This thread is for tropers who have trouble with English and would like some help with the crazy grammar of this crazy language.

Write down what you wish to edit on the wiki. If you have been suspended from editing, another troper might be kind enough to edit for you after your suggestions have been corrected.

The thread is for help and feedback on your own suggested edits.

If you want help correcting other people's edits (e.g., if you find a page which seems to have grammar problems but want a second opinion, or you don't feel able to fix it by yourself) then that's off-topic here, but we have a separate Grammar Police cleanup thread that can provide assistance.

Bullman: "from the first to last episodes" should be "from the first episode to the last".

You can cut "during the show's run". That part's implied.

"Even when not directly involved with Tori’s plot she" should read "Even when not directly involved with Tori’s plot, Jade".

So like this?

  • Deuteragonist: Jade gets the most character development of anyone on the show after Tori, and is the character with the second most focus plot-wise. The two’s rivalry is a through line throughout the show from the first episode to the last, and their dynamic is the only one that really changes. Said rivalry also drives the plot of several episodes and gets more focus than their other relationships. Even when not directly involved with Tori’s plot, Jade often gets the B plot, usually through her relationship problems with Beck.

Here is an example for the Chronicles of the Wanderer Work page that I am writing off site for someone to look at if they have the time:

  • Walking the Earth: "The White-Bearded Ancestor" is a short story consisting of a series of vignettes that follow Grungni the Maker as he travels the Mortal Realms during the opening years of the Age of Chaos, gaining inspiration for the creation of Grombrindal the Wanderer along the way.

Stardust: Here are some changes I'd make.

"Not only does Marie regain all of her memories as Wicked, she also attacks her former allies. The Go-Home Club has to put her out of her misery."

"Marie is a kind and friendly student who has no memories of her past. Marie's real identity is Marie Mizuguchi (Wicked), a former member of the Ostinato Musicians. In the bad ending, Marie does regain all of her memories as Wicked from the first game if the protagonist decides to kill her."

"If the protagonist decides to kill Marie, she will turn against her allies and attack them after she regains all of her memories as Wicked."

"Bluffman's face iss never reveal before or after he was stabbed multiple times by MU-kun."

That particular example doesn't work. That trope is about a specific point where it looks like something will be revealed, but it isn't.

"Victor is Christina's best friend. He has no romantic feelings for her and sees her as a troll friend to help him pull pranks on other people for fun."

I'd change "a series of vignettes that follow" to "a series of vignettes. They follow..."

For Victorious - Tori Vega:

  • Just Friends: Despite the Ship Tease between the two, Tori ultimately has this dynamic with Beck. Tori makes this clear in "Tori Goes Platinum", where she refuses to kiss Beck because it would hurt Jade. In another episode "Opposite Date", a random group of strangers even mistakes them for a couple, which they are both quick to deny. Tori even helps Beck and Jade get back together in "Jade Dumps Beck", and is seen being very happy for them getting back together in another episode.

Any corrections?

Bullman:

"has this dynamic" is zero context. Spell out what it is, or skip this entire sentence and go to the meat of the matter.

"In another episode" should be followed by a comma."

"and is seen being very happy for them" is Word Cruft. Just say "is very happy for them". (Also, that should be about them.)

How is this?

  • Just Friends: Despite the Ship Tease between the two, Tori repeatedly refuses to be anything more than friends with Beck even after he and Jade break up. Tori makes this clear in "Tori Goes Platinum", where she refuses to kiss Beck because it would hurt Jade. In another episode, "Opposite Date", a random group of strangers even mistakes them for a couple, which they are both quick to deny. Tori even helps Beck and Jade get back together in "Jade Dumps Beck", and is very happy about them getting back together in another episode.

You're using "eventually" twice. Not good, unless there's some specific point.

I guess your right. now that I've thought about it, its probably more of a coincidence, then a deliberate shout-out, coincidence or not the similarity is interesting, I stand by that.

Anyway, do you think I could ask the tropers about helping with this? https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=b9tcd2k65789p1pglrd92nvr&page=441.4#comment-11023

It's kind of a special case.
