The Nameless Namekian was actually living on Earth among the people for a while, IIRC. Long enough for his heart to become corrupted by evil and need to be purified, anyways. He may not be human, but he was still chosen from the populace.
Dende, on the other hand, was dwelling contentedly on New Namek when Goku basically teleported over and abducted him to come be our full-time Dragon Ball enabler.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I mean, he was pretty much the only Guardian of Earth who was chosen that way; considering Goku was once offered the position, who knows how many Gods have held dominion over Earth throughout its history.

Probably, but he still proves that you don't have to be a denizen of the planet's population to become its God. There's no actual rule about it. It's just that the people of the planet are much more convenient 'cause, like, they're right there and not everyone can teleport halfway across the galaxy in the blink of an eye.
No, you're not the only one. I've seen people both complain about that, because they think it's gotten less funny and was the reason they watch, and people praise it as "better than the source material".
I don't fully agree with either, but I can see where they come from, at least in some areas.
But like Saiga said, if we were to seriously look at this as a legit dub, it would be terrible in most aspects. I find the one of the reasons people don't take it like that because so many people have a "hate boner" for English dubs period, and early dubs of Dragon Ball, specifically. Because apparently a lot of these people don't realize the 90s are over and things have gotten better.
But as for me, I like to look at as a good parody, that occasionally does things I find annoying or poorly-executed .
He got very upset when they said they liked his Trunks better than Eric whatshisface.
My various fanfics.I feel like I remember something about him not liking people saying he was a better Trunks than the guy Funimation has.
I mean, obviously fans don't have to agree with them, but like the way TFS themselves actually talk about the English dub (and the original Japanese) should make you realize that they don't think they're "doing it better" or anything.
I'd still call it a parody rather than an alternative dub, but in terms of length it's not really as "abridged" as it used to be; episode pacing has definitely slowed down since the first two seasons.
It's not necessarily a bad thing, since the writing and jokes are still top-notch, but some episodes feel like filler that don't actually advance the plot.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I fall into the group of fans that prefer DBZA when it's just bombarding the audience with jokes rather than trying to mesh in actual dramatic writing... but that's mostly because I just think Kaiser, Taka, and Lani are way better at writing jokes than they are at serious stuff, and when they try to do both at the same time it feels kinda jarring. I don't hate their more serious writing, but it does feel kinda out of place, and I always find a lot to nitpick about it.
Still a bit upset that they used a remix of Vegeta's Super Saiyan dub theme instead of something with instrumentation that sounds closer to the original. >_>
but HOW?So, this series reminded me of something I kinda forgot about:
Goku really doesn't have any original techniques.
Every single character at the Cell games has something they've invented themselves:
- Yamcha and the Wolf Fang Fist;
- Krillin and the Destructo Disk;
- Tien and...well it's hard to tell what's his and what he learned from Tao and Shen, but lets just say the Multi-form;
- Gohan has his Masenko (his own son has his own technique. c'mon Goku);
- Piccolo and every single technique he's used.
- Trunks has that attack he used against Frieza (I think it's called the Burning attack);
I mean, there are few who don't seem to have anything, but for a main character, not having a single original attack is pretty sad.
...
<Realizes Yusuke and Naruto didn't have their own techniques either>
....Huh. Guess it's not that uncommon....no wait. Naruto had the Sexy Jutsu. He don't count.
One Strip! One Strip!

Kami wasn't a member of the population either. Technically.
I suppose "member of the population" could just mean "someone who lives there" so both Kami and Dende would technically count.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!
