Broly, Kale, does it really matter when they're both terrible?

All that matters is who got the better fight.

After all this is still shonen & FIGHTS... ARE.... EVERYTHING!!!!

.......Wait then it’s Broly cause a lot of Kale’s moments are homages to his shit.

[up][up][up] Aye. Despite what Kaiser wants, Kale will never stop being a clone.

[up][up] I find original Broly to be notably less terrible, and I'm willing to give Neo Broly a shot.

I hope the overuse of homages with Kale means that we won't have to deal with it in the current movie and the choreography/scenes are more original.

That’s the tricky thing.

Toriyama is ultimately writing this & he prefers to do his own thing but he was inspired afterwards seeing the Broly triology so he may, may write a bone in there or so.

Then there’s Tohei who are very much known for loving to put in fanservice so the animators may decided to homage key moments from the original.

Again it’s a tricky thing to think about.

Toriyama is unlikely to detail the fight scenes so much, but Toei totally would. I just think they wouldn't do the same thing so soon after doing exactly that with Kale.

I don’t know they reused the same “Vegeta cares & gets inspired by his family from the brink” like 3 times in the same arc.

They are no strangers to doing the same shit again consecutively.

I just think they wouldn't do the same thing so soon after doing exactly that with Kale.

That'd be stupid like releasing the Cooler Movie the same year the Anime adapted the Freeza Saga. And Toei would never do that!

Oh wait....

No see, plot rehashes are one thing.

But aping the choreography shot for shot has gotta be too on the nose to do twice so recently

...right?

Rule 63...is pretty funny in general.

Hopefully it's suppose to be.

Aye. Despite what Kaiser wants, Kale will never stop being a clone.

She's already got some pretty big difference from the original Broly.

[down]Shush you.

Broly and Kale have different relationships and moralities. Broly had an overbearing dad and he was a villain. Kale has a supportive friend/girlfriend and she is a hero.

Broly also doesn't go through any character development, unless you count becoming more one-note over time. Kale has a whole well-written character arc about self-loathing and self-acceptance.

Broly and Kale have different relationships and moralities. Broly had an overbearing dad and he was a villain. Kale has a supportive friend/girlfriend and she is a hero.

Superficial differences like that don't mean much, especially when calling her a clone was hyperbole of Saiga's part.

The point is that the point of Kale's character was more about being a Broly shout out than anything else. Certainly that was more the point than her "development".

[up][up]I don't think I'm going to play this game, considering experience tells me you're just going to go "You're wrong" without actually stating an argument or trying to understand where other people are coming from, and then call other people rude and toxic for having opinions different from yours and expressing them.

Which incidentally, strikes me as fairly rude and toxic, but, eh.

Like I said before, on that font but Broly and Kale are terrible, they're just terrible in different ways.
