Raven Beck

  • Accidental Truth: While posing as ADAM, Raven states the Samus' awaken Metroid powers are what she'll need in order to triumph over him. Though this was likely just another means to manipulate her and still rightfully believes that he is still outclassing Samus in combat, she ultimately proves his statement right by transforming into a true Metroid.

Hi, I'm back here but just for writing something today.

@ Banned in China / China

  • A few months after Animal Crossing: New Horizons was on this trope, in June of 2020, Super Mario Maker 2 was also suddenly taken down from Chinese e-commerce websites for unknown reasons. However, as was reported across Chinese language media, it was alleged that the ban was due to too much freedom and also have levels that's full of mockery and satires of Chinese government. However, this was unknown for non-Chinese peoples until YouTube channel named "Censored Gaming" have covered it.

@ Trivia / Super Mario Maker 2

  • Banned in China: In June of 2020, this game was suddenly taken down from Chinese e-commerce websites for unknown reasons. However, as was reported across Chinese language media, it was alleged that the ban was due to too much freedom and also have levels that's full of mockery and satires of Chinese president Xi Jinping. However, that being means that Chinese gamers can still own or play the game, but for other Chinese gamers who didn't have the game would out of luck now.

For Magpies as Portents Music:

  • The traditional South Korean folk music Magpie's Seollal associates the magpie with good luck and new year's celebrations. A possible origin of the song is the Korean legend that the magpie is one of the animals which rescued King Soji from the assassination planned by the queen and a Buddhist monk. Another one is that Korean ancestors have traditionally believed that magpies would bring good news. If a magpie sang in the morning, it was regarded as a sign that a welcome guest would come to visit. From a scientific perspective, though, magpies tend to chirp loudly when they sense unusual smells because they are afraid.

@ McHale's Navy

  • Adaptational Job Change: Christy is the quartermaster in the main series but the radioman in the original pilot.
  • A Father to His Men: McHale spends his free time hanging out with his crew and will do anything to protect them. This is even more pronounced in the Alternate Continuity pilot, where he is the commander of a naval base that was almost wiped out in an air raid. After refusing to engage with an enemy ship, McHale says that he isn't afraid of dying, but of surviving to stand over the grave of yet another one of his men after losing so many already.

@ Murdoch Mysteries

    Eddie Crawford
A bookie and fence who appears in several episodes as a suspect, witness, or potential victim.
  • Animal Motifs: Crawford is compared to a weasel for being small, thin, cowardly, and untrustworthy.
  • Saying Too Much: In his second appearance, when Brackenreid threatens to arrest Crawford, he misjudges the inspector's seriousness and says that he’s not going to pay the cops off twice. He quickly tries to cover that up, but this causes Bracienreid to realize he’s been bribing a Dirty Cop.
  • Throwing the Fight: In one episode, Crawford is targeted for murder because he convinced a poo man to spend the last of his money betting on a fixed boxing match but lied to him about which fighter was being bribed to throw the fight.

@ The Scholomance

  • Hero of Another Story: Plenty of students at the Boarding School of Horrors who barely interact with El have interesting backstories and struggles. Notable examples are Luisa being stuck there without preparation due to being a Mage Born of Muggles, Clarita using a Beneath Notice strategy while working to become valedictorian, and Maya Wulandiri putting all of her efforts into trying to gain admission of herself and her family to the Toronto enclave.

@ The Scholomance

  • Awesome by Analysis: Clarita shows her calculating nature by keeping track of just how many people Orion has saved at least once in the past three years (the number is around six hundred).
@ The Alleged Expert
  • The Naked Sun: Solaria's sole sociologist, Dr. Quemont, is self-taught and can't bring himself to be in the same room as another human being (although, to be fair, the same is true of most Solarians). And if that's not bad enough, he's never even studied basic and valuable sociology principles developed on other planets.

@ Bonanza S 01 E 14

  • Promotion to Parent: Amelia raised Sue Ellen after their father died, although she's quick to try and guilt her sister about it. It's implied that Sue Ellen's upbringing was full of Corrupt the Cutie attempts from Amelia.

@ Relic Hunter

  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: Sydney and Nigel get into more than one fight while dressed up for formal parties. The villain of "Nothing But the Truth" also gets into a martial arts fight with Sydney while wearing yellow high-heels, a halter top, and a short skirt, and is winning until Nigel helps out in a Combat Pragmatist fashion.
@ A League of Their Own
  • The Woobie:
    • Betty. Her first major scene has Jimmy tear up her husband's prized baseball card when she asks for an autograph, and her last major scene has her find out that her husband has been killed in action.
    • Evelyn is a Shrinking Violet who gets yelled at until she cries after making a mistake during a game. She also has a husband who is implied to be either a deadbeat or a Domestic Abuser and a son who constantly embarrasses her by being a Bratty Half-Pint.
@ Psych S 02 E 01 American Duos
  • Abhorrent Admirer: When Emilina, an Addled Addict several years his senior, hits on Lassiter, he is visibly disgusted.
  • Addled Addict: Emilina is a drug user who sees things that aren't there, has memory problems, and has bad withdrawal syndromes while being held for questioning.
  • Going Commando: When Nigel borrows Henry's robe and Henry demands it back, Shawn advises against this, saying Nigel is naked underneath.

About Emilia's Character page

  • Bleed 'Em and Weep: Emilia starts crying after she shoot her abusive father Julio to (presumed) death while Lily holds her on her side to comfort her.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Emilia ends up siding with Lily after she found out that Julio doesn't care about her and killed her mother and aunt near the end.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: She turns against her father Julio after she's been mistreated and neglected by him for years near the end of the series.
  • Last of His Kind: Emilia become the last Ardiente who is still alive by the end of the series.
  • One-Person Birthday Party: Downplayed. While Emilia spend her birthday alone in prison while being crippled in the end, Lily visit her to give her a cake and to show her that Lily now forgive her for Emilia's crime.
  • Tears of Remorse: Shed one in the last episode when she ask Lily why she forgives her after all that she did to her.

Julio's Character page

  • Asshole Victim: G Gets shot by his own daughter Emilia whom he been mistreated her for many years and later kept alive so that his ex-wife adopted daughter Venus can torture him for god knows how long. Given the fact that he's a corrupt politician who kills many people and being abusive to Emilia, he deserves it.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: He and Emilia torture Jepoy when they discovered that he (Jepoy)'s the mole and later Lily before they bury her alive. Julio later becomes the subject of one by Venus as she begins to blowtorch his mouth by the end.

Complete Monster

  • The City Beautiful: Mr. James Whitby is a rich, well-respected gambler in Chicago who's secretly a rabid antisemite. Whitby looks down on the Jewish population of the City and wishes to purge it of them which leads to him allying with the likeminded insane Serial Killer Grigori. Whitby helps Grigori in his murders of innocent Jewish boys while planning to take their evil even bigger. Whitby plans to burn down the Jewish Corner of Chicago in a purge and when confronted on how this could destroy the entire city and possibly kill thousands, only smugly sneers that as a gambler he doesn't care.

  • Mystic Knoll: Abigial Thornwood is a monstrous teenage sociopath who has tapped into the natural power of her area. Abigail plans to purge anyone who's even slightly offended her and their entire families and to this ends concocts a dark scheme. Magically seducing a man into giving her a child, Abigail warps her child into a monstrous and mindless Jersey Devil intending to use her to wipe out all of her perceived enemies. The painful transformations into the Devil haunt Abigail's daughter and cause her pain with Abigial herself body jacking her daughter to take her revenge personally when she's hindered.

An idea for Monster Sanctuary.

Magmamoth

  • Moth Menace: It is a giant moth that can blow hot air onto its enemies.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: It played a big role in the game’s backstory. When humans began pushing into its territory, the dying Magmamoth burned the forest and led to the first war between the Monster Keepers and the kings of the Old World. The Monster Keepers were able to hatch Magmamoth’s eggs with the Spectral Familiar’s help, allowing them to tame monsters.

28. Glowfly

A tiny firefly-like monster that shines in the darkness.

  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Forceful Sorcery grants an aura that allows attacks to ignore a portion of the enemy’s damage reduction when under the effect of Sorcery.
  • Blinded by the Light: Blinding Sunlight allows Fire and Wind moves a chance to inflict Blind.
  • Cute Monster: They were so cute that they weren’t labeled as “monsters” until the 187 AC.
  • Injured Vulnerability: Thunder Strike deals additional hits if the enemy is inflicted with Shock.
  • Lighting Bug: It is a firefly-like monster that can glow in the dark. Its explore ability is utilized as a torch to dark areas.
  • Power of the Sun: Its standard moves are Solar Rays and Solar Burst, and one of its ultimate moves is Solar Blaze. They are all classified as Fire element.
  • Shock and Awe: While it is classified as Wind, its primary attack is lightning-based. Its standard moves are Voltage and Thunder Strike.
  • Support Party Member:
    • While it has several offensive moves, it has two support moves, Enlighten and Rejuvenate, to boost its allies. Enlighten grants Sorcery and Barrier, while Rejuvenate grants Agility and Regeneration. One of its ultimate moves, Full Potential, grants a shield and many buffs, including Might, Sorcery, Regeneration, Sidekick, Agility, and Spellshield, to a single ally.
    • Insect Charge grants Charge to allied Insect monsters, allowing them to deal more potential damage.
    • Both of its shift passives benefit the party. Its Light-shift grants Buff Mastery, which allows an additional stack on any buff to the party, while its Dark-shift grants Mana Conflux, which grants a Charge to any allied monster that consumed 75 mana.

An Apple For The Teacher

  • Good Parents: Like in canon, Henri is a caring father to his daughter, Ameri. Bringing her her lunch that she forgot from home by himself instead of sending a servant to bring it to her. It's implied that his reasons of not telling Ameri about her absent mother is his way of trying protecting her from the painful possibility that his wife may have not wanted their daughter.
  • Missing Mom: Ameri lost her mother when she was just a baby. Her father never told her what happened, but he seems to be trying to protect her from the truth of her mother.

@ The King Nobody Wanted

  • Fat and Skinny: Marya Seaworth and Gwendolyn Chelsted become fast friends and Cersei thinks of them as a "dumpling" and a "beanpole," respectively.
@ Arachnophobia @ Clue Club
  • Pretty much every Villain of the Week's Evil Plan (standout schemes include making a train disappear and creating a fake airport to steal a plane). The show has an impressively large number of Magnificent Bastards for an animated Short-Runner series. Even the villains who don't count due to being too unpleasant or breaking down during the summations have plans that are just as intelligent as the various Magnificent Bastards.
@ Stargirl (2020)
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Isaac is recruited into the new ISA in season 2 by being told that the JSA killed his mother. Despite the interesting possibilities (the JSA know that they didn't kill his mother and might have been able to convince him of that), he never finds out that his mother was actually killed by the parents of one of his teammates.
@ Star Wars Legends
  • Lyric and Sannah from Junior Jedi Knights only appear in one obscure middle-grade novel (plus two short cameo appearances for Sannah in the New Jedi Order series). Still, they're decently well-liked due to the interesting nature of their species and how well they acquit themselves against the predators of a Death World before becoming Jedi.

@ Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost

  • Extremely Short Timespan: About eighty percent of the movie takes place over one night. The first few scenes take place the night before and during the intervening day, and the last scene takes place one night after the main action.
@ In the Presence of Mine Enemies
  • My God, What Have I Done?: A woman who accuses Heinrich of being a Jew (not realizing he is one) after he spurns her advances is horrified upon realizing that this has gotten his children arrested for being part-Jewish and could get them executed.
  • Sadist Teacher: Both Alicia's first teacher and her younger sister's teacher are nasty diehard Nazis who don't shy away from corporal punishment and psychological cruelty toward students who irritate them.
  • There is Another: Despite their concerns, Heinrich and his family and friends aren't the only surviving Jews in an Alternate Universe where the Nazis won.
    • Several Jews are found living in an isolated village in an occupied country (although they don't end up surviving for much longer after that).
    • Rather disturbingly, the Big Bad and his family have some Jewish blood, although it's pretty clear that they aren't practicing Jews.
    • One of the SS officers investigating the claims that Heinrich is a Jew implies that he is one too after evidence (falsely) clears Heinrich.
  • Puppet King: After Buckliger is deposed in a coup, it's pretty blatant that the new official chief of state is a nonentity who is acting as the mouthpiece for the SS.
@ TMNT
  • Fan-Preferred Cut Content: The deleted birthday party scene is viewed as being pretty warm and hilarious, and most fans can't figure out why it got cut.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The thirteen monsters. None of them have more than a couple of scenes, most of them are captured in a short montage, and several of them remain entirely off-screen when many fans wanted to see a complete assortment of classical mythological beasts.
@ TMNT Adding to an entry.

Despite Winters' dismissive assessment of the Foot Clan, they also capture at least two of the monsters (the arachnid and the vampire bat) with little to no help from the Stone Generals. @ Dick Francis

  • What You Are in the Dark: In Knockdown, the Big Bad is knocked unconscious in a fight with the narrator and lies helpless. The narrator has a perfect opportunity to kill the man who has tried to ruin his livelihood and just killed his brother, and can easily make it look like he inflicted the fatal blow in self-defense during the struggle. Instead, he restrains the villain, calls the police, and then cries as the Bittersweet Ending sets in for him.

For YMMV.Wrestle Angels:

  • Genius Bonus: Kanna Kamui is one of the wrestlers who were adopted by a Kamui Arts master who is heavily implied to be an Ainu person. Her surname is based on the Ainu language (Kamuy (or "Kamui" in Japanese) means "Spirit" or "God" in the Ainu language); Kanna can only be scouted in Hokkaido, where the Ainu people live in; her mask (especially the headband part) has a unique motif based on the Ainu culture.
