Pretty much. Same with Random Guy as Superman. Random Guy Superman would make quips about Goku's hairstyles but comics Superman probably wouldn't be as snarky or dismissive- especially when Goku would be among the strongest people Supes has fought and he keeps randomly spiking up in power.

A I being called out for a generalisation?
Well, that's the point, I don't really know. I was mostly talking about Death Battle though.
There are no doubt stupidly overpowered characters (like Asura and Team Guren and probably Dante (he doesn't seem to die easily) and a bunch of other shouneny types. But are they ever gonna have a death battle?
Yeah. Goku going SS 4 was a bit off. However, I'm perfectly fine with the idea that he would be able to go SS 4 in an adult form. It just happens that he never gets his adult body back in GT until the distant distant distant finale.
And it's closer to fully correct than Link vs Cloud, where Link had Ocarina's Golden Gauntlets, and the Lanayru-forged Hylian Shield and the Skyward Strike and Clawshot from Skyward Sword, and the full-health sword beam from neither of those games.
Of course, Goku going SS 4 and all that would be more of an issue if it had led to him wining. In the end, it made him slightly less totally outmatched.
Heck, if they didn't use any filler or GT stuff, Goku wouldn't have been able to get a Senzu Bean with telekinesis, and it'd be over inside 2 minutes.

I have a message from another time...I'd watched the shorter previews explaining each of the characters, so I'd come to expect the Power Pole to figure into the fight (even though Goku has long since discarded it), but I was taken by surprise when I learned that Goku hath telekinesis.

Is it a requirement for using SS 4, or for making the breakthrough into using the form for the first time?
Also, hwo did Goku get his ail back in GT, again?
I have a message from another time...It is. Since Vegeta's lack of a tail prevents him from transforming even after he obtains the form.

I'm suspecting the Goku used was some kind of hybrid of everything he's ever been capable of, aka he has his looks from Z, but he can go into SS 4 when he wants to and still uses the Power Pole. Or something like that. I dunno. Considering their calculations, removing SS 4 would make Goku lose worse, so best to take what you can get.
Since it's mentioned here, I see Superman's OOC moment as one of two things: Either he felt that he couldn't dodge the blow and had to face it head-on, or he legitimately had a moment of weakness, where he, even for only a second, allowed himself to go at full power. Either way, I highly doubt that Superman or Goku knew just how devastating that final clash would be.
Regarding the telekinesis: not just Guldo, don't forget that Chiaotzu had telekinesis as far back as his first appearance in Dragon Ball. He was using it to cheat at the World Martial Arts Tournament.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Oh, right, when he shuffled the lots.
Now, while the principle exists, and while Goku has obviously appropriated the Crane style (flight), we haven't seen him use Chiaotzu-style telekinesis outside of filler.
However, the potential does exist.

I have a message from another time...I like that Goku is using his staff, it is so overlooked after DB but this shows how useful it could have been...
No it's not. It's exactly like hitting him with a regular object, because the nyoi-bo's magical properties have nothing to do with dealing damage.
A sword enchanted to cut anything can cut Superman, but a sword enchanted to sparkle faintly won't do shit just because it's magic.

I'm just going to say no, and try to stop there.
