrinking Violet Yandere in base, Psycho Lesbian Yandere while Berserk' to 'insecure and hating her weakness') and what she does have is very standard for the tropes she's written with.
When they tossed out the really bad Yandere characterization they didn't leave her with much.

One is a shy girl.
