Perhaps don't put so many things to be edited in such a large post next time.
- Sam initially views Slasher as nothing more than a...Then he sees Jimmy laugh off some damage Slasher caused to the merchandise in Jimmy's store and nuzzles the cat's cheek... "Caused damage" is in past tense because it happened before Jimmy laughs it off in the present
- has few real friends and is keeping secrets about his past. He is also in love with a woman (whose name is Zelda, like the author's wife) whom a local rich man views possessively. Run-on sentence
- Sam, the narrator's cousin, ...
- A few years before no comma The Great Catsby, J.J. Symington inherited a fortune from his uncle On One Condition (that he live a respectable life as a charity fundraiser), but he had different dreams and decided to pursue them. He hired another man to impersonate him and handle the charity fundraising. Again, be wary of run-on sentences. Don't stick too many clauses together or it will sound rambly.
- The former circus cats, the Flying Fangs, only appear in the second half of the first book,
- ben if he isn't that likable of a person. Did you mean to write "even if"?
- Sinister fence Cheater (Is this the character's name?) and his pet Scratch are still at large at the end of the first book and Sam has reasons to bear a grudge against them, but they never show up as sequel antagonists.
- The Flying Fangs form circus cats What does this mean?

- The Dark Action Girl who is shown pulling a knife out of her side after the surviving monsters from the attack on Hutch's house get into their car. She then bickers''' some with Pavel... Not sure I'm understanding events here. The monsters are in the car, and then they're bickering?
- cashing their car. Did you mean "crashing their car"?
- Hutch's father-in-law acts friendly to him but there is a sense that they can't quite connect. Meanwhile, Hutch's (Clarity about pronouns as there are three men in this example) brother-in-law gives him a gun for protection but does so in a swaggering, Condescending Compassion way.

For Transformers: Generation One - Decepticons - 1984 to 1985
Soundwave’s folder
- Evil Virtues: For all of his villainy, he is extremely loyal to Megatron. He once tended to his leader after the latter received a thorough beating from Optimus Prime in the 1986 movie, carrying him away from the battle as all of his comrades retreated.
@Family Guy S10 E22 "Family Guy Viewer Mail #2" Segment called Fatman & Robin. Unmarked spoilers alert.
- Bittersweet Ending: Heavy emphasis on bitter but Peter Griffin manages to drove Robin Williams clones away by sending them away to the other places to make other people laugh. But most of Peter's family members (except for Stewie, who pretends to be a Robin Williams clone to blend in) has turned into Robin Williams clones so he keep five Williams clones as a replica of his family and Peter have to cut off his hands offscreen to prevent himself from creating more Robin Williams clones. The segment ends with a now handless Peter seemingly loses his sanity while he have breakfast with his fake family and Stewie sitting on a rooftop, still disguising as Robin Williams.
- Sanity Slippage: By the end of the segment, Peter is shown looking disheveled with a brittle smile as he seems to loses their sanity while they're living with five Robin Williams clones posing as his family.
Robin Williams's clone (dressed up as Brain): Peter, can you pass the coffee?
Peter Griffin : Sure, Brian the dog. (grabs the coffee maker with two recently cut off hands) Anything for my family... - Madness Makeover: In the beginning, Peter's appearance is clean and well kept. But by the end of the segment, Peter's hair and clothes have become unkept and disheveled as he is seemingly losing his mind.
I'll take it that if no one corrects it after the time someone does a mass-correction, that means it's a pass.
Streak: 2
I'll happily revert the score if I'm proven wrong. Anyway, for my final draft (at least for appealing for suspension lift, I can revisit here anytime)... We're back to Live A Live and we'll get to The Challengers -> Great Aja. Here we go:
- Death or Glory Attack: The Frankensteiner will deal a significant amount of damage if it hits, but will damage its user if it misses. If Great Aja misses the attack, it will take a big chunk of his HP, making him easier to defeat. The damage after missing will still be retained if Masaru uses it, but this doesn’t become a problem in the Dominion of Hate chapter due to Masaru’s impressive HP growth.
Is this correct? Any errors?

some tropes for Kyros
- The Atoner: Kyros always feels guilty for the murders he commited in the past, not helped by the people who hated him when he was a gladiator, but Riku helped him become a better person and told him to help others to make amends for his mistakes.
- Face of a Thug: Kyros's face is rough and lacks eyebrows, making him look like an evil person. While he's a good person, he was a criminal as a teenager.
- Failure Knight: Thunder Soldier is extremely adamant in his desire to protect Rebecca because, when he was still human, despite being Dressrosa's strongest fighter, he failed to protect his king, who was dethroned, and his wife, who was killed.
- Flawed Prototype: Played with. Thunder Soldier is the first toy Sugar ever created, and one of the few not compelled by a Geas to obey the Family, though only because Sugar didn't start giving orders to the newly transformed toys at the time.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Albeith a former criminal and gladiator, Kyros main weapon is a classic sword that shows how more heroic he is.
- I Owe You My Life: Kyros is very devoted to King Riku because he gave him the chance of a better life and amend of his crimes while everyone else hated him.
- Insecure Love Interest: When Scarlett fell in love with him, Kyros refused her advances because he believed that, due to his past as a murderer, he wasn't good enough for her.
- It's Personal with the Dragon: While he hates Doflamingo as much as everyone else, Kyros holds a particular grudge for Diamante, one of Doflamingo's top officers who killed his wife. During the climax of the Dressrosa Arc, Kyros confronts Diamante, while also protecting his daughter, and defeats him.
- Life-or-Limb Decision: Downplayed. When Doflamingo was about to kill King Riku, Kyros cut off his chained leg to save his king. Unfortunately, he got turned into a toy shortly after.
- No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Thunder Soldier saved Rebecca from kidnappers when she was a child, but because he stepped into a human's house in the process, something forbidden for a toy, he was branded as a criminal and couldn't see Rebecca anymore except sometimes in secret.
- Rescue Romance: Scarlett initially hated Kyros, but grew to love him after he saved her from pirates who had kidnapped her and began acting much nicer to him. After a while, they got married in secret to live a quiet life together.
- Secret Relationship: Scarlett faked her death and married Kyros in secret due to the scandal that would be created by them being together, since she's a princess while he's a former criminal. Subverted because it's revealed that the citizens figured it out quickly, but pretended otherwise out of respect for the couple and their reasons.
- Skyward Scream: Having become a toy that can't feel the touch or cry and, when Scarlett died in his arms without remembering him, all that Kyros could do was scream at the sky.
- These Hands Have Killed: The main source of Kyros's angst is the murder he commited as a teenager, even if it was to avenge his friends, that made him hated by everyone. Kyros never forgives himself for his actions and believes himself to be so impure that he doesn't even want to touch and spoil his daughter with his dirty hands.
for Raizo (tropes in the past tense because these events are set in a past, and revealed through Word of God):
- Abhorrent Admirer: Raizo is very ugly and every woman he likes rejects him or, at worst, runs away from him. However, an SBS reveals that Fukumi, Fukurokuju's sister, fell in love with him after he saved her.
- My God, What Have I Done?: When he was young, Raizo rescued Fukurokuju's sister, Fukumi, and she fell in love with him. However, he was very shy and inexperienced and, when she tried to kiss him, he accidentally pushed and hurt her. Out of shame, Raizo left the Flower Capital to live in the forest.
- Not Good with Rejection: Exaggerated. When Raizo was part of the Oniwabanshu, he was rejected by a young kunoichi and took it so badly he left to live in a forest in the Kuri region, where he kidnapped any woman who passed by. After meeting Oden, Raizo found a new purpose in life and followed him. An SBS reveals he actually ran away after accidentally pushing and hurting Fukumi, Fukurokuju's sister, when she tried to kiss him.
- Rescue Romance: Tragically averted. Fukumi fell in love with Raizo after he rescued her on a mission. However, when she tried to kiss him, Raizo was so embarrassed and inexperienced with girls that he accidentally pushed her and then ran away out of shame.
for Fukurokuju
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: While he is a cold-hearted ninja who serves the tyrannical Orochi until the very end, an SBS revealed that Fukurokuju deeply loved his sister and resents Raizo for having (seemingly) killed her.
- The Rival: According to the prisoners of Udon's Prison Mine, Fukurokuju has personal enmity with Raizo, who was a former member of Oniwabanshu. When some of the Akazuya Nine run into Orochi and him during the Onigashmai war, Raizo stops to personally engage him. An SBS reveals that Fukurokuju holds a personal grudge against Raizo for having seemingly killed his sister, while she actually loved him.
- This Is Unforgivable!: On her deathbed, his sister, Fukumi, called Raizo's names multiple times out of love. Fukurokuju, however, believed it was out of anger and, believing Raizo was the cause of her death, vowed to never forgive him.

There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upFor My Ideal Academia.
- Orwellian Retcon: At first, the author wrote that Kodai's quirk allows her to shift her size like Mt. Lady. However, it's revealed later in canon that Kodai's quirk actually enables her to change the size of inanimate objects, not her body. Realizing the mistakes, the author rewrites Kodai's scenes to be in line with her canon's quirk.

- Accidental Misnaming: GTI can't get Raymonde and Sophie's names right.
- The Artifact: Even after Pub-pub quits his job in advertissments, he still appears in the opening of every advertissments.
- Butt-Monkey: When GTI participates on the advertissments, he keeps getting ridiculed by Pub-pub.
- Continuity Snarl: In season one, it's said that Gluon have ears (tought we don't see them), but in season two, it's said they don't have ears.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Lola's taste for peanuts is treated like a cigarette addiction. She once tells Groucha: "When you start, you can't stop.".
- Easy Amnesia: In episode 39 of season 2, Durallô the phone becomes amnesic after falling on the ground.
- Eccentric Millionaire: Pub-pub is a billionaire who works in advertissment just for fun.
- Fantastic Racism: GTI claims that he doesn't like Gluons.
- Injury Bookend: Durallô is healed from his amnesia by the same way he got it, by being dropped on the ground.
Le Génie des Alpages
- Butt-Monkey: Romuald tries to be a credible leader for the sheep herd, but is often turned into ridicule.
Thanks Synchronicity, although one or two of those edits feel inaccurate to me, like nuzzle to nuzzles in Face of a Thug since it makes it sound like Sam, not Jmmy, is nuzzling Slasher.
Thanks for ramming in how I need to pay more attention to commas and descriptors though.
I meant mobsters in the car, not monsters.
- Best Known for the Fanservice: One well known part of the show is its occasional use of nudity, particularly men's butts.
- Fanon Discontinuity: Season 4 has a lot for many fans of the first three seasons to dislike and want to disregard. The Skitter Rebellion and the stabilization of the new government under Porter and Peralta both amount to nothing, as those characters suffer abrupt Uncertain Doom fates at best. Weaver's surviving daughter is abruptly kidnapped, and despite hints of a Rescue Arc, merely ends up as a source of Collateral Angst. Tom and Anne's daughter Lexi becomes a base-breaking Wild Card. Lourdes (whose religious beliefs previously got a nuanced portrayal and who just got out of being a mind-controlled spy) ends up as a Straw Character worshipping Lexi.
@ Nobody Alternate Character Interpretation
- Do Pavel and his last two Mooks leave Hutch's family alone after capturing Hutch because Everyone Has Standards and they never meant to harm his family? Or were they just in too big of a hurry to escape with their prisoner and treat their wounds to spend more time searching for Becca and her kids?
- Challenge Seeker: His wife says the harder a problem is, the more he relishes solving it.
- Happily Married: Berenar and his wife seem comfortable together and she talks about how nice it is seeing him get happy about his work.
- Challenge Seeker: Deshelar enjoys launching heated political arguments about current issues and never minds his defeats.
- So Proud of You: Pashavar compliments Maia after the first time he circumvents the bureaucratic rules of granting court audiences, noting that while an emperor who won't obey laws is dangerous, one who won't break even the occasional procedural rule "is nearly as bad, for he will never be able to recognize when a law must be changed."
- All for Nothing: The villain from Murder Without Icing commits two murders to delay his creditors seizing assets that he needs for an upcoming business deal that he believes will keep him from going bankrupt. The business deal is a scam, so committing the murders wouldn't have done a thing to persevere his company and reputation, even if he hadn't been exposed as a killer.
- Springtime for Hitler: A passive version appears in Murder Without Icing. Unsuccessful entrepreneur Winthrop Holland tries to hide from his creditors by hanging around a losing hockey team that he owns a piece of, certain this will keep him below the radar. Then the team starts winning and he ends up being regularly mentioned in the sports pages of papers that some of his creditors read.
- Alternate Character Interpretation: Is the actor who offers to help Angie's career and claims she has a remarkable presence sincere, or just setting the stage for a Casting Couch ploy?

Is the grammer here okay?
General Shepard
- Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: Shepherd frames his actions as "necessary sacrifices" needed to mobilize a new generation of American patriots, but his callous execution of both Ghost and Roach and willing collaboration with Makarov, reveal him to be a ruthless warmonger without any care for the lives of his men beyond their use in achieving his goals, despite his Motive Rant.

Pokémon the Series: Black and White Fridge Brilliance
There are implications that the main reasons for Ash's subpar performance in the Unova region are that not only is the region almost filled with only new Pokemon. He also just got off a break from training that made him rusty, and finally, this regional campaign is also the first time Brock isn't there to help him point out where he is lacking, resulting in spending most of his time in Unova to break out of cold streak.
Edited by jahman on Aug 3rd 2022 at 9:03:50 AM
English aside (seems fine to me), that's misuse since it's just a theory and Ash "needing Brock" doesn't hold water since he literally forgot things like how to catch a pokemon very early in the season, and Ash has rarely ever been shown as a powerhouse anyway, so altogether it's just not an example.

Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallFor FanPreferredCouple.Live Action TV:
- Unreal: Easily the most popular ship in the fandom is Rachel/Quinn. Almost all of the fanfiction for the show is exclusively is for this pairing and it is easily more popular than any of Rachel's canon relationships (such as Jeremy or Tommy) or Quinn's affair with Chet. This is mainly due to a lot of fans feeling that the two have far better chemistry with each other than their male love interests and the fact that Rachel is Quinn's dragon, along with one of the few people Quinn actually cares about.
Any corrections?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadAdditions to the World War Z Character Sheet:
Barati Palshigar:
- Belief Makes You Stupid: She notes that while not every member of a culture or country is like this, every country has people who embody this trope.
- Creator Provincialism: Invoked In-Universe. She dismisses the civilian survival guide as clearly American and functionally useless anywhere else.
- Despair Event Horizon: Not Barati herself, but the members of Radio Free Earth's Information Reception. In order to collect the information to rebroadcast, RFE's Information Reception department scanned through all available channels looking for Government or NGO broadcasts. Unfortunately, the channels were also full of millions of civilians pleading for help as they succumb to disease, starvation, and the living dead. Less than five years after the war, every member of Information Reception was Driven to Suicide.
- Enraged by Idiocy: Barati is in turn enraged, saddened, and disgusted by the various counterproductive beliefs that helped create the Zombie Menace.
- Humans Are Bastards: Everyone at Radio Free Earth was forced to confront the worst aspects of their own cultural beliefs.
- Poor Communication Kills: She firmly believes this and her role at RFE was to Avert it.
- Shout-Out: Some of the rumors she mentions are lifted from the Living Dead Films.
- Uncanny Valley: Discussed and Deconscruted. Zombies are so completely and utterly alien that the survivors desperately tried to make them more human. Unfortunately, this led to moronic actions like trying to train Zombies as pets or awaken memories that no longer exist.
- Voice with an Internet Connection: Or at least a short wave radio. Her role was to broadcast essential survival information like culturing penicillin mold and creating potable water but also to dispel misinformation surrounding the Zombie plague.
Hyungchol Choi:
- Both Sides Have a Point: Hyungchol desperately wants an excepdition to the remains of North Korea, worried that there might be some ticking timebomb waiting to go off. His superiors refuse on the grounds that he might trigger a nuclear Dead Man's Switch or open a Room Full of Zombies. He admits both scenarios are not unlikely.
- Crapsack World: His description of a North Korean Underground City is not pretty.
- Democracy Is Flawed: Hyungchol readily admits that South Korea's democratic society nearly destroyed them during the Great Panic. However, he's nothing but critical of North Korea's repressive dictatorship.
- Older Is Better: He credits his parents and grandparents' generations with South Korea's survival, as they grew up with the knowledge that, one day, they may be forced to fight for their country.
- Politically Incorrect Hero: He refers to the Japanese refugees as 'those Japs'.
- Riddle for the Ages: His superiors are content to let North Korea disappear into history. He is not.
- Underestimating Badassery: He, like many of his generation, didn't consider North Korea to be a threat beyond the potential economic drain of reunification.
- The Unfought: North Korea was perfectly positioned to fight the Zombie Menance and possibly even take over their democratic sister nation. However, the entire country disappeared without a trace during the early days of the Great Panic.
Seryosha Garcia Alvarez
- Badass Boast: "Cuba won the Zombie War." Considering Cuba is now both the agricultural and financial center of the Western Hemisphere, it's hard to argue with him.
- Cosy Catastrophe: Cuba managed to weather the Zombie War with minimal societal disruption. The most dangerous thing they had to worry about was not the zombie plague but Cuban-American refugees.
- Democracy Is Flawed: He quotes Churchill on the matter: "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others."
- Patriotic Fervor: He's very proud of Cuba's new status as a superpower.
- Worthy Opponent: Seryosha can't help but admire Castro's political masterstroke of embracing Cuban Democracy and voting himself out of office.
- You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: On the other hand, he's still incredulous that Fidel Castro chose not only to embrace the new Cuban democratic movement but to take credit for it and become its founding father.
Adm. Xu Zhicai
- Just Following Orders: A rare positive example. He was naturally hesitant to fire a Nuclear Warhead at the Chinese Politburo, despite it being the only way to save China. His captain notices his hesitation and informs the crew that he was ordering them to fire.
Ernesto Olguin
- Both Sides Have a Point: On the one hand, going on the offensive was a difficult, dangerous prospect and the enemy was literally rotting away. On the other hand, not all of them were rotting away and only one was enough to reignite the pandemic.
- Expensive Glass of Crap: Fortunately, one of his friends managed to save a bottle of Chateau Latour, 1964. Unfortunately, being carted around the world ruined the expensive wine. They toast to the beginning of the American counterattack anyway.
- Lampshade Hanging: He sarcastically states that had the Honolulu Conference been a movie, the UN General Assembly would have responded to the US President's Rousing Speech with a Slow Clap.
- Mistaken for Racist: Not him, but the representatives of several northern note countries were accused of wanting to go on the offensive in order to reestablish the previous balance of power and keep southernnote countries from developing.
- Non-Indicative Name: He notes that 'The Honolulu Conference' was actually held on the USS Saratoga.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: He tried his best to represent his home country. He's deeply critical of the North American Superpowers, especially America but in the end, votes to follow the US President's plan because he believes it's what's best for Chile.
- Rousing Speech: He admits the US president gave a pretty good one. There was no Slow Clap but it was enough to get the majority of countries onboard.
- We ARE Struggling Together: Even in the face of human extinction, the UN is still mired in conflict, dissent, and political powerplays.
- You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: He's shocked that the US is even considering going on the offensive when the whole world is barely keeping itself head above water.
Michael Choi
- Animal Lover: He has a deep admiration for Whales and other marine mammals. He takes their extinction pretty badly.
- Blatant Lies: He doesn't have nightmares. No, really, he doesn't.
- Dissonant Serenity: He and many of the Exo divers didn't care if they were pinned by falling debris or dogpiled by hundreds of zombies. Considering they were encased in solid metal suits, they had good reason.
- Forever War: He admits that the oceans are still full of Zombies years after VE day and that it will be a long time before they're clear.
- Inter-Service Rivalry: He dismisses Army and Marine divers as 'pukes'.
- Insistent Terminology: Choi doesn't dive in submarines. He pilots submersibles.
- Nightmare Fuel: Between the low visibility, the lack of maneuverability, and limited weaponry, the fighting zombies underwater was horrifying.
- Shout-Out: Choi references Action in the North Atlantic when discussing his retirement.
- Take That!: Choi is just another in a long line of characters that take a swipe at The Zombie Survival Guide, stating that it doesn't even begin to cover underwater military operations.
- Big Good: Luffy has been slowly becoming this throughout his voyage as he rises to the top of the pirate world's hierarchy in power and influence, particularly in the New World. Eventually, his status as this would officially solidify when he defeats Kaido and becomes an Emperor of the Sea.
