Pokémon: The Series — Ash and Pikachu

Ash Ketchum

  • Character Development:
    • From Unova on, Ash learns to be more self-sufficient as a trainer and person without either Brock or Misty to subtly guide him like in earlier seasons.

Maya and the Three

King Teca

  • Boisterous Bruiser: King Teca is a loud, Large Ham who enjoys battle and glory. During battle, he remains really loud and expressive.

Lord Mictlan

  • Faux Affably Evil: Mictlan can carry himself with a suprisonally polite tone of voice at times. It's all an act though and he's an Ax-Crazy sadist who'll even sacrifice his minions if it means he gets to win

  • God of the Dead: Mictlan rules the Underworld and is the God of Death. He is shown to be able to raise skeletal warriors for battle as a result.

  • War God: Mictlan is the God of War and is a psychotic Blood Knight who enjoys bloodshed and violence.

Hi fellas. It's me again. Let's have another try.

Some Headscratchers for Despair Island:

  • This fanfic is more realistic and the Amusing Injuries in the show are not Played for Laughs here. Then why the show's first challenge is still the same? It's even pointed here that such fall is like hitting the ground from that high. Shouldn't all the contestants have died right there then?
  • Izzy and Owen are the first members of their respective teams to be killed off because their funny gags in the show didn't suit this fic's nature. Then why is Lindsay not killed off early if her lack of intelligence is too comedic as well? That said, even if Owen's antics weren't suitable for this fic, he still farts, so Toilet Humor is still present in the story.
  • Harold's attempt to eliminate Courtney instead of Ezekiel fails because only he and Ezekiel voted for Courtney, as Geoff and Bridgette reluctantly declined Harold's proposal to vote for Courtney as well due to their desire for survival outweighing their morals. Why then Harold declined Sadie's proposal to eliminate Courtney when she asked him to do so? Yeah, Sadie was still screwed because it would have been then four votes for her and three for Courtney, but still seems like a lost opportunity for Harold...
  • After Harold's death, Chris announces that there are not going to be any executions that night because the ten votes were for Harold and he died. Why were all the votes for him? Geoff and Bridgette still regarded him as a friend after Duncan and Courtney turned on him for betraying the alliance, Justin and Trent were interested in integrating him into their alliance and Beth and him had been considering an alliance too while sneaking into the kitchen together.
  • In the author's notes for the eighteenth chapter, they mention that the What Could Have Been for the chapter involved Chris getting killed and the helicopter being blown up, apparently by Harold. Then how was exactly the fic going to proceed if Chris was not going to be any longer to host the show? And what would have been of Duncan's father?
  • In the "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue, it's mentioned that the only time Noah saw any of his surviving competitors again was in the wedding of Geoff and Bridgette but has no plans to see them again. Really? He doesn't want to see them again even after he and Bridgette became friends during their stay at Playa Des Losers? This comes off like as if Noah hated all the survivors.

@ Wasteland Elder

  • The World's End: In the Distant Epilogue, several years after all of Earth's technology is destroyed, a middle-aged Andy is seen sitting around a campfire and telling people about the past.
  • The Scarlet Plague by Jack London is set sixty years after The Plague devastates the world. Only a few hundred humans remain alive, including James Smith, who regales his hunter-gatherer grandchildren with stories about the old world's technology, food, and society. Their primary reaction is skepticism.
  • Snowpiercer: Old Ivan, an 84-year-old piano tuner, fills the role of the wise elder for the lowest rung of the post-apocalyptic Fantastic Caste System prior to his suicide halfway through the pilot.
@ Cult Defector @ The Red Green Show
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Every episode of the first season has Harold interrupting Red as he tries to recount the latest misadventures of the lodge members (canoe jousting, a supposed Elvis Presley sighting, etc.). Given how funny the episodes where Red does get to elaborate on his stories are, there's a real sense of missed opportunities there.
@ True Blood Fairies And Others
  • Big Damn Heroes: A flashback reveals that Claudine saved a young Sookie from being killed by the vampire that killed her parents decades ago.
  • Black Sheep: Claudine's siblings are all members of La Résistance against Mab, while Claudine serves her.
  • Guilt-Ridden Accomplice: Claudine lures half faeries to Queen Mab's domain, where they are held prisoner, but looks guilty as she watches Sookie fall victim to this.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: The other characters don't tell Hadley about the death of her grandmother.
  • Unrelated in the Adaptation: In the novels, Claude and his siblings are Sookie and Jason's second cousins, but there's nothing to suggest this is true in the show.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Hadley is a Posthumous Character in the books, but is a recurring character in seasons 2-5 of the show and apparently survives it.
  • Struggling Single Mother: Hadley's husband left her due to being freaked out by their son's telepathy, and she struggles to raise her sons while being caught up in Sophie-Ann's machinations and dealing with being a Recovered Addict.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Hadley disappears midway through season 5 (like her friend, Claudia Crane) after Sookie finds out the truth about the death of her parents. She isn't present when Russell menaces Hot Wings at the end of the season and is also presumed (although not confirmed) to have been absent when Warlow kills everyone he finds at the club in Season 6.
@ Shanghai Noon
  • Iconic Sequel Character: Action Girl extraordinaire Lin is neither seen nor mentioned in the first movie, but is pretty memorable in the second one. The same could also be said of swashbuckling Evil Brit Lord Rathbone from the sequel's Big Bad Duumvirate.
  • Mistaken Ethnicity: Jedediah, the Mormon settler who gives Chon Wang's fellow Chinese Imperial guardsmen a lift, assumes that they're Jewish, while his wife thinks they're Native Americans.
  • No Name Given: Chon Wang's Clueless Deputy from the beginning of the sequel is unnamed.
  • Prison Escape Artist: In Knights, Lin nearly escapes from jail by using her pills to make it look like she's asleep under her bedsheets, then drops down from the ceiling to attack whoever comes in. This only fails because her brother and Roy are the visitors and she stops to talk to them. Later, she successfully escapes (albeit offscreen) by picking the lock to her cell with a deck of playing cards and climbing down the wall using a mop, fork, and her undergarments.
  • Shoddy Knockoff Product: In the sequel, the street urchin who steals Roy's watch returns it, partially out of kindness (after seeing how much it meant to Roy), but mainly because a pawnbroker told him it was a worthless knockoff.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Van Cleef's deputies disappear after the scene where they first try to capture Roy.
@ Lake Placid vs. Anaconda
  • Uncertain Doom: During the attack on the cars, Cassie is seen being bitten and dragged away by an alligator, while Jennifer is seen bloody and gasping as the anaconda constricts the SUV she's inside of. Still, (unlike with most victims in either franchise), neither of them is seen actually dying onscreen, and their bodies aren't shown later.
@ The Spiderwick Chronicles
  • Familial Foe: Eighty years ago, the evil ogre Mulgarath menaced Arthur Spiderwick and his daughter Lucinda while trying to steal Arthur's research about the magical world. Decades later, he menaces the great-grandchildren of Arthur's brother.
  • Related Differently in the Adaptation: The Grace siblings are Arthur's great-great grandchildren in the book (through a sibling of Lucinda's), but the film implies they're descended from a sibling of Arthur and Lucinda is Arthur's only child.
@ Fan-Preferred Cut Content
  • Halloween (2007): Quite a few people prefer the alternate ending, as it makes Michael and Loomis more sympathetic and implies that Michael dies (which would avert the events of the base-breaking immediate sequel).
@ Spared by the Cut
  • Halloween (2007):
    • The seedy new guard who Ismael is showing the ropes to dies during Michael's escape in the extended cut, but is absent in the original version.
    • The alternate ending has Michael gunned down by a crowd of cops, seemingly ending his rampage. In the final cut, he survives being shot once by a struggling Laurie and returns to kill again in the sequel.
  • Halloween II (2009): Laurie is institutionalized after her Sanity Slippage in the theatrical version, while in the alternate cut, she is shot.
@ Before Midnight a new page.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot
    • Despite how much characterization is given to the various contestants and their goals and talents, it is never revealed which one of them wins the make-up contest after the original one is called off.
    • The investigation into Dahlmann's murder focuses solely on the people involved in the contest, despite there being numerous juicy potential motives outside of that event based on rumors about Dahlmann that Lon recounts (not paying a $90,000 poker debt, carrying naked photos of society women in his wallet, etc.). While Wolfe is being hired to keep the contest from being ruined and not to solve the murder, it would have been interesting if people from those stories about Dahlmann showed up during the investigation.

@ American Renegades new page.

For Wrestle Angels:

  • Relationship Values:
    • In There are three types of wrestler's relationship stats: Trust, Affinity, and Morality. There are several ways to raise or lower them, although they aren't always guaranteed. When you want to communicate with the wrestlers that you've scouted, there are four actions: Compliment, Scold, Encourage, and Reconcile.
      • When you choose "Compliment", the wrestler's affinity and morality are either increased (if it succeeds) or not changed (if it fails).
      • When you choose "Scold", the wrestler's affinity, trust and morality are either either increased (if it succeeds) or decreased (if it fails).
      • When you choose "Encourage", the wrestler's affinity and trust are either increased (if it succeeds) or not changed (if it fails).
      • In Survivor 2, there's "Reconcile" (which is equivalent to "listening to your problems" in Survivor). If a certain wrestler has a grudge, you may be able to resolve it by interceding with the cause of the grudge.
    • If the wrestler's affinity reaches certain points, both private and vacation events where The President is involved with her may occur.

You wrote "How do you describe the theme..." and ended with the webpage link, so you were saying that the webpage link was the answer.

The phrase "Grand Finale Final Boss Fight that determines the fate of all Niwen" doesn't describe the music at all, just what's on the screen. You can't assume that just because the scene is awesome that the music is going to be awesome too.
