Write down what you wish to edit on the wiki. If you have been suspended from editing, another troper might be kind enough to edit for you after your suggestions have been corrected.

The thread is for help and feedback on your own suggested edits.

If you want help correcting other people's edits (e.g., if you find a page which seems to have grammar problems but want a second opinion, or you don't feel able to fix it by yourself) then that's off-topic here, but we have a separate Grammar Police cleanup thread that can provide assistance.

The Russian Badger

  • Clickbait Gag: In the "Built Different, Built Stupid" episode, Badger plays Left 4 Dead 2 with modded characters and discusses the trope in the opening.
Badger: That's like the worst YouTube clickbait title you could ever imagine. "Arkham Knight saves Master Chief from Elmo in front of Shrek while carrying [the] gnome?"
Heavenly: "Not clickbait gone wild! Sponsored by Raid: Shadow Legends? By Ridge Wallet?"
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Invoked in "ARMORLOCKARMORLOCKARMORLOCK" while talking about playing Halo: Reach. Badger says it starts off by being able to say "Master Chief is on the cover of that Mountain Dew bottle." After a couple hours of games, it devolves into "Dey put da Mamster Chief in da soda."

I'm getting bored of reposting this. So, if someone would get around to giving this one feedback, that would be great.

For Wall-E.

  • Accidental Hero: A variation with the Buy N Large corporation. Their initial plan was to send humanity in a cruise away from Earth for 5 years. They would spend those 5 years cleaning up the planet. But since the Earth became too toxic, they were forced to abandon that idea and leave humanity in space for eternity. All things considered though, they definitely saved the human race, since they were evacuated before the Earth became inhospitable.

This is just a practice edit to see if I've improved with my grammar or not. Note: These sentences might not make sense next to each other, since I'm only focusing on grammar for each individual sentence.

Here goes:

1. Amy Tan, the author of The Joy Luck Club and the essay The Mother Tongue, is a Chinese American writer who writes novels, short stories, essays, and children's books, and gives speeches about the experiences of being a Chinese American.

2. Sasha went to the market and bought food. Sasha went to the market, and she bought food.

3. The grade on my test was low. My classmates' grades were low in the first semester. If the cat I adopted was green, I would call her Greenie. If the cat I adopted were green, I would call her Greenie.

4. Sasha and I want to watch movies. My mom got a gift for Sasha and me.

5. Who is calling me? To whom should I give the gift? Whoever comes with me will receive a prize. I will give a prize to whomever I choose.

I appreciate any feedback.

Edit:Included @Arvine's feedback.

For LauncherOfAThousandShips.Live Action TV:

  • The Secret Circle: Faye is shipped with almost every character on the show, particularly her other Circle members. The most popular ship in the fandom is Faye and Diana, but Faye has been with Cassie, Melissa, Adam, Jake, and Nick. This is because she is the fan favorite of the show and her actress, Phoebe Tonkin, having a chemistry with everyone.

For DieForOurShip.Live Action TV:

  • The Secret Circle: Adam gets hate on from two sets of shippers for having dated both Cassie and Diana. Adam gets hate on from Jake/Cassie shippers, who often make Adam into a horrible boyfriend, which continued even after Adam and Cassie broke up. The Faye/Diana turn Adam into a creepy and possive exboyfriend who hates the fact that Diana has moved on and even occasionally turn Adam into a homophob in regards to a potential relationship between Faye and Diana, even though there is zero evidence of this in canon.

For Fanart At First Sight:

  • Wednesday: As soon as fans saw the first teaser image of Enid Sinclair, they started to draw loads of fan art about her despite not knowing much about her character beyond her being the opposite of Wednesday. Most of it was shipping her with Wednesday, but there was a lot who just fell in love with her colorful style in a world know mostly for being black and grey.

I don't see any English errors in that sentence. However...

In order to be an Expy, a character must be "unambiguously and deliberately based on a character in another, older series." Just having a similar appearance doesn't qualify, so, as written, this is Not an Example of the Expy trope.

If he is an actual Expy of Colonel Silver, this is a Zero-Context Example.

Got a new page planned. This one is the description from Dust Devils from Jonathan Janz.

Dust Devils is a 2014 horror vampire novel by Jonathan Janz.

In the year 1885, Cody Wilson's wife had been murdered by a troupe of murderous actors after they tricked her into coming by offering her a role. Meanwhile the young boy Willet Black saw his friends massacred by this same troupe of actors. Now both Cody Wilson and Willet Black are seeking revenge on this fiendish group of actors in the New Mexico during the Wild Wild West.

Both Cody and Willet learn that much darker problems await them on their hunt as these actors are known other than vampires. This troupe of vampires is led by the the horrifying and ancient Adam Price who is wrecking havoc across the US. Now Cody and Willet must band together to defeat him and his horde or find themselves victims of his thirst.

Also an addition for my expansion to a folder in Scissors Seven

First a description for the character folder

Dai Bo is a blue Chicken who serves as an employeer and best friend of Seven.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: When King Phesant kidnaps Seven and Xia , Dai Bo begs him to let them go and even offers his life in exchange.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: A goofy blue Chicken who wears sunglasses and often gets slapstick but can hold his own really well against opponents and best them when he accesses his super mode.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Dai Bo is revealed to have had a horrible past. He grew up on a chicken farm as a chicken and lived in fear of dying and later saw his best friend murdered in front of him. He still carries the scars of what happened here way after.

  • Fantastic Racism: Intially Dai Bo possessed a hatred of humans because since he was a chicken they were on the lower end of the food chain and eaten by humans. He in fact convinced an amnesiac Seven to become an assassin so he could strike back at humans by killing them for money. He ultimately grew out of him and Seven become genuine friends and he let go of his hatred and bigotry.

For DieForOurShip.Live Action TV:

  • Wednesday: Before the show even aired, Wednesday/Enid shippers had a habit of hating Tyler and Xavier for the shere potential of them getting in the way of their ship. This hasn't stopped with the release of the show, despite Wednesday not ending up with anyone and Tyler being revealed as the monster. When the show aired and it was revealed that Enid and Ajax are interested in each other, many Wednesday/Enid shippers were also quick to wish he would be killed in Season 2.

For HoYay.Live Action TV:

  • Wednesday: The developing friendship between Wednesday and Enid come off to many fans as unintentionally romantic. In the pilot, the two quickly open up to each other despite not getting off on the right foot and Enid happily tries to hug Wednesday as soon as they meet. In one episode, Wednesday flat out threatens Enid's date if he hurts her. One of the few times Wednesday actually gets sad is when a fight causes Enid to move out, and when Enid moves it's because she thinks she has to take care of Wednesday and Thing. In the final episode, Enid even finally learns to transform to save Wednesday and the two finally hug when it is all over. Enid once points out to Wednesday that they shouldn't work as friends as well as they do in a way that sounds like a line from an Opposites Attract Rom Com:
Enid: Because we work. We shouldn't, but we do.

Thanks. Sorry about the length.

@ Number the Stars

  • Clothing-Concealed Injury: Prior to the beginning of the book, Peter was shot in the arm by the Nazis when they raided a Resistance meeting that he and Lise were attending. They both made it out of the building, but the police ran over Lise in a car. Peter had to wear a thick coat to hide his bandaged arm (and a hat to hide his distinctive red hair) when he attended Lise's funeral to keep any of the policemen in attendance from recognizing him as one of the escaped Resistance members.

@ Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers

  • Alas, Poor Scrappy: Samantha can be just as annoying as Tina, but the way she tries to fight back against Michael, unlike most of his victims, makes some fans feel bad for her once she dies.
  • Best Known for the Fanservice: Rachel meandering around her house in a Modesty Towel (with a few Leg Focus shots) gets a good bit of attention from the fanbase's heterosexual men and lesbian women.

@ Rat Race

  • Fan-Preferred Cut Content: Many fans wish the deleted scenes where the Lucille Ball fans meet their Distaff Counterparts and the high rollers play Monopoly had stayed in. Both have some good humor and would have helped the plot in minor ways. The first scene explains how Owen got away from the angry fans and whether those women make it to their convention, while the second scene makes it harder to guess that Vicki the call girl will be a Chekhov's Gunman.

@ Dirk Pitt Adventures

  • Ignored Expert:
    • In the Backstory, Dr. Kovacs published a paper warning the scientific community that trying to manipulate the electromagnetic field could destroy all life on Earth. The Nazis responded by kidnapping him and trying to force him to weaponize that technology and use it against their enemies.
    • Spider Barrett discovers Kovacs' work in the present day and brings it to the attention of Tristan Margrave, an anarchist who wants to destroy communications satellites and bankrupt the world's Corrupt Corporate Executives. After his versions of Kovacs' device causes tidal waves and abnormal animal behavior, Spider tells Margrave that the tests are unsafe, but Margrave arrogantly insists that he can fix the flaws in his device and refuses to halt his plans.

@ Supernatural S 06 E 12 Like A Virgin

  • Girly Girl: Opening kidnapping victim Penny Desertine is a shy woman who is still a virgin at the age of twenty-two, and not for religious reasons. Dean compares her to a kid, citing the pink and flower-embroidered decor, immaturely decorated diary, and teddy bears in her bedroom.

@ Republic Commando

  • Badass Bookworm: One of Dr. Uthan's fellow virologists goes for a knife when the squad come to capture Uthan. This earns her a blaster bolt to the torso.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: When Maze is asked why he saved General Zey's life, contrary to initial appearances that he did execute Order 66 he replies that Zey always made coffee for the two of them despite Maze's Almighty Janitor status.
  • Deer in the Headlights: Several of Dr. Uthan's assistants are shot by the clones after they freeze in panic rather than follow their bodyguard's orders to duck and cover.
  • Hero of Another Story: Order 66 has the main commandoes briefly run into several disguised Jedi apprentices who escaped the massacre at the Jedi Temple and are trying to get off-planet (with at least one of them escaping after they are discovered). However, most of the commandoes would object to calling those Jedi "heroes" part of the trope, since the Jedi accidentally kill some civilians while deflecting blaster bolts in a closed space and one of them accidentally cuts down Etain when she tries to save a clone who reminds her of Darman.

@ Roland Smith

  • Non Conformist Dyed Hair: In The Switch, Henry recalls how his friend Caroline was the first girl in their school to dye her hair pink (and get piercings), only to switch back to her normal appearance after all of the other girls in the school started imitating her.
  • World Half Full: The Switch is a dystopian novel which ends months after an unexplained but destructive EMP and lots of anarchy, looting, and starvation. However, the fortified valley the main character, his large extended family, and their neighbors live in remains secure. They also find Henry's missing father. Outside of the valley, more people are restoring cars (although the parts are hard to combine) and making electricity with wind turbines. The military is slowly restoring order, and the police and fire departments are reforming. And while Caroline is still dead, Henry still hears her talking to him in a mostly pleasant way in a Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane fashion from time to time.

@ The Dukes of Hazzard

  • One-Scene Wonder: Two very minor characters from the 2005 movie are decently remembered.
    • The burly jail prisoner who Boss pays to punch another prisoner who insulted his wardrobe, only for the burly prisoner to insult Boss's wardrobe himself once he collects his money.
    • Farmer's Daughter Laurie Pullman barely has a minute of screen time in the opening and closing scenes but makes a decent impression for two reasons. One is her Lingerie Scene as she makes out with Luke at the beginning of the film and tries to keep her shotgun-toting father and brother from pursuing Luke on her behalf. The second is how she ends up chasing Luke with a shotgun herself after he moves on to another girlfriend.

@ Earthquake

  • Beehive Hairdo: Rosa's hair is piled up several inches on the top of her head.
  • Honest Corporate Executive: Sam is a scrupulous construction firm owner who only promotes his son in-law because he's competent and not out of nepotism (or so he insists). During the disaster, he works hard to try to get his employees (from his office staff to window washers) to safety regardless of the risks to his life, with mixed success.
  • Hope Spot: Stewart swimming over to Remy and helping her toward the water feels like a big redemptive moment that will save their marriage, but then the flood intensifies and washes both of them away before they can reach the ladder.
  • Ignored Expert: Seismologist Walter Russell predicts the earthquake with perfect accuracy, but because he's only a graduate student and his superiors are squeamish about false alarms, they take a while to act on his advice. They ultimately do act on Russell's concerns after his predictions about the earlier, smaller quakes prove accurate and the death of the seismology institute's director makes the assistant directors grasp the tragedy of what is happening.
  • Noodle Incident: The bitter Jurisdiction Friction between the city cops and Beverly Hills patrolmen isn't helped by how one of the Beverly Hills officers apparently shot off one of Lew's toes during a dubious "accidental" discharge the last time they met.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Dr. Stockle at the seismology institute is a patient man who hears out Russell's claims of a major earthquake. While he refuses to publicize the earthquake warnings, he has good reasons for this (there is no evacuation plan in place so they don't know where to send anyone, and a panic could get people hurt) and he does convince the mayor to mobilize National Guardsmen and other resources and responders to be ready to help earthquake victims.
  • Token Minority: Stunt rider Miles is the only black cast member with any significant screen time or characterization, and even he is mostly absent for the second half of the film.
  • Vapor Wear: Rosa's nipples are clearly outlined against her t-shirt for a few seconds.

@ Spared by the Cut

  • Earthquake: In the script, Stewart survives the flood at the end and Officer Slade dies, but their fates were switched for the actual film after Stewart's performer asked to be killed off due to feeling the original ending made his character too unsympathetic.
@ Buffyverse: Watchers and Slayers
  • Drowning My Sorrows: According to the possibly non-canon novel The Book of Fours, Zabuto has been drinking steadily (although not to the point of intoxication) since Kendra died and (in one of her last missions) the two of them failed to save the woman Zabuto loved from having her spirit stolen by an evil sorcerer. His feelings of guilt about raising Kendra to be a weapon further encourage his drinking.
  • Retcon: The Book of Fours claims that Zabuto is childless and his only relative is a gay cousin who will probably never pass down the family name unless he adopts, but several other Zabutos appear in the Slayer duology (which is written by a different author). Which, if either, version is accurate in the main canon is unclear.

@ Wednesday Wednesday's Child is Full of Woe

  • Another student tells Enid about all the bad things he's heard about her new roommate and advises Enid to watch her back. Wednesday steps into view from behind Enid's back, gives him a Death Glare, and says that actually the opposite is true.
  • Wednesday gets annoyed by Enid playing music and dancing and threatens her to turn it off. Enid uses her werewolf powers to make her (colorfully painted) nails grow longer and sharper, warning Wednesday that "this kitty's got claws." Then Mrs. Thornhill interrupts them and is taken aback by how the color contrast between Wednesday and Enid's halves of the room, with the window in the middle of the room even being half stained-glass and half undecorated and dirty.
  • Wednesday says that after Enid has smothered her with school spirit, she hopes to do the same. While Enid is sleeping.
  • Thing flips Tyler off for asking if he is a pet.
  • In a Bait-and-Switch Comment, Wednesday recaps her First Day from Hell (hearing a prophecy that she will destroy Nevermore, learning Gomez is an accused murderer, and witnessing a murder) and then says that as much as she hates admitting it, her mother may have been right to say that Wednesday will like it at Nevermore.

For the Series Q-Force, I would like to bring up a trope for the Character Deb.

  • Does Not Like Men: Downplayed. Deb gets along well with the gay men on her team, but she once said straight men have fewer skill and evil in their hearts.

For Q-Force I would also like to add the following trope for the character Steve Maryweather aka Agent Mary.

Pokémon: Generation I - Venonat to Cloyster
(Slowpoke family)

  • Cannot Tell a Joke: The description for Chilly Reception implies that Slowking is so bad at telling jokes, it can cause the environment to get chilly enough to start snowing.
  • Secret Art:
    • In Generation XI, both regular Slowking and Galarian Slowking get Chilly Reception, which creates a snowstorm before switching the user out.
Pokémon: Generation II - Qwilfish to Celebi
(Stantler family)
  • Future Loser: Scarlet and Violet explains why Wyrdeer hasn't appeared in the present-day games; the lack of harsh environments and the decrease in fierce enough predators has made Stantler much softer than it once was in Hisui, thus stripping its ability to evolve into Wyrdeer.
Pokémon: Generation IX Families
(Tinkaton family)
  • Our Dwarves Are All the Same: The entire family has many dwarven archetypes, wrapped up in a pretty pink package. They're all Fairy-types with stout figures, who spend their time in scraps of metal to construct the perfect hammer.
(Paradox Duo)
  • Red Baron: Koraidon is called "Winged King" in an old expedition journal, while Miraidon is named "Iron Serpent" in an old book.
(Paradox Pokemon)
  • Conditional Powers: The abilities Protosynthesis and Quark Drive boost the Pokemon's highest stat under harsh sunlight or if Electric Terrain is active, respectively. Both abilities can also be activated if the Pokémon is holding an Energy Booster.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
  • Beef Gate: The game offers you the chance of challenging the different challenges in any order you want, but the lack of Level Scaling means that there is a very intended order to the three plots. For example, you skip all of the other Gyms and challenge Glaseado Gym early, but Grusha will challenge you with a team reaching level 50.
  • Bragging Rights Reward: The final Pokedex milestone reward you can get by fully completing it is a single Beast Ball. With no Ultra Beasts appearing in Paldea, there is no practical way to use it even if you wanted to catch an already caught Pokemon.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
  • Game-Breaker:
    • Bringing a Perrserker to an online 6-Star Tera Raid Battle is highly recommended due to how powerful a pack of them is. Steely Spirit's effect of boosting the user and ally's Steel-type moves by 50% stacks with itself, meaning that four Perrserker together can get a massive 200% boost to Steel-types moves. With the right moveset, you can melt through the Raid Pokémon HP in no time.
