Only in Father of Goku.
Fasha was replaced by Gine.

Yes, Gine replaced a character who filled a completely different role and was completely unrelated.
I just weirdly hate the idea that Goku had parents who cared about him. The Saiyans were a bunch of genocidal dicks and the idea that the two who weren't also happened to be Goku's parents is just dumb and turns him into a boring Superman clone. Father of Goku gives the interpretation that he evolved beyond his barbaric race to become something greater purely due to coincidence and head trauma. Nothing special about him.

This song needs more love.Yes, she did. Fasha was the One Female Saiyan. Now Gine is, because Fasha never happened.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.OK, the saiyans are a bunch of space pirate cavemen who eat people. Which may or may not be worse.
I'm thinking the extermination of the saiyans was less "these folks will overthrow you" and more "they will overpopulate, steal your shit, and eat your kids".

This song needs more love. She also likely had a battle power of at least 500 assuming Raditz was a standard low class warrior and Gine sucked at the murder because she wasn't stronk enough. While I have no proof of this, it's reasonable to assume that she could kick the ass of everyone in Dragon Ball up until Raditz.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! Can't wait for her to turn housewife when she gets married.
Her look has changed from what was announced earlier. She was originally announced to be a Sayian Launch but the new episode has her more like Ayla with spiky hair looking like lavos.
I mean, I think Gine wasn't the nicest most selfless or completely pacifistic and selfless to non-Saiyans considering her main concern about sending Goku away was the danger to infiltrator babies and not wiping out species. She cares more about her own kid. To hell with whatever happens to those other fuckers.
But that's not an indication of how she treats other species one-on-one and in the field, face-to-face.
Humans often find that there's a difference between not caring whether someone you don't know dies, and being willing to look them in the eye and end their lives yourself.
We hesitate. And the way I picture Gine, that's why Bardock kept having to save her.
Toriyama can seemingly only write housewives, which is presumably why Gine is the way she is, but I do think it's interesting that she's specifically said to be outside the norm for Saiyans in general, rather than all Saiyan women being like her. Almost like it's an instance of Toriyama being aware of his own shortcomings or something.
It's a violation of show don't tell, but. Eh. Guidelines.
I see no reason Fasha and Gine couldn't be on Bardock's team together before Gine retired.
I mean, we don't know why Gine sucked at the murder is the thing. Toriyama doesn't quite say. What he says is "Gine had a gentle personality and wasn’t cut out as a warrior, being repeatedly saved from danger by Bardock." For all we know she's stronger than 100 Brolys and is just really bad at being aggressive.
As for how anyone could hurt something stronger than 100 Brolys, maybe she lets her guard down and they have those Sorbet rings.
I mean, they have Scouters so I'm actually going to assume she was in the average, low-class bracket and not an Elite. But we don't quite know where she ranks even within the low-class bracket, whether she's stronger than Bardock and Raditz or not.

That's an odd claim to make given that Toriyama hadn't written anyone as a 'typical' housewife before the BOG/Minus/Super stuff started. Really, his self-admitted shortcoming was that he wrote all his female characters as having a similar fiesty personality.
Throw me in with the 'Father of Goku' crowd. It definitely has its flaws, but I much prefer it to Minus which makes all the characters really boring and has a very generic take on everything. Minus has no substance whatsoever.
