I'm pretty sure one of the Death Notes rules is you can't make someone kill someone else. Trying just makes it default to heart attack.
You can't make someone kill someone else but you can make someone be killed by someone else, so long as you leave that other party vague enough that the fate-shaping Death Note can fill the detail in from there.
So, you could not write, "Gohan kills Cell and then has a heart attack and dies." You also can't write, "Cell is killed by Gohan." But you can write, "Cell is killed by a child," and leave it up to the Note to determine what child and how he's killed by him/her. If it is possible for a child to kill Cell, then that will occur.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Having just read through all 66 "How to Use" pages, there is no rule stating that you cannot have murder be the cause of death. The only rule is that the cause of death cannot directly or indirectly kill other humans.
If you want to read them yourself.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Sort of. He was also really egotistical and constantly wrote himself into corners because he prioritized "Prove to everyone how awesome I am" over "Actually achieve my goal".
Like, the only reason it was even possible to investigate him in the first place is because L put a decoy on TV to make fun of Light, which bruised his precious ego and provoked him into killing the decoy. The broadcast was limited to a specific region, however, so when the decoy was killed, it immediately revealed Light's general area.
Light makes a lot of mistakes like that, up to and including revealing himself to dying adversaries in their final moments so that they know he was the one who beat them. This is ultimately his undoing; when he assumes that Near and the rest of the task force have been written into the Death Note, he pre-emptively gloats, "Well, Near, it looks like I've won." It's possible he might have been able to convince the task force of his innocence yet again had he not been so eager to brag about his awesomeness.
Instead, he gleefully unmasks himself only to find out Near's outfoxed him, they aren't dying, and there's no way to put the mask back on.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Ah, back in the 90's when every action series, including dubs, were hard-wired into Totally Radical mode. I remember the "mondo cool" scene, but I don't remember exactly where it's from. I'd bet it was Ocean, though.
Where is "you are most unkind" from?
As funny as that re-enactment is, it's incredibly in-jokey, which I assume is why it wasn't used. Studios only like in-jokeyness to an extent, especially with popular series.

Most of it is. Some of it isn't. There several gags there that are only comprehensible if you happened to be watching the series in the 90's (the HFIL gag most obviously). And... yeah. Studios hate that, even in cases where they know the majority of the fanbase would get the joke, unless the series as a whole is gaggy - because for those that don't get it, it's basically dead air.
The more popular a series is (and thus, the more new fans a series attracts) the less likely something like that is going to air.

"You are most un-kind" is a DBZ Abridged line...
In-jokes aplenty...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.
