Suggestion For Princess Trainer

  • Adaptation Name Change: Mehrunisa is called Lilly in this visual novel.
  • Literal Genie: The Genie did fulfill Jafar's wish by turning himself into a weak old man without his memories from being a genie, however he managed to have his memories return to him monthly and grinding his strength stat reveals he has an inhuman potential and he only looks like a mature adult but is not actually "old" or decrepit.

@ GoldenEye

  • He's Just Hiding: Given the limited amount of time that Xenia Onatopp spends being "squeezed" by her harness during the helicopter crash, some fans wonder if she's only unconscious.
@ Reacher

If One Shot is adapted, then it will borrow at least one element from the Tom Cruise film of the same book: giving names and backstories to all of the victims.
@ Blood Syndicate
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Aquamaria is one of the less prominent team members due to the Language Barrier and is one of the few characters to almost be killed off, but she's one of the most popular characters for the Hispanic representation she provides and her Blessed with Suck Elemental Powers.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Tech-9. The series might not have covered the groundbreaking areas it did if he remained leader, but his charisma and unique firearms-based powers make it disappointing that he's killed off after just five issues rather than remaining part of the team in a non-leadership capacity.
  • Watched It for the Representation: Like many Milestone titles, minority characters are the heroes, but this series has an entire team of well-developed characters from a wide range of ethnicities and backgrounds (African-American, Asian, Hispanic, homosexual, and transexual, sometimes with overlap), and attracts more of this sentiment than most of its other titles.
@ Star Wars Legends
  • Two surprisingly popular supporting characters from Star Wars: Crimson Empire are badass Token Heroic Orc Trandoshan rebel Sish Sadett (who doesn't get much development beyond a Defrosting the Ice Queen view of the Anti-Hero, being efficient, and being loyal to his leader), and the unnamed Royal Guardsman who learned of Jax's plan after being wounded and evaded heavily armed pursuers to go alert his brethren.
  • Don-Wan Kihotay (a skilled but pompous Expy of the original Windmill Crusader, Don Quixote) is considered an interesting, albeit wacky, minor character from Star Wars (Marvel 1977).
@ Friday the 13th (2009) He's Just Hiding
  • A scant few fans wonder if Bree's Rasputinian Death is really fatal, given the noticeable lack of gore for the series and how no one actually checks her pulse or anything.

@ Stranger Things: Hawkins National Laboratory

  • Sacrificial Lamb: Shepherd appears solely to show the dangers of exploring the Upside Down even when the searcher has official equipment.

    Agent Harmon
Played by: Ira Amyx
An agent serving under Owens in season 4.

    Elevator scientist
Played by: Andrew Benator
One of Brenner's assistants.
  • Bald of Evil: He isn't too evil, but he stands by while El is put in a sensory deprivation tank and the only hair on his head is on the sides of it.
  • Pursued Protagonist: The first scene of the series shows him desperately running through a hall and pounding on an elevator button. Unfortunately for him, his pursuer is inside the elevator. His protagonist characterization is sketchy though.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye:The first scene of the series is him fleeing through the lab from the Mind Flayer and losing the chase. Afterward, he only appears in a couple of flashbacks.
@ Power Rangers Zeo
  • The All Bikers Are Hells Angels-type gang leader stops messing with Ernie's new beach joint out of gratitude for Adam helping his girlfriend during a monster attack.
@ Power Rangers Zeo

    Penny
Played by: uncredited guest star
A teenaged martial artist who meets the Rangers in the episode "Trust in Me."
  • Blind Master: She's introduced beating three opponents in a martial arts battle, then picks up a white cane, revealing she's blind. Regretably, she doesn't help fight the Machine Empire, though.
  • Disability Superpower: She relies a lot on hearing and smell due to her blindness, which lets her see through Bulk and Skull's Nobody Here But Us Statutes disguise and recognize Rocky's voice while he's morphed and
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: She gets very upset when anyone offers her help out of what she perceives as sympathy for her condition.
  • Friend to All Children: She's at her warmest while interacting with a class of children.
  • One-Shot Character: She's never seen or mentioned before or after "Trust in Me."
@ Men of Sherwood
  • Clone Wars Adventures: The local settler militia in "The Order of The Outcasts" start out as antagonists but quickly form an Enemy Mine alliance with Joc Sah during Order 66 and prove just as capable of killing clone troopers as Joc does.
  • 3 Ninjas: Many minor reservation residents play minor roles in a couple of fight scenes (the pow-wow and the road ambush) and help the boys deal with Zerg Rush numbers of Mooks.
  • The Car: Zigzagged with the dozen or so local deputies. Several of them are killed without much trouble during one encounter with the eponymous villain, but the rest play a successful role in helping to trap and destroy the car in the climax.
  • The Empire Strikes Back: The Cloud City guards are silent and unnamed characters, are armed less well than the stormtroopers and rebels, and work for a (at that point) morally dubious character. However, they take several Imperials prisoner without much trouble and help the heroes escape.
  • Hook: The Lost Boys have much greater numbers and combat skills than in past versions and handily help win the final battle, although their new leader dies fighting Hook.
  • Vigilante: Nick and the other members of his vigilante group (only two of whom help him in many attacks on criminals) have less characterization and more moral ambiguity than the protagonist who ends up working with them, but all of them survive, although one is injured.
  • War of the Worlds (2005): The U.S. military only appears in a few scenes, but when they do, they're brave and effective without getting wiped out. This is most notable in the final scene, when several soldiers on foot bring down a tripod using missiles.
  • Stinger: Aside from a few prominent members, the delinquents who make up the Renegades and Rattlers are largely interchangeable besides a few prominent members and seem like they'll be Canon Fodder Asshole Victims. However, the Enemy Mine scenario that follows an enemy attack sees them working together against the eponymous antagonist and almost all of them live.
  • From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back: Theta Squadron from "Amara Kel's Rules for TIE Pilot Survival (Probably)" is a Punch-Clock Villain example. It has many rookie pilots (mostly conscripts) in a profession with a high casualty rate while chasing the protagonists, but all of them survive the chase through the asteroid belt.
  • ''TaleSpin
    • Rick Sky's old military squadron from "Bygones" only show up at the end of the episode, after being thawed out of an iceberg, and only have two or three lines of dialogue between them. However, when they fight the Air Pirates in their antique planes, they subject Don Karnage to a devastating defeat and only one squadron member is (non-fatally) shot down.
Baloo: There's five times as many of them as you.
Sky: I know it seems a tad unfair, but we'll let them have the first shot.
@ Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
  • It's Probably Nothing: As Jason stalks the group, Katie hears his movements and is concerned by them, while Stan and Larry are dismissive. Seconds later, Jason proves Katie's concerns correct.
  • Not So Above It All: Larry displays concern over how seriously Stan takes paintball but he is mad about being eliminated, whines that their teammate Burt has never been eliminated before, and complains that Katie shouldn't have been allowed to come.

@ Meg Langslow Mysteries

  • Punch-Clock Villain: A year before "Some Like it Hawk", a departing Corrupt Politician mortgaged all of the county buildings and then embezzled the mortgage money, causing a sleazy company to foreclose on the jail and other county buildings. The county clerk barricaded himself in the courthouse basement to delay the foreclosure and the company couldn't force him out without damaging their own infrastructure and causing a legal hassle, but by the time the book starts they are they keeping the (known) exits to the basement under tight guard and trying to make him leave through unscrupulous means while hiding the fact that their own legal claim to the property is based on sketchy documentation. However, several company employees aren’t malicious people and are only opposing the protagonists due to their jobs, get along with the townspeople (one guard is even dating a local girl with no ulterior motive), and, in some cases, quit by the end of the book. They include a falconer hired to kill the clerk’s carrier pigeons (he wasn’t told they were pets until later on), some but not all of the security guards who are watching the barricade (a few were even fired on suspicion of helping the clerk because they were playing cards with him through his barricade), the Honest Corporate Executive Victim of the Week, and a Private Investigator the company hired to find out how the clerk is still sneaking food in.

Last time I posted was here(https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=b9tcd2k65789p1pglrd92nvr&page=536#comment-13394), I am sorry for the long distance between posting again.

@Michael

In case you were still seeing these, I used to have an old account Kylotrope before a bunch of events caused me to lose my old gmail. I was allowed to have this account my the mods, still have had issues with getting my old one back.

I sort of lost interest in the Vietnam Mickey tropes from before, but I was interested in attempting this again with different tropes, I also got help from another troper before trying this out again.

For Emperor Belos.

  • General Ripper: He has an obsessive hatred of witches and all forms of demon species, having been a Witch Hunter in the human realm and plotting for centuries to wipe them out in the Isles, all in his zealous mission to 'save humanity from evil'. He reveals to Luz that he desires to be remembered as 'Witch Hunter General' when he returns home; the wording being somewhat vague about whether this was his rank before or he simply believes his efforts will earn him the title. In essence, he either was this or definitely aspires to be.

  • Hiding Behind Religion: The populace of the Boiling Isles refer to the Titan as their equivalent to God, with many parallels to religion and Christianity. Belos uses his supposed ability to 'speak' to the Titan to elevate his importance, seemingly shares 'facts' about the Titan and claims to be enforcing the Titan's will. "Hollow Mind" confirms that he does not believe a word of it, and is merely a skilled charlatan who is manipulating the populace for his true ambitions.

  • Mirror Character: There are 2 minor villains, Jacob Hopkins and Elder Bill who serve as essentially more incompetent versions of both of Belo's persona's, symbolizing the pathetic 'truth' of Belos hidden behind his threatening demeanor.

    • Jacob Hopkins is a reflection of his life as Philip Wittebane, as a superstitious Bitch in Sheep's Clothing who believes they are the hero protecting humanity against the evil Demon kind, fighting a crusade against a great threat to humanity that simply does not exist, and ignoring any evidence their beliefs on demons and witches are wrong. And while both genuinely believe in their delusions, they are also secretly motivated by a desire for the glory and recognition they believe they will earn. Jacob’s last name Hopkins is also a reference to Mathew Hopkins, who Philip is based on.

    • Elder Bill is a reflection of his life as Emperor Belos. Both are rulers of their respective continents who are working with the Collector, both have a zealous hatred of a magical species (titans for Bill, witches for Belos), both are Malevolent Masked Men and both are secretly conmen who manipulate their followers and convince them that their cause is righteous somehow (Belos is a False Prophet for the Titan, who says that wild magic is a corrupting force that the Titan put him on a crusade to destroy; Bill created a Religion of Evil based around the Collector and tells the titan trappers that the titans were a species of evil conquerors). and both plan to backstab their followers whilst promising them glory and paradise.

  • Only Mostly Dead: He is destroyed by the Collector in the season 2 finale (King's Tide) when he is smashed against the wall, leaving him as a puddle staining the castle. However some of his remains drips on Hunter; and in the credits we see that remnant of him close the door of the cabin in the human realm, making it clear he is still going to haunt the heroes somehow in the final season.

  • Taking You with Me: On the day of unity, Luz is able to brand Philip with a sigil after tricking him into a handshake, thus making him vulnerable to the draining spell. She does this hoping to make him stop the spell out of self-preservation, but he is incapable of stopping the spell even if he wanted to; he instead takes his cursed form and attempts to kill Luz and later her friends before the spell gets him.

  • Windmill Crusader: Belos desires to wipe out all life in the Boiling Isles, spending centuries extending his life to slowly rise to power and set up his apocalyptic 'day of unity'; he claims his reason for all this is to 'save humanity from evil'. The problem is that the demons and witches of the Isles never posed any threat to humanity, nor were they even unified under one government till Belos built his empire, meaning this supposed great threat to the human realm he was fighting against was basically in his own head. This is tragically natural for someone in the witch trials, where many people like Belos did horrible things for the sake of fighting a threat that was never real; Belos, at the very least, is going after genuinely magic beings.

For YMMV.Once Upon A Time:

Designated Hero tree:

  • Robin Hood is often referred to In-Universe as a bastion of nobility and virtues in the hero community. However, a lot of fans like to point that we rarely if ever actually see him do anything heroic. The main point a lot of fans like to point towards is him sleeping with Regina not five feet from his dying wife's frozen body. A lot of fans also find it hard to root for him and Regina to get back together, when he is so easy to forgive Regina for exucuting his wife and leaving his child motherless with barely any hesitation. Further more a lot of fans like to point out the hypocrisy of him saying that Zelena is unfit to raise their daughter, after he not only fails to name said daughter for weeks on end but straight up abandons her to travel to hell in order to save a man who tried to kill him and his family. He then proceeds to yell at Regina for attempting to give Zelena the benefit of the doubt by trusting the still unnamed daughter to her, despite him being one of the main people who preaches that Regina should be given a second chance after all the bad she has done, with the show framing him as in the right and having Regina apologize to him.

For the Unintentionally Unsympathetic tree:

  • When Marian comes back from the dead, the show tries to frame Robin Hood as a tragic figure torn between his love for Regina and his duty to Marian , but a lot fans find that he loses almost all sympathy he could have when he decides to sleep with Regina not that far from his wife's frozen body, which the show frames as sexy and romantic. The show tries to rectify this by having it revealed that Zelena murdered and replaced Marian long before that, but this does little in the minds of fans given he didn't know that and still willing chose to cheat on who he thought was his wife. There's also those who point out that for all his claiming that Zelena is unfit to be a parent, he proves to be just as bad of a father as he refuses to name said daughter for weeks and even abandons her not long after her birth to go to the Underworld to save a man that tried to kill him and his family.

  • Hook and Emma kissing after Hook saves her father is supposed to be sexy and romantic, but a lot of fans find it bit hard to swallow. The sticking point is Hook seemingly pressing Emma for the kiss due to saving her dad. Basically asking for a reward for dueing the right thing, even if that was not the intention. While it's meant to be a flirty little back and forth between the two, some of Hook's dialogue, such as "That's all your father's life is worth to you", reads as manipulative accidentally, Add to this Emma originally turning down kissing him, and you have the reason a lot of fans see it as creepy instead of romantic.

Any corrections?

Prison Life Is Easy For A Villainess

Originally titled Konyakuhaki Kara Hajimeru Akuyaku Reijou no Kangoku Slow Life, the story is a comedic Japanese Light Novel and Manga showing what would happen if the Otomoe's Villainess was as black-hearted as she was made out to be.

The manga contains:

  • The Ace: Rachel is good at everything she does: Her Queen Consort lessons, social etiquette, languages, politics, weaponry and manipulation.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Early in the story, Rachel writes a story about Prince Elliot molesting his personal knight Sykes. Prince Elliot meets his implied end when Sykes' fiancée Martina finds out about them.
  • Cute But Psycho: Most of the girls in the story but Martina takes the cake.
  • Deconstruction: The story deconstructs the standard Otome Villainess is taken to jail storyline for comedic effect by showing what would happen if the Villainess really was as blackhearted and manipulative as portrayed.
  • Freudian Excuse: Lady Margaret spent the first ten years of her life in poverty and is well aware that if her mother hadn't married a baron, she would have been sold off to a pedophile.
  • Girl with Psycho Weapon: Lady Rachel has a crossbow and gleefully recounts how she once killed three people with it. In Self-Defence of course.
  • Gold Digger: Lady Margaret Poisson, the 'heroine', is the stepdaughter of a baron who wants to snag the highest-ranking man she can.
    • She mentions that her mother was a dirt poor commoner before she married into nobility.
  • Heroic Comedic Sociopath: Rachel doesn't comprehend basic morality, to the point she had to be taught why she couldn't drown a boy that was bullying her. But the 'heroes' are so vile and self-absorbed that watching her tear their lives to pieces is hilarious.
  • Humiliation Conga: Rachel dishes out humiliation after humiliation to Prince Elliot and his subordinates. Strangely enough, she doesn't seem to be vindictive about it, merely happy that she gets to 'play the game' on her own terms.
  • It's All About Me: Lady Margaret, Prince Elliot, and most of the other 'hero' characters refuse to consider the consequences of cheating on their fiancees and abusing their authority.
  • Luxury Prison Suite: Double Subverted. Prince Elliot puts Rachel in a plain cell with no accommodations. Rachel took the liberty to stock up on all the supplies she'd need to live in comfort.
  • Mask of Sanity: Rachel's parents were able to teach her that life was a 'game' that had certain 'rules' she had to follow. It worked so well that Prince Elliot believed she was a total pushover and would meekly go to her prison cell.
  • Might as Well Not Be in Prison at All: Rachel treats her prison stay like a vacation. She prestocks her cell with every luxury you can imagine, including bedding, books, rare liquor, and weapons. She also subverts enough of the palace guards that she can leave any time she wants.
  • Mugging the Monster: Prince Elliot and the other Love Interests believed they could lock Rachel up without any repercussions. They were very wrong.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: Martina tries to kill Margaret for seducing her fiancé, Sykes. Averted with Rachel herself who holds doesn't even seem to realize who Margaret is.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: In-Universe. Rachel uses her free time to write a series of novels about an idiotic prince stupidly blundering around and molesting his personal knight.
  • Oh, Crap!: The 'Love Interests' tend to experience this once Rachel shows them the full consequences of their actions. Most prominently, when Sykes remembers about his loving fiancée Martina.
  • Porn Stash: Rachel's brother, George, has a particularly embarrassing one that Rachel threatens to reveal.
  • Refuge in Audacity: Rachel hosts a house-warming party in her prison cell.
  • Royal Brat: Prince Elliot ignores his royal duties and imprisoned his fiancee on trumped-up charges. He only gets away with it because his parents are on vacation.
  • Showy Invincible Hero: Rachel is so goodnote  that it's funny.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: When Prince Elliot finds out Rachel has transformed her prison cell into a luxury suite, he orders the guards to move her. Unfortunately for him, Rachel thought ahead and brought her own locks and a crossbow to ensure she stays just where she wants to be.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome:
    • The 'Capture Targets' are all either Royalty or high nobility and have fiancées from powerful families. None of the fiancées are happy to learn their future husbands are blatantly cheating on them.
    • Prince Elliot massively oversteps his authority when he throws a duke's daughter in jail on trumped-up charges. The only reason her family doesn't raise holy hell is that they know Rachel will do worse to him.
    • The Royal Family ultimately decides they'd rather have Rachel as Queen than their son Elloit as King.
  • Thicker Than Water: Nope. One of the Love Interests is Rachel's brother, who's completely fine with his sister being hauled off to jail. However, it's revealed he genuinely believed that Rachel was guilty.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Lady Margaret and Prince Elliot are both horribly dumb, but Sykes takes the cake. Cheating on your uber knight Yandere fiancée is just asking for trouble. Prince Elliot also forgot about that time he bullied Rachel and she pushed him into a pond and threw rocks at him until he nearly drowned.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Played for Laughs. When Rachel was a child, she pushed a bully into a pond and threw rocks at him to make him drown.
  • World's Strongest Man: Sykes' fiancée, Martina. She's allowed to get away with her violent rages because literally no one can stop her.
  • Yandere: Martina is deeply in love with her fiance, Sykes, and threatens a Murder-Suicide when she finds out he's been stepping out on her. It's mentioned she's gone on rampages like this in the past, which makes Sykes' blatant infidelity particularly dumb.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Once the king and queen find out what a mess Prince Elliot made, they disinherit him.

deadbert is sad because he sucks and is dead and sucks at being dead.
  • Last-Second Word Swap: "5" has this happen outside of Eulmore while Baby is jealous of the Jongleur's "bread."
McCree Cassidy is also jealous (respectfully).
  • The Thing That Would Not Leave: In "5," Baby treats Ardbert's ghost like this since he's bound to her.
idiot stupid dummy ugly moron annoying fool ghost won't get out of my sight.
