Now there's a glowing review if ever I heard one.
(No, I still have nothing meaningful to contribute to this topic. Sorry.)

...Is there something wrong with me if I think Maria Holic is funny on some level?
Or is it my sense of humor? (FYI: I'd like to see that kind of parody for Boys' Love, with a Gender Flip for everyone. But then again, I don't get why being queer is Serious Business for everyone save me.)
Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell's afraid I'll take over.Kashimashi Girl Meets Girl manga is better than the anime, at least IMNSHO.
Welcome to the Sea of ChaosI had no idea that the Kannazuki No Miko mythos had some kind of continuity via Kyoshiro To Towa No Sora and latterly Zettai Shoujo Seiiki Amnesian...
Are these any good?

Play Again? Y/NI consider Kyoshiro To Towa No Sora one of the worst animes I've ever seen. The only possible redeeming factor was the yuri element (which unfortunately isn't that prominent).
Zettai Shoujo Seiiki Amnesian sounds interesting and that's another manga on my to read list. The buzz from it sounds suggests you're not supposed to take it too seriously.
and that's how Equestria was made! Can't wait for Sasameki Koto's ch. 31 as we've been fooled twice by the scanlator. 8D Oh God.

Maria Holic's main crime was that it was not funny enough. Studio Shaft's randomness was not an acceptable substitute.
It did inspire this blog post
,and for that I thank it.
I'm this close to buying Sono Hanabira Ni Kuchizuke Wo. It's only about USD$20, which I suppose won't bankrupt me.
Play Again? Y/NJapanese or English, zeroplusalpha? And if it's the second, SUBS FUCKING WHERE?
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.So why does everyone have a hard-on for Shoujo Sect? I couldn't get into it.
You are not alone, and you are not strange. You are you, and everyone has damage. Be the better person.I found the backstory to be nice. Haven't read the manga though because I'm always in a NSFW zone (haven't been able to play any eroge lately too 'cause of that).
My FF.net accountWell, since you ask: I haven't seen it or read it, and have little-to-no interest in doing so, if that makes you feel any better. That isn't to say that I wouldn't like it if I did, though. I'm kind of afraid that I would, actually.

This last chapter was fairly sweet although I tend to feel guilty reading Gokujou Drops and even more so than I do reading straight out porn. Mind you, I don't understand why Yukio would keep that a secret from Komari for so long.
and that's how Equestria was made!@ Shoujo Sect:
Plus the anime's kind of incomplete.
Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell's afraid I'll take over. This is very much in the realm of Complaining About A Genre I Don't Watch, so feel free to ignore me, but I've always found that strikingly similar to the "I read it for the articles" defense. Though I don't know, maybe there is genuinely well-written pornography, and I shouldn't complain until I've watched it. The hard part would be getting myself to watch it in the first place.
(I'm not necessarily talking about the anime or the manga there, but I phrased it as if it were just the anime, for the sake of having sentence construction that's even remotely sane.)

For what it's worth, I think most of the pornographic Sono Hanabira Ni Kuchizuke Wo series is very well written. In particular, my favourite was the fourth game. One of the strengths of the series is it covers the part of the relationship that often gets neglected in romantic stories. That is, the part of the relationship after the hookup.
and that's how Equestria was made!

Summary: "Boy who crossdresses for ridiculous reasons blackmails lesbian who acts similar to a teenage boy. Nosebleeds, homophobic slurs, sexual harassment, threatened rape, and a complete absence of hilarity ensues."
