@ Ben Safford Mysteries

@ The Books of Ember
  • Lina comments about "back when" people still used telephones when she's trying to figure out what happened to her dad in the film, indicating that they were on their last legs when that message was made (given the age of Lina's sister, the message can't be any older than three years) and soon broke down.
  • One possibility of the career selecting method is that, given the smaller number of people available to start new jobs, the city needed someone to do the less desirable ones, so they started making it mandatory that someone had to do certain jobs and made it random to avoid appearing guilty of favoritism.
    • It's implied in The Prophet of Yonwood that society and central authority are already beginning to break down, at least in certain areas.

@ The Books of Ember

  • Fat Bastard: Mayor Cole is an enormously obese Mayor Pain who cares more about his own comfort and survival than doing anything to help his subjects prepare to survive the worsening blackouts.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Chet is named Joss in the film.
  • Gender Flip: In the graphic novel, a female student receives Chet's electrician's helper job.
  • Gender Flip: In the graphic novel, a male student receives Vindie's greenhouse job.
  • Gender Flip: In the graphic novel, a male student receives Orly's building repair job.
  • The Reliable One: Lina describes Orly as a strong girl who likes hard work.
@ We're No Angels
  • Multiple Gunshot Death: The warden, the sheriff, and several deputies empty their guns into Bobby's chest during the climax.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: In contrast to the warden, the sheriff is a competent but compassionate lawman. He takes the hunt for the escaped convicts seriously, but he's reluctant to harass the townspeople during the search and allows a wounded Bobby to see a priest.
@ Aladdin and the King of Thieves
  • Squick: During the "Welcome to the Forty Thieves" number, one thief sings "Never have to brush your teeth" as a closeup shows his decaying teeth, several of which break apart when he tries to smile. This is also the In-Universe reaction, as the camera immediately cuts to a flinching Aladdin.
@ Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • Anya and the Buffybot's first meting: the Buffybot's conversation starter is something that anyone else would find suspicious, but that Anya finds touching.
Buffybot: Anya. How is your money?
Anya (beaming): Fine. Thank you for asking.
@ ''Dirk Pitt Adventures
  • Shoot the Builder: The Big Bad plans to blow up the engineers who built his missile launcher (and the crew of the ship housing the launcher) as soon as he's used it to deliver a bioweapon to the U.S. He fails, and the engineers are captured and questioned. Interestingly, there's no indication that he plans to lethally silence the biologists who create the bioweapon.
@ Elemental Blessings
  • Hero of Another Story: Ghyaneth's cousin is never seen, but he mentions that she and her husband have been working to counter his plans to kill her to avoid a Succession Crisis. Ghyaneth claims that she's not exactly a hero and is just as ruthless as he is, but the truth of this claim is debatable.

@ Zoom: Academy for Superheroes

  • The Baby of the Bunch: Six-year-old Cindy is the only one of the heroes who isn't a teenager or a tween. She doesn't' always get the seriousness of what is going on and shows some sadness and confusion about why her parents sent her to the academy.
  • Pom-Pom Girl: Initially subverted, then zigzagged. Three of the four cheerleaders at Cool Loser and future superhero Summer's school pick on her with no provocation in her introductory scene. However, in the final scene, Summer has joined the cheerleading squad herself, cheers enthusiastically, and uses her powers to help make a more impressive pyramid.
@ The Scholomance
  • Aadhya's aunt married a Kolkata enclaver, giving her some minor family ties to them.
  • Mumbai once offered El's paternal family admission to their enclave but they refused because Mumbai isn't strict-mana. In The Last Graduate, El mentions that she does her best to avoid being noticed by the Mumbai enclavers because they know something is dangerous about her if the pacifistic Sharmas wouldn't take her in.
  • The Kyoto enclave was strong when the Scholomance was built and has gotten stronger since then, but was relegated to building the gymnasium by the Manchester enclave. They made the gym into an indoor garden, but it has since fallen into disrepair.

  • #444 just smashes the Fourth Wall to pieces with this strip. Bondforged Euden wants to get along with Nedrick and Beren, though Mym doesn't want it to take away from his time together with her, wishing there was more of him. He brings out his Regular, Gala, and Summer versions and asks her which one she likes the best. She responds by going into her Primal Brunhilda form and bringing up his Halloween and New Year's forms, and she doesn't care if they're not playable.

  • The episodes "Whittaker Our Way Out" and "Clearance from a Deal" both involve Greater Scope Villains who've been dead for around a century and never suffered for their nasty deeds. The team goes after their descendants (who are just as crooked as their ancestors in the former episode and insufferably Holier Than Thou in the latter one) in the present day, but it isn't quite the same.

  • Alas, Poor Villain: Stan sure is a con man, a Jerkass who killed his dad and a cheater. But it's hard not to feel bad for him when he desperately agree to take a "temporarily" job as a geek in a carnival , knowing the fact that he will be treated like an animal while he's drugged with opioid and kept in a cage until he is no longer in use or rather dying just like other geeks. Even more heartbreaking when Stan mixed into laughter and sobbing when he agreed to take a job.

Crisis on Infinite Earths (2019) They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot

  • Many fans were hoping to see Lena meet her Smallville counterpart Tess Mercer (who dies in the series finale but comes Back from the Dead in the sequel comics) and compare notes about their lives and relationships with their respective brothers and superhero acquaintances. These hopes came to naught, as Tess doesn't appear in the crossover.
@ Tim Dorsey
  • Friendly Sniper: In Orange Crush, Sergeant Rock Tex Jackson is A Father to His Men and is willing to fight numerically superior enemies to keep civilians from being massacred. The sniper part isn't overly emphasized, but in one scene he climbs a tree with his rifle and the narration notes that he's relying on his experience as a deer hunter. His platoon mates hear three shots, and are still trying to figure out if Tex shot their pursuers or got shot by them when he appears behind them and says to start moving.
@ Bret King Mysteries
  • Accidental Truth: In The Mystery of the Comanche Caves, Bret and his friends try to track down a fat henchman of the Big Bad. They claim that he's Benny's cousin Juan Gordo ("gordo" is Spanish for fat) to make their inquiries more inconspicuous. When they finally catch the guy, it turns out that his nickname really is Gordo.
@ The Cape
  • No Yay: Fleming flirting with Tracey/Dace can feel more uncomfortable than the show runners intended, considering how she's younger than his daughter and he killed Tracey's father, and he keeps it up even after she makes her distaste for him clear.
@ No Ordinary Family
  • Everyone Has Standards: While Chiles resents and mocks Stephanie, he confines himself to insults and seems to draw the line at actively working against his colleague.
    • When Chiles finds Stephanie's research regarding super powers, he warns her (albeit smarmily) that a previous employee already pursued that angle and got fired, rather than trying to sabotage or discredit her.
    • He refuses King's orders to spy on Stephanie (which costs him his job) and also gives her a veiled warning about what King's up to while cleaning out his desk.
  • Non-Protagonist Resolver: In his first appearance, Cordero and not Jim is the one to ultimately stop a murderous vigilante by drawing him out with a sting operation and then regretfully shooting him when he elects to commit Suicide by Cop.
@ No Ordinary Family
  • I Remember Because...: George remembers the murder of the gun-wielding vigilante's son from "No Ordinary Vigilante" because it happened during his first week on the job.

@ The Twilight Zone S 3 E 72 The Grave

  • A-Team Firing: Eight townspeople ambush Pinto Sykes and each of them fires one shot at him. Only one of those shots is a hit.
  • Bounty Hunter: The people of Pinto Sykes's hometown hire Conny Miller to track down and kill the outlaw so that he'll stop treating the town "like it was his personal property." After four months, Miller still hasn't found Sykes (some people suggest that he's too afraid to look very hard) and his clients form a Vigilante Militia to defeat Sykes themselves.
  • The Ghost:
    • The Vigilante Militia that kills Pinto Sykes forms after the local circuit judge gives the townspeople a “The Reason You Suck” Speech for relying on a gunman, but the judge is only mentioned and is never seen.
    • Pinto's father is repeatedly mentioned, and Johnny Robb is sent to fetch him in one scene, but he's never physically seen.
  • Riddle for the Ages: Aside from the Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane nature of Miller's death, there's the question of whether he just had bad luck in his pursuit of Pinto Sykes or deliberately held back in the pursuit out of cowardice and/or to prolong the hunt and suck more money out of his clients. A dying Sykes claims that Miller knew he was in Albuquerque but didn't follow him there, while Miller claims that he did go to Albuquerque and Sykes had never been there. Miller could be lying to protect his reputation, but Sykes could also be lying as a Batman Gambit to make Miller visit his grave despite Sykes's Dying Curse.
  • Vigilante Militia: The townspeople of Pinto Sykes's hometown initially send a Bounty Hunter after him, but ultimately decide to face him themselves. They spend a week making plans and when Sykes arrives, armed men are waiting to either kill or arrest him.

  • A lot of the Reverse Psychology in "Mr. Garrity and the Graves", where the eponymous Con Man is putting people in the right mood to pay him to not resurrect everyone in the town's graveyard.
Mr. Garrity: He'll be followed by all the others.
    Mr. Gooberman: All the others?
Mr. Garrity: Including your beloved wife. Your lonely hours are over. Your Zelda will soon be back with you to bring back your peace of mind.
Mr. Gooberman: No disrespect, uh... What I mean is that Zelda was the flower of all womanhood, but on six different occasions she broke my left arm, and this poor thing was in a cast so many times that I developed a list.
Mr. Garrity: Your point, Mr. Gooberman?
Mr. Gooberman: Oh, I would hate to disturb Zelda's rest, so how much would it cost to put her back?
Mr. Garrity: Oh, that's a difficult assignment, Mr. Gooberman. Uh... $500.
Mr. Jensen: For me it was $750!
Sheriff: I'm ashamed. I'm truly ashamed. Your own dear brother. And you, Gooberman, your dear wife. As a public official of this town, I apologize for these men. I am humiliated. Nothing less than humiliated!
Mr. Garrity: I don't blame you a bit, sheriff. And I could perceive immediately that you're made of sterner stuff. I didn't see you quake in your boots just because Lightning Peterson will be one of the departed returning this night.
    Sheriff: Lightning Peterson!
Mr. Garrity: You killed him yourself, didn't you, sheriff? He was the fastest gun in the territory. Balderdash. I say balderdash! "Lightning" Peterson. You killed him once, sheriff, in an honest showdown, and if his incarceration hasn't taught him anything, well, you can do it again. Something, sheriff?
Sheriff: You're going to resurrect that gunman?
Mr. Garrity: Well, it was a mass operation. As a matter of fact, sheriff, it will give you a marvelous opportunity to dispel those ugly rumors I heard that you actually shot Peterson in the back... Late at night... When he was alone and unarmed, and you had six deputies alongside of you.
    Sheriff (absently): Seven.
Mr. Garrity: Now I know that you faced up to him in broad daylight, but this will give you an opportunity to shoot him down, if need be, face-to-face.
Sheriff: Well, now, the fact is, Mr. Garrity, I don't think that Peterson should be resurrected. Actually... He's a menace to society.
Mr. Garrity: The fact is, sheriff... He's already on his way down.
Sheriff: I don't mind facing up to him but why go to all that trouble? Uh... Would, uh, you think $500 would keep him back up there?
Mr. Garrity: Lightning Peterson? You do him an injustice, sheriff. He was quite a lad with the gun, and mighty active at that. No, no, no, this will be a $1,200 job.
    Sheriff: Sold.

@ The Corellian Trilogy

  • 11th-Hour Ranger: Centerpoint administrator Jennica Sonsen and technician Antone show up fairly late in the third book, but work a lot alongside the main characters trying to disarm Centerpoint Station before it can be used for more mass mayhem.
  • Bald Head of Toughness: The bald Admiral Ossilege is a capable (albeit sometimes abrasive) military leader who reacts fairly calmly to near-certain death after he's wounded in battle.
  • Bus Crash: Sten Thanas died between The Truce at Bakura and this trilogy.
  • Hooked Up Afterwards: Gaerial and Captain Thanas met, fell in love, married and had a daughter some time after The Truce at Bakura (where they were both major characters but never interacted).
  • Military Maverick: Admiral Ossilege is fond of Refuge in Audacity strategies and uses dummy corporations to buy starships and convert them for military use to build up his system's defense fleet without alerting the New Republic. That being said, it's implied that his direct superiors may know about what he's doing.

@ Step Up

  • Believing Their Own Lies: In 3, Julian was kicked out of the House of Pirates for throwing a competition over a bet, but when he insists to his sister that they kicked him out because Luke was jealous of him, he seems to genuinely believe it.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: In 3, Moose and Camille engage in a dance number while strolling through several sidewalks and doorways and snatching various props. Several people get annoyed by this, telling them to get out of their space or put their stuff down.

@ ''Crossed Pregnant Badass

  • Kate is pregnant (or has only just given birth) for all of her page time in Family Values and is one of the coolest heads and best shots of the survivors in that arc, all the way up until the last few days of her pregnancy.

    • Q-Bert sometime tells the player character "Oh hey, [player name], I didn't recognize you. You're my favorite customer", which is a dialogue taken from The Room when Johnny buys flowers.

Hotel Mario: YMMV

  • Never Live It Down: Luigi mentions that he wants to eat spaghettis only once in the whole game, but that's enough for youtube poopers to depict him with a spaghetti addiction.

Like this @Arivne ?

//Dan Gillick

Voiced by: Steve Carell

Debut: "Penny-Wiseguys"

A former Mafia accountant who is friends with Homer.

  • A Day in the Limelight: His episode "Penny-Wiseguys" features him being the protagonist (and also antagonist), while the rest of the Simpson family (except Lisa) have a minor role.
  • Adorkable: Dan is a nerdy guy, who likes the idea of using a gun and sees the Mafia as an ultimate bussiness model. It helps he's a nice guy.
    • When he becomes an ear-piercing clerk, he shouts "Bada-Boom!"while piercing the ears of his customers, and before that he gave a long speech, trying to act serious about using his gun.
  • Accidental Hero: He and Homer accidentally shoot a bullet at Snake, during their fight at the climax.
  • Actor Allusion: Dan used to be a businessman, before being a mobster... What does that remind you of?
  • Affably Evil: Dan is a nice guy, despite being a mobster. Although Dan isn't a bad guy himself.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Dan is bullied by the other mobsters (except Fat Tony) because they don't see him as a tough guy. They start to respect him after he starts acting tough.
  • Anti-Villain: Dan is a nice guy who doesn't like the idea of killing guys, but he's a member of the Mafia and is expected to follow their orders.
  • Ax-Crazy: Downplayed. He attempts to shoot Homer after he says "Perfect Storm" and is willing to kill Fat Tony's men who are under his orders, but he's normally a nice guy. He also loves the idea of using a gun, since it makes him feel strong.
    • And when Moe told him to behave like a tough guy, he acted like complete psycho in order to scare the mobsters, while holding a knife, mind you.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Dan hates overused expressions, such as "Perfect Storm". He goes ballistic when he hears one.
    • Never call Dan "weak".
  • Beware of the Nice Ones: Dan doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but when he gets angry he gets quite dangerous. He also didn't hestitate in getting back at the mobsters for treating him like dirt at the beginning of the episode.
  • Blood Knight: Downplayed. He loves the idea of using a gun, but doesn't actually want to kill anyone.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Moe suggests that he behave like a tough guy to make the guys fear and respect him. It works.
  • Drunk on the Dark Side: Dan temporary becomes the antagonist during the episode's climax, willing to murder Fat Tony's men. He's aware of it, and that's why he begs Homer to stop him from killing the mobsters.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: He's fired from the Mafia by Fat Tony, but he's able to continue living his life as a ear-piercing clerk in the mall, which he likes because the machine he uses to pierce ears resembles a gun and he likes the idea of using a gun.
  • The Everyman: Dan has a normal life, struggles to fit in his role as a Mafia accountant and later is promoted to temporary don. His struggle is similar to a guy who wants to fit in his new job.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: Averted. Dan was willing to murder the mobsters (because of budget problems within the Mafia), but he couldn't carry it out
  • If You Kill Him, You Will Be Just Like Him!: Deconstructed when Homer says that if Dan kills the mobsters, he'll be as evil as they are. Dan doubts that, since they kill a lot of people daily and lie to their wives about working, when in reality they're just hanging out.
  • Ink-Suit Actor
  • Kick The Son Of A Bitch: He almost stabs Legs' hand when he acts like a lunatic around the first act of the episode.
  • Knife Nut: He threatened the mobsters with a knife when he behaved like a lunatic during the first act. He nearly stabs Legs' hand.
  • Large Ham: He's voiced by Steve Carell, so it's expected that he screams a lot.
  • Man Hug: He gives Homer a hug when he goes to tell him about his real job and that he wants Homer to stop him from killing the mobsters.
  • Manly Tears: He cried when he was forced to fire somebody in his old job, he even kept the tear.
  • Nice Guy: Dan is a nice guy, which becomes jarring when you learn he's a mobster.
  • Pet the Dog: Dan took care of Bart when Homer threw him into Dan's backyard after a frisbee.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Rather than shoot Homer, he merely makes him crouch, because he knows that he's so fat he will take a lot of time just standing up.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: He's the accountant of Fat Tony's Mafia and becomes a temporary don, but he's a nice guy himself who does what he's told to survive this deadly enviroment. After he's fired and can have a normal life again, the villain part completely disappears.
  • Remember the New Guy?:
    • Dan is introduced as a new member for the Pin-Pals. This trope is Justified, because Homer has just met him recently.
    • Prior to this episode, Fat Tony never mentioned he had an accountant before. This trope is justified again when Dan later mentions he used to be a businessman prior his entrance to the mafia.
  • Sixth Ranger:
    • To the "Pin-Pals", since Otto suffered a psychotic break-down at the time.
    • He's also a new aquisition to the Mafia as well.
  • This Is Going to Suck: When the grasshoppers cover him and start entering the orifices of his face, he starts to scream.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: When Homer ties him, Dan is actually enjoying it to the point Homer begs him to shut up. Then Dan apologizes and says that he's into a lot of weird stuff.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Averted and Lampshaded. When Homer saves him from the grasshoppers, he's thankful for it, then he threatens him with a gun. When Homer objects, he reveals he only wanted him to crouch so he could get away easily, since Homer takes a lot of time standing up.
  • What You Are in the Dark:
    • Dan had many chances to kill Homer, but he couldn't go through with any of them. He ultimately gives Homer his gun, when Homer begs him to not kill the mobsters in the final scene.
    • Dan reveals he cried when he was forced to fire somebody in his previous job and still keeps the tear to this day.

Sorry... I forgot the speech when Dan pierces the ear of one of his customers happens before he shouts "Bada-Boom!"

Context: First we have Dan giving a speech trying to sound serious about using a gun, then one of his customers gets impatient and demands Dan to hurry, Dan replies he can and then pierces the ear of said customer while shouting "Bada-Boom!"

Thanks. I'm sorry for making you read all of the quotes from Mr. Garrity and The Graves and wouldn't have posted so much text if I'd realized you'd have to. I should have just scrappd the idea when I saw there were other mistakes.

@ The Proposal

  • Margaret's “The Reason You Suck” Speech to Bob after his angry and slightly misogynistic rant about being fired when she offered him an opportunity to leave gracefully and with two months to find another job. She calmly points out that he's a "lazy, entitled, incompetent" employee who "spend[s] more time cheating on your wife than you do in your office." She finishes by saying that if he doesn't quietly leave now, Andrew will film him being marched out of the building by security and post the video on the internet.
  • Agent Gunderson making it clear that he sees through the Citizenship Marriage ploy and reminding Margaret and Andrew of the criminal penalties for the charade if they continue and he catches them.
@ The Proposal
  • When Margaret fires Bob in the opening scene for not doing his job, she tells him she understands if he's intimidated by their writer Frank, but it's no excuse, and then offers to wait two months before firing him so he can look for another job and say he quit to avoid a negative blot on his resume. After they leave Bob's office, he starts getting angry and it becomes clear that he'll publicly confront her and force her to immediately fire him, Margaret mutters a silent plea of "Don't to it Bob, don't do it." Once he does blow up at her, she doesn't cut him any slack, but the whole scene is an early sign that as abrasive as Margaret is, she doesn't go out of her way to hurt people.
  • Any time Grace lectures her husband for trying to push his dreams on Andrew.

@ Dark Forces Saga

  • Karma Houdini: Brazack abets a brutal False Flag Operation and then unconcernedly departs the story.
  • Karma Houdini: Like his subordinates Brazack and Vester, Noda suffers no known comeuppance for his role in the war crime-heavy subjugation of Sulon.

@ No Ordinary Family

  • Hell-Bent for Leather: Cho wears multiple leather jackets and kills an armed murderer during the climax of the pilot.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Cho is the only cop who appreciates Jim's contributions to their cases. She also picks up on the pattern of how he's been involving himself in cases after he gets powers. Her reaction to seeing him use his powers isn't an entirely understanding one, but she still says that she won't arrest him for his vigilantism if he stops taking the law into his own hands. She also seems contemplative when Jim says that she may need him if more super-powered villains show up and he'll be waiting for her to change her mind.
  • I Owe You My Life: Cordero begins acting much warmer toward Jim after finding out that Jim saved his life and didn't publicize the fact or bask in how heroic it was.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Cordero can be a cold and judgmental man, but not an entirely unreasonable and uncompassionate one even before his Character Development.
    • In his first appearance, he expresses annoyance that Jim is showing so much concern over the attempted murder of a career criminal and Asshole Victim when the police have limited resources and there are many other open cases with more sympathetic victims. However once the shooter strikes again and kills someone, Cordero takes the case more seriously and also tells George that he thinks the suspect he's pointed them to is guilty (he is) and worth further investigation even though there's no immediate evidence.
    • In another episode, he refuses to let a witness to a home invasion remain anonymous despite the boy's fear of the robbers (pointing out that the crooks will walk in court if he keeps the boy out of it), but he does post a police guard on the boy and his family.
@ No Ordinary Family
  • Blackmail Backfire:
    • In "No Ordinary Vigilante", Daphne uses her mind-reading powers to find out a store clerk is stealing from the cash register. She tries to blackmail him into providing beer for a Wild Teen Party. The clerk quickly points out that she has no hard evidence against him and calls the police on her for underage drinking.
    • In "No Ordinary Sidekick", Chiles finds proof that Dr. King has been making a super serum and threatens to tell the government. He's probably planning to blackmail King for money or his job back, but before he can get around to that, King smugly says that Chiles inadvertently contributed to the super serum project and will also be incriminated if he goes to the authorities. Chiles leaves in defeat, and is later killed by King's enforcer to ensure his silence.

@ Tomorrow Never Dies

  • For Want Of A Nail: If there hadn't been a jeep parked in front of a nuclear bomb, then MI 6 and the Navy would never have prematurely launched a missile at the black market bazaar, forcing Bond to act early and allowing Gupta to escape with the encoder that kicks off the rest of the plot.
    • In a related incident, if the missile's self-destruct mechanism had worked, then they could have blown it up as soon as Bond told them about the bomb and still kept Gupta from escaping.
@ Tomorrow Never Dies

@ The Twilight Zone (1959)

  • "Will the Real Martian Stand Up":
    • Ethel gets some good moments during the attempt to spot the Martian imposter. She points out that the two couples should be clear (as each spouse can vouch for the other). She threatens to belt Dirty Old Man Avery who makes a crack at her, and later she tells off Ross for bullying that same old man.
    • The bus driver repeatedly arguing it isn't safe to cross the bridge and asking the cops if they're sure about the reports that it really is safe.

@ Ciaphas Cain

  • It's Probably Nothing: A variant. Pismire insists on bringing up all of the alarming rumors about the dangerous goings-on during Cain's visit to his planet, but he also refers to a lot of them as "rumors" that he claims to be sure are unfounded. It's unclear whether he's trying to calm his people or really is too dense to know how many of those rumors are true, although the latter is implied.
@ Ciaphas Cain
  • Cain describes one normal sign of an impending revolt as "the governor being burned in effigy." Amberly's footnote adds "or sometimes in person."
  • Governor Pismire's speech (and his name, for that matter) contain nonstop hilarity. He goes off on a tangent about how his viewers are in different time zones. He's painfully honest about how ill-informed he is (his daughters had to tell him about the latest developments when they saw them on the news) and about how slow things are working. After demonstrating that he's painfully out of touch with current security events, he still claims "My staff are pretty good at keeping on top of the important stuff." Then it turns out that he thought he was giving a rehearsal speech and didn't realize it was being broadcast live.
