For Only the Leads Get a Happy Ending, Pyrrhic Victory and Everybody's Dead, Dave Anime And Manga:
- The Kindaichi Case Files: The episode "Ijinkan Village Murder Case" ends with Hajime manages to solve the murder case. However, only the main characters (Hajime and Miyuki) surviving, while the suspects and guest characters (except the Rokkaku village figurehead servants and police) are all dead, including Wakaba (Hajime's schoolmate and one of the figureheads' daughters) and Odagiri (the teacher of the school Hajime attends)note . The culprit Rokusei also dies at the hands of Kazamatsuri (one of the figureheads who is revealed to be his father) to stop him from killing more people, and then the latter shot himself for self-atonement.note
For No Adaptations Allowed Anime And Manga:
- The Kindaichi Case Files: There are two cases from the manga that can't be made into anime adaptations: "Ijinkan Village Murder Case" and "The School of The Hanging Necks Murder Case". The former is obviously a rip-off to Tokyo Zodiac Murders (especially the murder tricks) and suffers Too Bleak, Stopped Caring trope where it's revealed that both victims and the culprit (and his parents) aren't so different in terms of atrocities, leading to a bleak ending where only main characters, village figurehead servants and police are alive. The latter has bullying being a major motive of the culprit, and bullying is a serious concern in Japan. Both of them have Teacher/Student Romance, which is a controversial subjectnote . Despite all of these, both cases managed to be adapted into live-action series. (for a short time in case of "Ijinkan Village Murder Case")

"No matter how bad the heroes can get or how bad the situation is, we're sure we can overcome it and get our happy endings..."@Arivne thanks.
The Simpsons S10E22 "They Saved Lisa's Brain"
- Everyone Has Standards: Before Frink announces his idea of banning "barbaric sports", to include almost any kind of sport, he gains the town's approval with a decision to ban bullfighting and cockfighting, indicating that even Springfield's idiotic citizens disapprove of them.
The Simpsons S12E19 "I'm Goin' to Praiseland"
- Everyone Has Standards:
- Homer is willing to keep the truth about the gas leak a secret until he sees the orphans lighting candles near it.
- Not realizing that Homer and Flanders were pushing the orphans away from the gas leak to keep them from igniting it with candles, the people of Springfield assume the duo were assaulting the orphans and are disgusted with them.
- The Rich Texan learns the park had been tricking people into sniffing a gas leak offscreen and, while he is an amoral businessman, even he doesn't approve.
- Screw the Money, I Have Rules!: Flanders initially doesn't want to charge people money for what he thinks is a miracle from God until Marge points out he could use the money for a good cause. He still does not like the idea since he is aware sniffing gas fumes is dangerous, and abandons the idea when the orphans try to light candles near the gas leak.
The Simpsons S13 E5: "The Blunder Years"
- Not Me This Time: The sewer tunnel leads into Burn's office, so everyone assumes he committed a murder. Surprisingly, Burns is completely innocent and had the corpse thrown in the tunnel to create a cover-up for its own sake.
The Dreaded: While most beings do not know of the Shadows’ existence at the start of the series, the ones who do are terrified of them.
Improbable Aiming Skills: Either thanks to the Shadows being incredible shots or their ships having amazing targeting systems, the single gun on their ship can hit small fighters as easily as warships. It is a shock to the protagonists the first time they see the Shadows miss a target because, in past battles, they never miss.
Lightning Bruiser: Their ships are fast despite their size, require massive amounts of firepower to destroy, and a solid hit from the Energy Weapon is instant death for any ship they come across.
When All You Have Is a Hammer…: Shadow warships only have their single Energy Weapon for an armament, and by and large it is all they need since it is competent in acting as an Anti-Air weapon or anti-ship weapon.

under the XY Section:
- Did Alain deserve to keep his Kalos Championship title in spite of his role in Team Flare's plan? Defenders of Alain feel it's unfair to strip away Alain's title considering Team Flare's plan was only tangentially related to the league, Alain immediately turned on Lysandre upon learning Lysandre's full goals, and Alain had already demonstrated a mastery of Mega Evolution and battling. Other fans however point out that even if Alain was manipulated he still knowingly partook in criminal activity such as kidnapping Ash. These fans also argue against the notion that Alain being able to use Mega Evolution is a point towards his battle prowess, noting for all the talk about Mega Evolution being difficult to master, Korrina in the anime is the only person in the entire franchise who struggled to use it. Those against Alain's title also cite that the Mega Ring that was the key to Alain's victory was a gift from Lysandre making it impossible to separate Alain's battle prowess from his terrorist affiliation.

- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: When she is first introduced, Nancy seems like a nice lady, but that changes when Jeffy explains she was the reason for his naughty behavior.
- Mad Scientist: Granny Peters fits this trope due to her creations.

@ Jeremiah
- In "Tripwire", when Jeremiah, Markus, and Kurdy visit Danbury the second time, they see the broken glasses of Blind Seer Damien, who is nowhere to be seen as his boss nervously cuts ties with Thunder Mountain after having clearly been intimidated by the Valhalla Sector. Whether Damien was killed, kidnapped, or just beaten up to apply that intimidation is never revealed.
@ Jeremiah
- In "Mother of Invention":
- Jeremiah and Kurdy embody Those Two Guys as they talk about how fun it is outside in the rain, while in full Sarcasm Mode. Then when they protest about how tough it will be working with another team, Markus agrees it will be a burden, for the people he is sending with them. Jeremiah and Kurdy then argue about which one of them is responsible for failing to charm Markus.
- Jeremiah and Kurdy talk about how much they liked watching the Star Wars movies, then both struggle to remember the title.
- In "Tripwire":
- Erin asks if Jeremiah is always in such a bad mood, and Kurdy replies, "Only when he’s awake."
- Jeremiah gets confused at why Kurdy is so focused on the butt of a dead assassin (with a nearby guard giving them a Mistaken for Gay look) until Kurdy explains he is noticing how the man is wearing underwear manufactured since the Big Death.
- In "Ring of Truth":
- Jeremiah tells Kurdy that some mushrooms Kurdy gathers in the woods for dinner are dangerous. Kurdy says he knows a way to tell the difference between good and bad mushrooms: the bad ones will kill you. Then, they proceed to go on a Mushroom Samba, talking about big birds, game shows, and the like. Then, the next morning, Jeremiah gets a Cassandra Truth reaction after walking Kurdy and telling him that an elephant just walked through their camp.
- A shady Large Ham fight promoter allied with Rasmussen introduces Kurdy (who has just challenged a Giant Mook) as "The Living Death Wish".
- In "Moon in Gemini":
- Kurdy and Elizabeth agree to watch each others' behinds on a mission and Kurdy jokes that he has the better end of the deal.
- A duel with lances takes a brief farcical turn when Jeremiah swings his like a club and it gets caught in a chandelier.
- In "A Means to an End", overly dramatic music plays loudly for almost a minute as Theo enters the Thunder Mountain bathroom and starts taking advantage of having running water for the first time in fifteen years.
- In "To Sail Beyond the Stars", Kurdy helps a pregnant woman feed herself and give birth and she in turn hides him from goons who try to kill him.
- "Thieves’ Honor", the Thunder Mountain council vote to only give a light punishment to a man who broke the rules to contact his sister outside of the mountain.
- In "Mother of Invention", Jeremiah reunites with an old flame, learns he might have a son, and forms an alliance with her while offering to safeguard the art she has saved in an atmosphere-controlled room at Thunder Mountain.
- In "Ring of Truth", the friendship Jeremiah and Kurdy form with two prostitutes has some surprisingly touching moments as they help each other out throughout the episode in a largely platonic sense (at least compared to most women Jeremiah and Kurdy meet).
- In Moon in Gemini:
- Erin's seemingly untrustworthy twin sister spends years gathering all of their mother's jewlery from various people who bought it as a present to Erin.
- In Out of the Ashes
- In the A plot, Kurdy teaches an illiterate librarian how to read.
- In the B plot, Jeremiah helps a women in a wheelchair go to a river to scatter her father's ashes, which are blown down to the river in a brief yet beautifully filmed sequence.
- "A Means to an End" has a scene that is both heartwarming and a tearjerker. Markus's rival Andrew has an opportunity to let a lie that would force Markus out of power stand, but instead reveals the truth, accepts moral responsibility for causing a conflict that left his brother paralyzed, resigns from the council and leaves to take care of his brother. When Lee comments that the best man just won the struggle between Markus and Andrew, Markus solemnly says "And he just left the room."
- Blind Seer: In "Tripwire", Damien has at least one blind eye (the other seems to have some sight) due to being prematurely born to a dying mother. He is said to have such good instincts about who to trust that the townspeople insist on having him accompany whoever they elect leader. He also correctly insinuates that Markus is in danger of dying within a minute of meeting him.
- Everybody Lives: A small number of the show's thirty-five episodes end without anyone dying.
- "Mother of Invention" is the first episode where no one dies or is even injured, regardless of their moral alignment (minus one character talking about how her family died in the Big Death).
- While characters get beaten up in "Ring of Truth", "A Means to an End", and "Out of the Ashes", no one dies in those episodes.
- First-Name Basis: Thunder Mountain characters use their full names more freely than people outside of their Hidden Elf Village (although there are some exceptions, like Cord Geary from "Red Kiss" and Jimmy Holcomb and the Davenport brothers from "The Bag").
- Theo: Our last names died with the old world.
- Someone to Remember Him By: Gender-Inverted in "Tripwire". Blind Seer Damien is the son of a victim of the Big Death who was born just as his mother died of the disease.
- In "Mother of Invention", Jeremiah and Michelle meet in a flashback and talk about their losses. The most painful parts are Jeremiah feeling that he let his dad down by not protecting his brother, and the camera having a closeup of Michelle as she talks about her little sister’s Death by Despair after the Big Death.
- In "Tripwire", Jeremiah and Ezekiel talk and Jeremiah learns that while his father is alive and misses him in the Valhalla Sector, his mother is dead. The same conversation also has Ezekiel mourn the death of his father and how he accidentally killed the world by creating the Big Death.
- In "A Means to an End", Andrew, The Starscream (in a Remember the New Guy? way, and with peachy and democratic methods) at Thunder Mountain is crushed when his brother takes his isolationist views too far, tries to frame a visitor for theft, and is paralyzed (possibly for life) in the ensuring fight. His brother begs him to keep this secret and expel outsiders so that his paralysis means something, while talking about how Andrew carried him to Thunder Mountain while he was starving and begged to be let in, not realizing this is just making Andrew feel guilty and selfish about his own goals and their outcome.
@ Jeremiah
- In "Mother of Invention", the scene that reveals how self-sufficient Michelle and her community are (fishing, hydroelectric generators, etc.) and the reveals that she is both the Mouth of Sauron of the community and the leader (enabling her to play mind games with their enemies and make allies less guarded about talking in front of her). Then, to top it all off, she reveals that she already knows where and what Thunder Mountain is due to collecting information and that she holds them in contempt for their earlier isolationist tendencies but is doing the same thing as them (giving tools, blueprints, and crops to other places) and knew Jeremiah and Kurdy were coming even before they arrived.
- In "Tripwire":
- Ezekiel fights a sniper shooting at Jeremiah and Markus, kills the man, and then vanished before any first responders come despite having a bullet in his leg.
- Kurdy does a Sherlock Scan over a dead Valhalla Sector assassin, and points out that the fact that the man has new underwear proves the Valhalla Sector has unprecedented resources and is also confident enough with their arsenal to divert those resources manufacturing.
- In Moon in Gemini:
- Two nimble men dueling each other on foot with lances actually provides a tense, closely matched battle that is mostly played seriously.
- Black separatist leader Kwame stands between a gun-totting Overzealous Underling and Kurdy and Elizabeth to keep his paranoid companion from shooting the Thunder Mountain ambassadors.
- In "Out of the Ashes", a group of library patrons armed with blunt instruments arrive to back up Kurdy and the librarian against book burners. When the lead thug tries to bluster this isn't over, Kurdy steps up to firmly tell him
Yes it is
- Hard-Drinking Party Girl: They host a college party where they make some flighty comments about sorority life and Sidney. According to the script, they say a lot of that because they are plastered at the time.

- Dance Party Ending: The movie ends with Lilith, Chicket and the titular ten mistresses having a party, dancing and drinking while the polices arrived to investigate the murders.
- Honey Trap:It revealed that Lilith seduces Valentin into becoming his future second wife as part of her revenge plan against him and his twin brother Constantin for their mistreatment of Valentin late wife Charo.
- The Killer in Me: Secretive Killer type. Lilith is revealed to be (one of) Don Valentin's killer who's pretends to solve Valentin's murder and later kills his twin brother Constantin while framing him as the killer.
- Taught by Television: Chicket noticed that Valentin's corpse is pink which is a sign of cyanide poisoning despite Lady H claims that they use rat poison pulls to kill Valentin. Because Chicket learn it from the an actual show that she's the fan of called Sherlock Jr.
- Everybody Did It: Downplayed. While Lady H and Lilith did put poisons pills in Valentin's medicine box, It revealed in the end that Helga and Babet also put poison pills in Valentin's medicine box. Meaning that 3 out of 10 mistresses beside Lilith (who is Valentin's majordomo and his fiancé) were guilty of killing Valentin.

- Solid Clouds: The game has clouds serving as platforms.
- First Installment Wins: Sort of. While later games in the series are often regarded by fans and critics as being far superior, Dream Land is undeniably the most iconic title in the series besides Kirby Super Star, with even those who have otherwise not played the rest of the series having at least played Dream Land at some point. This is best reflected in its sales, as it had sold 5.13 million copies worldwide by 2010 and would hold the title for best selling game in the franchise for 30 straight years until it was toppled and surpassed by Kirby and the Forgotten Land in 2023.

@Arivine So what you're saying is everything on the page should be in the present tense? As it was already in the past tense. As for John Vito & Jill since the description is filed under their name doesn't that show they are the dating couple, not her and her brother FT? If not would it be better to say "Jill originally applied with a different partner, her brother FT."

He is incinerated on the spot by Ra, although his death also turns many others against Ra and makes them desert at the first opportunity.

Characters/Yellowstone
John Dutton
- They Just Don't Get It: Toward Beth.
- He is obvious to the fact that Beth's obsessive loyalty to him and her aggressive behavior stem from her past traumas. He claims that she must be evil, because that is the best way she has to help the family, and even admits that he envies her nonchalant attitude toward rules, not realizing that she would be much happier with the prospect of not being what she has become.
- When he learns that she did not turn to him for help when she was pregnant, he is shocked to discover that she did not trust him enough to tell him the truth. He does not understand that Beth feels that the last thing she did to her mother was disappoint her, so now she cannot bear the thought that she might disappoint him as well.
- Foil: With Rip.
- Both are Well Done Son Guys toward John, but while the latter proves to appreciate much more Rip's attempts to prove his loyalty, the best Jamie can hope for, even when he does exactly what John tasked him to do, is not being chastised for doing it in the wrong way.
- Both were not born at the Dutton Ranch, and now live a life they were forced into, because while Rip became a cowboy only because it was the only way he had to stay at the Yellowstone after losing his family, Jamie was adopted by the Duttons and wanted to become a cowboy, but instead John forced him to become a lawyer. The difference is that while Rip's life has brought him closer and closer to the Duttons, until he became a member of their family when he married Beth, Jamie's life as a lawyer, on the other hand, contributed to gradually distancing him from them.
- Ambiguously Bi: In two different occasions she recalls how she had sex with other women, but if this means that she is attracted to women is not proven, as she recounts these events while speaking to someone she wants to intimidate and she emphasizes that the women she claims to have had sex with were with men with whom Beth was doing business at the time, therefore, if what she said is true, she may have seduced them just to spite their men.
- Hypocrite: Among the many things she berates Jamie for is that he always questions John's decisions, claiming that this is proof that Jamie isn't loyal to their father. The hypocrisy lies in the fact that Beth is aware that many of John's decisions are questionable, but she is so obsessed with not disappointing him that she cannot dare question them as much as Jamie does. This also means that when she accuses Jamie of acting like a "Well Done, Son" Guy she is right, but conveniently forgets, or blatantly ignores that she is so even more than he is.
