Thanks.

@ Supergirl (1984)

@ Sunnydale High
  • Informed Attribute: Gwen is voted as the girl with the “Best Personality” in the Sunnydale High Yearbook, but in the show itself, she shows little independent personality besides striking up a conversation with a foreign exchange student.
  • Informed Attribute: In the Sunnydale High Yearbook, she is voted “Best Dressed” despite never being seen wearing anything but her cheerleading uniform during her brief screen time in the show.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: In the Sunnydale High Yearbook, the yearbook staff seem unaware of his crimes, prominently displaying a quote he made about the yearbook club and calling his loss a huge blow to technological advancement.
  • Nice Guy: Ben is fairly nice to Buffy while asking her out (although that being said, since it was a Sadie Hawkins Dance it was a bit forward to ask the girl out instead of waiting for her to ask) and accepting her refusal. In the Sunnydale High Yearbook, he is voted the boy with the “Best Personality”.
  • Perpetual Smiler: She is always smiling during her brief screen-time, and while she is trying to win votes and excited at being Homecoming Queen respectively in those scenes, she is also voted as being the girl with the “Best Smile” in the Sunnydale High Yearbook.
  • Chick Magnet: While it is unclear if he returns their attention, the Sunnydale High Yearbook indicates that many girls find him attractive and he is voted as having the “Best Eyes”.
    Doug

Doug Jeffries

Portrayed By: Unknown actor
A football player Xander tries to impress in "The Zeppo".
  • Hidden Depths: According to the Sunnydale High Yearbook, he is shy around girls and plays chess.
  • Pet the Dog: He lets Xander join in tossing a football around for fun, albeit half heartedly, despite clearly not being friends with him.
  • The Voiceless: He has pronounced facial expressions but no dialogue.

@ Remington Steele

  • Pursued Protagonist:
    • "Steele Crazy After All These Years" begins with intercuts between a man running across a campus and looking over his shoulder and a woman lounging around her house. The man reaches the house and pounds on the door, begging to be let in, but when the woman responds to the cries, he is gone and his body is found a few scenes later.
@ Remington Steele
  • Acceptable Professional Targets: In "Steele's Gold", after one guest star talks about a family of Banditos who originally stole the eponymous gold, he says that she shudders to think of what they are up to now after terrorizing California for so long. Upon learning that the family are now used car salesman, he says "They've sunk that low?"
  • Broken Base: While everyone agrees that Murphy and Bernice were at least slightly underwhelming in season 1, some in the fanbase feel that developing them further would have helped the show better than replacing them with Mildred (who has a great introduction but who some fans eventually got tired off).
  • One-Scene Wonder: Schlubby rival detective Leo Blitzman from "Steele Among the Living" is a particularly memorable guest star due to his hilarious incompetence and his poignant speech about how he had always wanted to be a successful detective but has to take degrading jobs to pay his bills and expects to die alone in a charity ward. His confession to killing the Victim of the Week and peaceful surrender are also among the most notable Alas, Poor Villain moments in the show.

@ Proposal Thread

  • Toy Soldiers
    • Jack Thorpe is The Dragon for narcoterrorist Luis Cali and assists him in taking a boarding school hostage to get Cali's father released and other concessions from the American government. When Cali is furious and stalled over how the judge's son they wanted to kidnap is not at the school, Thorpe calms him down and proposes holding the whole student body hostage instead. He is in charge of headcounts to ensure that none of the hostages escape and is careful and thoroughly conscientious in this job. Throughout the film, he is willing to take steps to avoid unnecessary violence but is also willing to kill without remorse when those steps fail. When The Cavalry raid the school, Thorpe spends his last moments trying to fight back against heavy odds rather than flee or surrender.
    • Albert Trotta is The Don of New Jersey, whose wide influence is matched only by his infamy. He is gracious with his subordinates but merciless toward his enemies. His son Joey loathes his father for being a criminal, which Albert is sadly resigned to while still loving his son. When Joey and his classmates are kidnapped, Albert and his associates smuggle a message to the imprisoned Enrique Cali to influence Joey's release. When Joey is gunned down after refusing to be released and trying to rescue his friends instead, a grief-stricken Albert swiftly arranges for a riot in Enrique's maximum security detention facility to drive Enrique out of his cell where an assassin is waiting to kill him.

Grey's Anatomy

  • Artistic License – Medicine:
    • The protagonists are often able to perform all surgeries that are part of their specialty better than anyone else, since they are the best. In real life, even those who can truly be called world-class surgeons could never accomplish such a feat because the amount of experience needed would be too much. While they know most of the theoretical aspects of their specialty, a surgeon can be expert in treating specific organs or diseases, like a general surgeon who specializes in liver transplants or a plastic surgeon specialized in burns, but that is all.
    • Richard first and later Derek, Owen and Bailey fill the role of Chief of Surgery, who seems to be both the head of all surgical departments and the one who runs the hospital. In U.S. hospitals the Chief of Surgery is the head of only a single department (general, neuro, ped...), while the one who supervises the medical aspects of all the departments (not only the surgical ones) is the chief medical officer (CMO) and the one who runs the hospital is the chief executive officer (CEO).

Grey's Anatomy: SFD Station 19

Ben Warren

  • Foreshadowing: In season 9, he is the only one, along with Owen Hunt, a former U.S. Army combat medic and experienced trauma surgeon, who realizes that trying to saw through an iron bar with a grinder produces sparks and thus using it in an oxygen-filled room, like an OR, is a bad idea if proper precautions are not taken. Five seasons later, Ben realizes that his true calling is to be a firefighter, dealing with situations similar to this far more often than an anesthesiologist and a surgeon.

Interstellar

  • Foreshadowing: Prior to Lazarus' departure, Prof. Brand admits that, unlike Cooper, none of the crew has any real hands-on experience as astronauts. None of them are ready for the mission, but they are still the ones with the best chance of completing it successfully.
Prof. Brand: Cooper, I can't tell you any more unless you agree to pilot this craft. You're the best we ever had.
Cooper: I barely left the stratosphere.
Prof. Brand: This crew's never left the simulator...
At first it seems that the crew knows what they are doing, but then it becomes clear how much they do not, especially after Dr. Brand's mistake on Miller's planet. She herself admits it, later.
Dr. Brand: I thought I was prepared. I knew all the theory. Reality's different.

For Viewers in Mourning Anime And Manga:

  • The Kindaichi Case Files: In "Gentleman Thief The Killer", Sakura Izumi's motive followed by her suicide after being revealed as the culprit is so tragic (complete with her Dying Declaration of Love to Hajime and Hajime's Suicide Is Shameful rant that she should have chosen to live and make amends for her sins rather than killing herself when she dies) that most fans actually cry over it and wish that she didn't kill herself just because of what she had done. It helps that she's beautiful. Unfortunately, her fate remains unchanged in both the live-action series and its anime adaptations.
Hajime: (crying) You idiot... you said you were stained with blood? You can't go back to the lavender fields? If you live, you can make up for your sins... you can make new memories... right?

Spyro 2

  • Developer's Foresight: In Glimmer, if you try to access the flight power up inside the cave by using the other flight power up located outside, the power up duration will run out faster than intended, which is to make sure you can't access the power up inside the cave before learning to climb ladders. It's still possible with enough precision, however.
  • Stock Femur Bone: The talisman from Skelos Badlands looks like a classic cartoon bone.
  • Underground Monkey: We see three kinds of fauns in this game, and they all look quite different. Elora has a human-like upper body, while her lower body looks like it belongs to a white and brown anthropomorphic hooved animal, with a fox tail. She also has no horns, unlike other fauns. The fauns from Fracture Hills looks like anthro goats with blue-ish grey bodies. The fauns from Magma Cone also look like anthro goats, but they have more cartoon-ish proportions, a blue-ish grey upper body and a brown lower body. The Reignited Trilogy changes Elora's design by fully making her looks like an anthro deer. This makes her closer to the fauns from Fracture Hills, but with other colors and no horns.

Tintin: Tearjerkers (Prisoners of the sun)

  • When Tintin falls into the waterfall and doesn't emerge, Captain Haddock sits on a rock with a look of pure disbelief while Zorrino crys, both believing Tintin died and that they will never see him again.

Warcraft: Characters (WC 2 Mage / Death Knight)

  • Alien Blood: Death knights have green blood.
  • Blow You Away: Death knights can summon tornadoes.
  • Fireballs: Mages can shoot fireballs.
  • Fire, Ice, Lightning: Mages have three attacks based on thunder, fire and ice.
  • An Ice Person: The Mages' "blizzard" spell consist of summoning a rain of icicles.
  • In the Hood: Death knights wear colored cloaks with the hood over their heads. In their sprites, the death knights' faces are completely obscured, save for their eyes.
  • No Body Left Behind: They don't leave corpses when they die. This has a slight impact on gameplay because death knights can only bring back dead units as skeletons if said units leave corpses. When they die, mages turn into sparklings that disappear along with their clothes and staves, while death knights disolve into green blood that leaves no traces.
  • Life Drain: The death knights "death coil" spell drains their enemies' HPs.
  • Playing with Fire: Mages have a fireball spell.
  • Shock and Awe: Mages shoot lightning bolts for their basic attacks.
  • Unfriendly Fire: All of their spells can damage friendly units.

Warcraft 3 Units

Neutral Units

Golems

  • Anti-Magic: All Golem units are immune to spells as their creators don't want other wizards using magic to take control of them.
  • Golem: They are giant man-shaped constructs created by wizards and enchanted with spells to keep other wizards from controlling them, hence their Spell Immunity.

Harpies

  • Always Chaotic Evil: All harpies encountered in Warcraft III are evil creatures who kill for fun.
  • Blow You Away: Harpy Queens can cast Cyclone to temporarily remove enemies from combat.
  • Fragile Speedster: Weaker harpies are not especially tough or hard-hitting, but they are fast.
  • Harping on About Harpies: Their bodies are shaped like human women's, but their arms end in bird wings, and their legs from the calves down are those of birds.
  • Pointy Ears: Reforged added pointed ears to the Harpies' portraits to match their appearance in World of Warcraft.
  • Stripperiffic: Harpies have nothing beyond a few strips of cloth for clothing.

Heretics

Hydras

  • Asteroids Monster: Since Hydras growing heads after losing them isn't possible in the game's mechanics, whenever a Hydra dies, it spawns two of the weaker variants. These in turn spawn weaker Hydras when they are killed until there is nothing left by Hydra Hatchings, the weakest Hydra which doesn't spawn new enemies.
  • Extreme Omnivore: The Ancient Hydra has Devour, letting it swallow and digest any most any unit.
  • Healing Factor: Referencing the Hydra of Classical Mythology growing heads back after losing them, Hydras regenerate HP faster than other Creeps. The higher level of the Hydra, the faster they heal, with the strongest, the Ancient Hydra, regenerating more HP per second than some units can do in an attack.
  • Mighty Glacier: Ancient Hydras might be slow, but they have as HP as a Mountain Giant and hit harder than a siege unit.
  • Multiple Head Case: All Hydras have three heads.
  • Our Hydras Are Different: They are three-head amphibious reptiles.

Infernal Machines

Jungle Stalker

  • Palette Swap: In the original Warcraft III, they were a Palette Swap of the Wendigo creeps. Reforged gave them a more distinct plantlike appearance.

Kobolds

  • Our Kobolds Are Different: They are small aggressive rat creatures. As to be expected from their small size they are the weakest type of Creep in terms of stats.

Makrura

  • An Ice Person: Makrura Tidecallers can cast Frost Armor to boost the durability of themselves and their allies.
  • Aquatic Mook: Makrura appear on maps with a lot of water and can cross water like land.
  • Enemy Summoner: Makrura Deepseers can summon the weaker Makrura Prawns to temporarily fight for them.
  • Giant Enemy Crab: Or giant lobsters in their case. They have a humanoid upper body, but four lobster legs below the waist.
  • Herd-Hitting Attack: Makrura Tidal Lords have the Pit Lord's Cleaving Attack, causing their attacks to damage enemies in a small radius.
  • Top-Heavy Guy: From the chest up the Makrura are bulky lobstermen. From the torso down they are much skinnier, with their stomach and legs being thinner than their bulky claws.

Mammoths

Magnataur

Mur'gul

Murloc

  • The Goomba: Murlocs are some of the first enemies encountered in the tutorial campaign and are easily among the weakest Creeps.

Mutants

  • Body Horror: The Dalaran Mutant in the original Warcraft III has an oddly shaped head with a jaw bone that stretches down past its neck. In Reforged it has a more zombie-like appearance with crystals growing out of its back.

Nerubians

  • Animate Dead: Many of the Nerubians can cast Raise Dead to create Skeleton Warriors from corpses.
  • Giant Spider: Massive centaur-like spiders in their case.
  • Palette Swap: Of Crypt Fiends, as Crypt Fiends are undead Nerubians.
  • The Remnant: Nerubians encountered as Creeps are what remains of an empire wiped out by the Scourge.

N'raqi

Worshippers of the Old Gods called Faceless Ones by the Nerubians.

Ogre

  • Carry a Big Stick: As opposed to using their fists like in Warcraft II, all Ogres carry large clubs.
  • Elaborate Equals Effective: In Reforged, the more powerful the Ogre, the fancier their club gets.
  • Informed Ability: The Ogres are supposedly very strong. The basic Ogre Warrior is actually weaker than a Footman or Grunt, both of whom are much smaller than them.
  • Multiple Head Case: All Ogres have two heads, which are prone to arguing with each other.
  • Shoulders of Doom: The Ogre Lord in Reforged has massive armor plates on his shoulders.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: All the Ogres besides the Ogre Lord are bare-chested in the original game. Reforged changes their appearance so only an Ogre Warrior is like this, the Ogre Magi having a rob that covers part of his upper body, and the Mauler wearing armor like the Ogre Lord.

Quillboar

  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Quillboars are essentially humanoid boars with spins like porcupines.
  • Pig Man: They are a race of humanoid boars who shoot can fire quills.
  • Summon Magic: Razormane Medicine Men can use Feral Spirit, though rather than summoning wolves they summon boars.

Renegade Wizards

  • An Ice Person: Rogue Wizards can cast Frost Armor to boost the armor of other units.
  • Animate Dead: The Dark Wizard can cast Raise Dead to create Skeleton Warriors.
  • Baleful Polymorph: The Dark Wizard can cast Polymorph, temporarily keeping targets from attacking or using abilities.
  • Grumpy Old Man: They all share audio with the Archmage so their quotes paint them as total grouches.
  • Lightning Bruiser: The Dark Wizard is much faster than the weaker creeps of this type on top of being the strongest.
  • Palette Swap: The Apprentice Wizard is one of the Priest, the rest are a Palette Swap of the Archmage.
  • Shock and Awe: The Renage Wizard uses Purge and Lightning Shield, both spells involving electricity.

Thank you Arivne for helping me with the English spelling. I have fixed the spelling. The reason why I was unable to do so yesterday was because someone else suspended me from this thread, and I didn't know who did so. Thank you for helping me get rid of the wishy-washy parts of my example.

What's the work? The Hohenzollern Empire, Part 5: Holy Phoenix, where the Reich has been destroyed and replaced with a Christofascist dictatorship called the Holy Roman Empire of Jerusalem. Out of the multiple "monsters" in Jerusalem. This guy, Engelbert von Haynau, The Butcher of Lithuania takes the cake!

Who is Von Haynau? What has he done?

Engelbert von Haynau, The Butcher of Lithuania, is trying to kill almost all Lithuanians, as well as other minorities in Livonia. He has the equipment effectiveness of a 4-Star 1939-1942 American general. Some of his equipment is more modern and effective than that, but most of it is a lot less effective than that. This is justified, as equipment in The Holy Roman Empire of Jerusalem is INSANELY unequally distributed. He has an army of up to hundreds of thousands of soldiers. He slowly wears down Konstantinov, a general trying to avenge his homeland, until Konstantinov eventually is defeated. At one point, he destroys the capital of Livonia, Vilnius, using missiles, killing all of the civilians that are still in it. He is offended by everything Livonian. He has enough control over his own soldiers that once he commands them to freeze, they all freeze. His ego is so pompous that he believes that killing almost everyone, leaving only Boris's men alive to be humiliated, imprisoned, tortured, and possibly get turned into zoo humans almost forever, with Livonia unconditionally surrendering to Jerusalem, is a GENEROUS OFFER!

Heinous Standard: Complete Monster. The Let's Play has many figures that aren't Complete Monsters like Josh, so what makes Von special? Von does what Josh has done, even though Von has insufficient or less effective equipment than Josh had. Even though Von is in the 2030's, he makes do as with what he has been given with ruthless efficiency. Von uses modern tactics, usually with outdated weapons. Von is the first general in Jerusalem that's NOT Elias shown to simply blow up a city with a missile, which is all he can have, as Von has no access to nukes. He meets the standards.

Final Verdict? Yes! This guy, Von is a Complete Monster, and there is no doubt about it!

Mitigating Factors: No, there is absolutely no mitigating factors for that. the Panopticon is something that is usually completely controlled by Theodor. Theodor controls Jerusalem's military using these little implants called Panopticons which enhance strength, numb pain, and keep people out of reality in a way that makes them unable to smell blood. This is not mitigating, because Von had enough control over his soldiers to make a peace deal, all on his own. This is why this is not a mitigating factor at all, and Von is a Complete Monster. It is revealed that a person who has a strong enough will and can still do stuff by their own will, and the Panopticon is thus in essence an enhancer and a nullifier, not an effective brainwashing tool. As a result, it is only a More than Mind Control device and, the generals still have agency over 80 percent of their actions, as Theodor is too busy looking at the Persian front and Elias to look at Livonia, or to monitor the activities and/or actions of the soldiers in Livonia.

YMMV.Fraggle Rock

  • Misaimed Marketing: In late 2022, The Jim Henson Company would partner up with Tibles (an NFT vendor) to make a series of NFTs dedicated to Fraggle Rock. However, as many fans and Tough Pigs have pointed out, this blatantly goes against the morals of the show, as Fraggle Rock is a very pro-environmentalist show and one of the reasons why NFTs (and cryptocurrency in general) are controversial is due to their negative impact on the environment.

YMMV.The Muppets:

Trivia.The Muppets

  • Creator's Apathy: Disney CEO Bob Iger reportedly holds this mindset towards the Muppets. While he has nothing against the characters, he has no real passion for or interest in the Muppets, and considers them to be little more than a leftover from back when Michael Eisner was CEO and that he just so happened to inherit by being Disney's CEO, as opposed to a viable brand. This is reportedly the reason why Disney tends to sideline the Muppets compared to their other purchases such as Marvel and Star Wars, and the reason why most Muppet projects under Disney's ownership have been in Development Hell.

Mitch Fargo

Portrayed By: Ryan Janes Bittle
A boy who dates Cordelia during Marcie Ross’s rampage.
  • Informed Attribute: He is voted as the Best Dressed boy in the yearbook but displays little fashion sense during his screen-time.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: He is attacked and beaten up while changing in a locker room, without his shirt on.

@ Jeremiah

  • Fan Disservice: Most of the nudity in the show is of the Fanservice variety, but in "Man of Iron, Woman Under Glass", the only character to get a topless scene is a woman who has just been gang-raped.
  • Hero of Another Story: Thunder Mountain scout Shashona only appears briefly in "Man of Iron, Woman Under Glass", but mentions traveling across the country, teaching struggling communities how to hunt and farm.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Julie from "And the Ground, Sown with Salt" is compared to an angel due to her appearance and sense of unease about violence, and wears particularly fancy outfits. However, after turning on her Wasteland Warlord lover (initially out of self preservation and then out of a desire to atone for standing by in silence while he did horrible things), she helps the heroes escape from detention and engages in a shootout with their captors before personally detonating their base’s entire stash of missiles to keep anyone from using them.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: In "And the Ground, Sown with Salt", it is unclear if two prisoners who Kneel Before Zod and are enslaved (while others are executed) escape with the fleeing prisoners at the end, are away from the base on a scavenging mission (the primary put pride of the work crews), or are still at the base when it is blown up.
@ Jeremiah
  • Thunder Mountain scout Shashona only appears briefly in "Man of Iron, Woman Under Glass" but is well-remembered for having some hilarious quips and playing with the Magical Native American trope in interesting ways during his screen time.
  • Michael’s girlfriend Julie is considered to be another highlight of "And the Ground, Sown with Salt" due to having an expressive range of facial expressions and eventually getting some Neutral No Longer Silk Hiding Steel moments in the climax.
  • Chloe, the colorfully dressed woman selling worms and tarot fortunes in "City of Roses", makes the most of her one scene.
@ Jeremiah
  • Moe
    • Meghan has a soft gaze, good sense of humor, and tired, emotionally tested visage that keeps undergoing more and more pressure in a heartbreaking way that makes her deeply sympathetic.
    • John/Captain Iron from "Man of Iron, Woman Under Glass". Like his basic character or not, his eager-to-please, mentally-scarred Wide-Eyed Idealist characterization can be very affecting.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Michael from "And the Ground, Sown with Salt" is a ruthless piece of work from his first scene, but he is an enemy of the far worse Valhalla Sector, and his girlfriend says he was once a better person who may not understand what he is doing anymore. However, once Michael uses the arsenal of a military base to destroy a town of 200 people, revels in the destruction, and then plans to kill his girlfriend for getting pregnant without permission, his villainy is fully cemented.
@ Jeremiah
  • In the pilot, Theo has a delightful Oh, Crap! reaction after her technicians switch on a generator in the middle of town (thinking it will appease a rioting mob), right as, after being accused of hoarding, Theo is telling the townspeople that there is no generator.
  • In "Man of Iron, Woman Under Glass", Jeremiah and Kurdy crash their car while swerving to avoid aspiring superhero John/Captain Iron. He insists that he is invulnerable and would have been fine if they hit him, then explains that he was flagging them down to warn them that there are bandits down-road who run motorists off the road, injuring them. Jeremiah gets a great Sarcasm Mode moment when, while glancing at his own injuries, he thanks Captain Iron from saving them from that fate.
  • In "To Sail Beyond the Stars", Jeremiah answers several successive questions by saying "Maybe". When Kurdy asks if he is going to say anything besides that one word, Jeremiah replies "Maybe".

@ John Sandford

  • Bring My Brown Pants: In Stolen Prey, a man who got caught Robbing the Mob Bank deliberately poops his pants while being confronted by a team of torturers so they will let him clean himself off before torturing him. This makes them underestimate him and let him into the bathroom to clean up, and he quickly slams the door, blocks it, dives into a bullet resistant bathtub and starts yelling out the window for help.

@ Dad's Army

  • Adaptational Wimp: In the 2016 movie, he isn’t really a former combat solder and his military service in Sudan is limited to a stint in the catering corps.

  • Do Revenge: Even before the film was released, fans were shipping Drea and Eleanor, due to the trailers playing up the Les Yay between the two and Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke's chumminess while promoting it. This continued after the film's release, with Drea/Eleanor quickly becoming the Fan-Preferred Couple.

For Foe Yay Shipping:

  • Injustice: Despite the fact that these versions of Superman and Batman are enemies raging war on each other, it is still very popular in the fandom to ship them, mainly due to the fact that they used to have a very similar dynamic to their mainstream counterparts and fans love the potential angst about the dynamic.

For FanPreferredCouple.Video Games;

  • Injustice: While there is not a lot of shipping in the fandom easily the biggest ship is Superman and Batman, despite Superman's canon love interests being Lois and Wonder Woman and Batman's being Catwoman, as well as them being enemies in this continuity. Almost any shipping content for the games will be Superman/Batman focused.

Any corrections?
