The Death Note kills a person whose name is written down in about a minute afterwards. You have to have their face in mind, though, to avoid situations where there might be multiple people with the same name.
The default method of death is via heart attack, incidentally, though you can be more specific during the minute long interval to add a specific method of death if you want.

Well in that case, they probably could have picked a better fighter. The best of these subvert expectations (Cell actually playing Duel Monsters, Kenshiro getting the upper hand on Cell) and that seemed fairly by-the-numbers.
Also, why Willem Dafoe?

This song needs more love. It's an interesting question, actually - default cause of death via the Death Note is a heart attack, but what if a heart attack is simply incapable of killing the person?
Anyway, not their best (honestly, this one would have never even crossed my mind), but creepy live action Ryuk makes it worth the price of admission.
...Which was nothing, so hey, bonus.

Oh God! Natural light!Death Note tries to kill Cell from heart attack > fails, resorts to failure condition "kill victim with heart attack" > fails, repeat
'Infinite value' is a joke from vidya games/card games about loops that technically provide infinite value for your resources but usually just create a pointless loop
Since Death note takes place in a world of humans, it's probably most accurate to say that the heart attack is its default kill method for humans.
Being that it's an artifact of doom made by death gods, it's possible that it has other methods that it could use as the default for beings that could survive its default method for humans. Because the one thing common to all the things it can do to someone whose name is written innit is that it results in death.
I have a message from another time...Haven't watched the video yet and pretty much scrolled to the bottom of the screen but
oh no they f'cking didn't-
I didn't even consider Death Note Abridged. More importantly they can mash Death Note into the Cell Game but not One Punch Man?
EDIT:
Shame it wasn't Team Dattebayo

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!That one was kinda weak.
Though Cell having more than one heart doesn't shock me. It's not something I considered, but I'm not surprised either.
Huh. So that's why it's so different each time. Kinda a shame we never see that version that you mention (where Goku stores it in his body) actually work on anyone.
One Strip! One Strip!I didn't expect Cell's heart to actually stop - the Death Note explicitly affects human beings so Cell's reaction surprised me. Subversive in that A) the Death Note actually worked, and B) now we know Cell has multiple hearts.
Most of it was just Cell ripping on Light though but I still chuckled.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I liked it in that it was sorta the reverse of Cell vs Kenshiro in that both Kenshiro and Loght are known for inflicting instant death on their opponent. Lights could have worked, if he had told the Death Note to just have Cell fly into the Sun and stay there untill he dies, but he was Lazy and cocky, so he died.

Dammit, Ryuk.
The legend has returned.
