Isn't Space Gordon just Captain Gordon, Defender of Earth. Or something?

[up][up]I'm still upset they haven't been seen around Laharl since the first game (and Infinite, I guess).

My guess is that Cell needed to eat, but lost that need after he absorbed Lapis and Lazuli, and their infinite energy engines along with them.

...Why did Cell need both Androids, anyway? I mean, there's infinite energy, or finite energy. There's no such thing as two infinities.

Namekian biology is still stupid.

YMMV. Arguably the same could be said for saiyans, Freeza's race, and humans. One gets stronger when they get close to death, another can survive as the consistency of cheese cubes, and at least two of them have external male genatailia that can be exploited as a weakspot.

I'm pretty sure Namekians would agree that that last one seems dumb, from their perspective.

Cell doesn't have infinite energy, even in his perfect form. He needed the power from both of them, because neither were strong enough individually.

Which is just weird. Two infinite energy generators = finite energy? I've joked in the past about the protagonists' battle powers creating an overflow error in physics and dumping them back down to 0, but that might actually be what happened here. Infinity + Infinity = #ERROR.

I like the theory TFS mentioned in some of their LP's. That Nemekians were the end result of a lot of Dragon Ball Abuse. "I wish we didn't need to eat." "I wish we didn't need to have sex to reproduce." "I wish we could heal from any injury."

Lapis and Lazuli themselves clearly have a finite energy output, they may never tire out from using their max but their strength still very clearly was not "infinite" in the sense of "increasing forever".

[up] That.

Infinite energy =/= infinite battle power.

If you spend enough time, a bucket can fill any receptacle.

IIRC Majin Buu similarly has infinite stamina due to his regenerative properties but, as is the case with the androids, this does not translate to an infinite battle power. At least, I think he does. I might be wrong on that.

I'd say your right if we consider the Buu battle near the end of the saga. Fat Buu held out longer than most, but his well ran dry, while Pure / Kid / whatever the hell we're calling him now Buu still had plenty in the tank.

The whole point of the infinite energy generators was that 17 and 18 would never get tired. So the question then becomes, did Semi-Perfect or Perfect Cell ever get TIRED?

Perhaps the energy requirements Cell needs to properly function is greater than the unlimited portions of energy provided by 17 and 18, and thus if running on the energy provided by them, gets tired.

Yeah, an infinite energy generator is just something that never stops generating energy. It doesn't dictate what it's maximum output is.

Theoretically they could start charging a beam attack and never stop, as a kind of makeshift spirit bomb.

And it can't be sensed like Ki, so it could be a stealth spirit bomb.

"How long were you charging that?"
"Long enough."

Can they, though? Are they really Tim Taylor Technology with infinite output? Even if they have theoretical infinite energy reserves, that doesn't mean that their output doesn't have a limit.

The guys knew about the Cell games ten days in advance. Do you think, say, Krillin, if he had used all that time to charge up a single attack, could have killed Cell with it? Assuming that he hit. Cell probably would have been fast enough to dodge.
