Nobody asks him. He just mentions so after the Dragon Balls are made (and explicitly says "no one who has died can come back again") and apologizes for not bringing it up before he made the balls.

[up] They don't take up three wishes, they restrict you to making two wishes. Kind of like taking up two wishes for the revival wish, but not quite, since you could theoretically use two mass revival wishes.

Man, so much shit would have to go down to need two separate sets of criteria for mass-revivals.

"I need you to bring back everyone who was killed by Turbo-Frieza and his army of Cell miniatures. And I also need you to bring back everyone who was killed by Beerus during the epic bender he went on when he realized how stupid the last arc was."

I mean, in Moori's case, he straight up said that he removed the mass revival limitation from the new Namekian Dragon Balls at some point after they relocated to New Namek.

[up][up][up] "Bring back everyone who was killed in the last [time period]." Done.

I believe Shenron only has those restrictions because Dende reactivated and powered up the old Dragon Balls. If memory serves, he said he could make ones with mass revival, basically infinite revival, and three wishes but it'd take some time and the others felt like they needed the Dragon Balls right now for whatever reason.

Nah. The limit on revivals isn't brought up until after the balls are made.

The time limit thing was creating a new set versus using the old set. With 100 days, he could have made a completely original set of Dragon Balls, but there is no word on the powers those would have.

Hmm. It'd have to be better if he made them from scratch, though. After all, if that wasn't the case, why would he even suggest it first?

Maybe they'd be bigger.

Having bigger balls ain't bad.

[up][up] Well he doesn't really offer it, so much as tell them how long it takes when they ask if he can make Dragon Balls.

I think that it wouldn't make a difference, because he specifically had to add back the "mass revival" capability instead of it being carried over from the previous ruleset. So it seems like using the dragon as a template was just that, and the rules come from Dende more-so than the existing set.

So, since the limitation is solely on Dende, he just needs to hit the magic gym more often.

Another interesting thing is that the recharge period for the Dragon Balls seems completely arbitrary yet no one seems to bother talking about it.

As far as arbitrary time periods go, a year is such a solid number it doesn't click to ask about it.

Bulma and Vegeta, they did get married at some point, right? When exactly was this?

I mean, there's seven years before Buu we know nothing about. She could have printed some papers out at City Hall and had him sign his space signature on the way into the Gravity Chamber.

Did anyone say they were married during the Buu saga? I know they refer to each other as husband and wife in Super, but I don't recall if someone said they were married during Buu.

I mean. At that point I'm not sure how much it would have mattered to either of them. More a convenience and tax thing at that stage.

Vegeta calls Bulma his wife in the Boo arc, when he's chewing Goku out for offering a kiss from Bulma to Old Kaioshin.

However, Trunks also refers to Bulma as Vegeta's wife, when they didn't get married in his timeline. So it could be de facto, using 'wife' out of convenience.

A ceremony would be funny, but I really doubt Vegeta would agree to one. I wonder what a Saiyan wedding ceremony is like, assuming they even had them.

The wife punches the groom in the face as hard as she can. The groom then punches the wife in the gut as hard as he can. If neither of them falls over, the wedding is a success.

According to Dragon Ball Minus, mating for life was rare among non-royalty Saiyans.

Which means it does happen. And Vegeta is royalty so that also means that it's expected of him.

Maybe Vegeta would've gotten in arranged marriage if his race didn't die off.

I wonder if the lack of female Saiyan survivors was intentional or coincidentally convenient on Freeza's part.

I doubt any society in which mating for life is a rarity would ever develop the concept of arranged marriages. Or marriage in general, honestly. Why would any special ceremony intended to bond two people for life exist in a culture where 90% of the population consider it a stupid idea?

A Saiyan "marriage" likely consists of hooking up with someone and then just continuing to do so with the same partner forever.

They are a space fairing race so they probably learned of the concept from some other race. Maybe even the Truffles.
