I wonder if the humans could learn the kaioken. Maybe the perk humanity has is being able to attain higher levels of kaioken with out undergoing Heroic RRoD.
That might have been cool back before Super Saiyan was all the rage, but now it would just feel like the laziest bone to throw them. "We're about to unlock Super Saiyan Ultra God Third Degree Blue Green Rainbow With A Hint Of Peppermint and it's going to be so cool, but here, guys, you can have Goku's old hand-me-down multiplier. Try not to hurt yourselves with it."
Back around the time of the Cell arc, I would have agreed that the humans mastering the Kaioken might be a way to get them relevant again, provided it also comes with a helping of power-boosts to get them into the Saiyans' ballpark. Goku outpacing everyone in base stopped being a thing when Piccolo became more powerful than 50 Gokus. At that point, there's no reason Toriyama couldn't have boosted the humans enough that, like, Yamcha using the Kaioken x10 could match a Super Saiyan despite the implication that Yamcha = 5 Gokus.
He didn't because he didn't want to, because they weren't relevant. But purely hypothetically, if the humans were going to get the Kaioken, that was the time to do it.
Now, you'd need to stack so much bullshit on top of them mastering the Kaioken to believably catch them up that you might as well just do it without the Kaioken. What the humans really need if they ever want to believably compete with the others is their own special ability. Some new deus ex machina bullshit instead of any of the old deus ex machina bullshit that's So Last Season.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Plus, can't Goku use the Kaioken in SSJ Blue anyway? Or is that more of a super attack thing? I thought that was an interesting development, but I've heard nothing about that anymore, so I dunno if it amounted to anything.
Given how Goku tends to borrow techniques rather than make his own, I think it would have been cool to show his skill as a fighter if he improved upon the flaws of them in some way and then started using them himself. Like, he borrows the idea of Yamcha's manipulable spirit ball by bending his Kamehameha to catch someone when they dodge or line up a followup attack, or refines the Kienzan to make it less noisy and slow and thus more effective at the chopping dudes thing. Perhaps I'm misjudging Goku's character a bit, but learning new moves and making them better would seem to me like something he'd be interested in, and yet he kinda stopped learning new techniques after the Instant Transmission. Mind, this is the sort of thing that would have to have been done long ago for it to be super relevant, but it's interesting to consider, I think.

Most estimations of the Saiyan's power assume that even Goku and Vegeta only grew 1.3-1.5 times stronger in seven years, and that was supposed to be huge gains. Assuming present Goku and Vegeta are still hovering around, or slightly stronger than, their Buu Saga levels when they're not tapping into Godly Ki or Super Saiyan, that means their base states barely got 2x stronger in 10-15 years.
I can believe the Humans getting massively powerful in the time being, and even catching up to the Saiyans in base, assuming they didn't stagnate as hard as the Saiyans did. At least, not until they hit the same level as the Saiyans. There is evidence that Humans may get stronger gains than Saiyans do from the same type of training.
I was going to link a video of Hak Foo from Jackie Chan Adventures, but I can't find one.

If I had a week, I couldn't explain all the reasons that wouldn't work.

My various fanfics.Eh, Super Saiyan isn't a set power. Make early series Goku a Super Saiyan and he's still nothing compared to any of the humans after training with Kami.
Contrast that to Goten and Trunks who don't even remember when they first went Super Saiyan and are heavily implied to be much stronger than one of those very same androids that could curbstomp their fathers by ages 7 and 8.

Just making sure, but is that 'despair' beneath your avatar supposed to be misspelled?
