For Accidental VTuber Identity Reveal examples:

    open/close all folders
    Anime and Manga
  • Gender inverted in one of Merryweatherey's shorts. The VTuber who resembles an ugly bastard (the character archetype of obviously ugly and evil man for Hentai genre), turns out to be a ridiculously shy and adorkable girl, thanks to a technical problem.
  • This is the main premise of My Dad's the Queen of All VTubers?!, where the main protagonist accidentally finds out that the no.1 girly VTuber he adores so much turns out to be his father. Cringe Comedy ensues.
    Video Games
    Real Life
  • Virtual YouTuber Nora Cat has once "her" identity revealed due to a technical glitch, which resembles an ordinary man.
  • The well-known VTuber Tomari Mari has "her" identity accidentally revealed as a man who uses a speech tuner to disguise himself as a moe girl. Even some other VTubers also make fun of "her", but in a positive and comedic way.

For Spoof Aesop Web Original:
  • In one of Viva La Dirt League's shorts, the griefer mocks and threatens another opponent online that he will destroy and conquer the opponent's land. However, it turns out the opponent isn't an ordinary person, as he teleports the griefer and his friends into the game world. His friends are stuck fighting against the opponent's soldiers, while the griefer plays the game battle on his PC. The opponent's avatar attempts to kill the griefer. We might think that griefing is bad, until the ending reveals that the griefer is really a professional and defeats the opponent's avatar. Now he has left his PC, he and his friends are exploring the land in the game world.

Some addition for Age of Wonders.

Human

  • Combat Medic: Their Priests in 3 focus on healing allies with Bestowed Iron Heart, which also grants Strong Will and extra defense and resistance, and targeting enemies with ranged spirit damage. Upon reaching Elite rank, their attacks can inflict Daze, preventing the enemy from attacking.
  • Magikarp Power: Their Cavalry are rather generic compared to other Cavalry units, but they can Evolve into Knights, which are the Human's strongest units in their roster.

Naga Lair

  • Swallowed Whole: The Glutton's attacks may have a chance of swallowing an enemy whole and restoring the Glutton's health upon success. The chance is dependent on the enemy's health and size.

Warlord

  • Born in the Saddle: Their empire upgrade, Thoroughbred Mounts, increases their mounted unit's health, which complements their own mounted units, such as the Mounted Archers and Manticore Riders.
  • Fatal Forced March: One of their Strategic Spell is Death March, which allows an army to move again with equal amount of their movement, at a cost of half of their current health. While it will make a Warlord's army mobile, it also puts them at risk of ambush from enemy armies that catches them in a weakened state.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: The Warbreed are giant creatures born from an ogre and the race of your choosing. They retain traits of your race while possessing monstrous traits like Wall Crushing and Regrowth.

Some copied and pasted song lyric quotes I'd like to add to the top of some Scooby-Doo movie pages. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to bother with stuff like this on the thread but better safe than sorry. Also I'm unsure about the policy about whether or not tropes are supposed to post song lyrics like this as a movies page and whether we need to mention the name of the band and/or song writer when we do. Do any of them need to be shorter to be permissible for posting (particularly the Pirates Ahoy one)?

NEVER MIND SINCE I NEVER DID GET A POSITIVE ANSWER I WON'T AND WILL REMOVE THE LYRICS HERE IN CASE I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE THOSE THERE EITHER.

@ The Nice Guys

  • Punch-Clock Villain: The Older Guy is a ruthless multiple murderer, but he seems to view Healy with the respect of a fellow professional and shows brief exasperation toward his Trigger Happy partner. He also lectures March for bringing his daughter to a dangerous confrontation and for crying pathetically in front of Holly.
@ The Nice Guys This deliberately isn't a complete sentence, as I'm adding it into the middle of a sentenced listing several One-Scene Wonder characters from a scene at a party.

the woman who complains about how her boyfriend or co-star ate asparagus right before a sex act, a bent-over woman with body paint who Healy briefly mistakes for a table,

@ Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

  • Vitaly's look of stunned joy after he successfully leaps through a flaming ring and gets over his PTSD is pretty touching.

@ Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

    Sundance
Played By: Cassidy Vick Hice
A Manson Family member in the film.
  • Bring Help Back: She's sent to summon Tex when Cliff gets into a fight with Clem.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: She's one of the few fictional Manson Family members in the film, so her real name is unknown and she's only called Sundance.
  • The Reliable One: Sundance is trusted to ride after Tex fast enough to summon him back and seamlessly takes over guiding the tour group for him after doing so.
  • Token Good Teammate: She doesn't seem to take part in hurling abuse at Cliff, shows concern for Clem, and doesn't seem to be involved in any of Charles's crimes.

    Catherine "Gypsy" Share
Played By: Lena Dunham
A relatively high-ranking member of the Manson Family.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She's pretty warm and welcoming when Cliff and Pussycat arrive at the ranch, but quickly becomes somewhat hostile when Cliff insists on seeing George Spahn.
  • Team Mom: She's a little older than most of the other women at the ranch and acts a bit like a concerned parent when Pussycat arrives back later than expected.

Melinda: Those Scooby Doo lyrics shouldn't have quotation marks on every line. Only when the speaker (well, singer) changes.

May 3rd 2021 at 11:17:00 AM

Here are some examples I would appreciate having looked at.

1. This is an example for a new work page I am currently working on offline for a series of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar short stories (if I remember correctly, the names of short stories should be in quotation marks rather than italics):

  • Glamor Failure: During Azkharnís fierce battle with the magmadroth at the end of "Mother of Fire", Helka sees the ancient hearthkarlís form appear as multiple duardin, from various duardin cultures, at the same time.

2. Here is the Valkia example I posted previously with the final sentence rewritten:

  • Purposely Overpowered: In order to represent her position as one of Khorne's favourite warriors, Valkiaís White Dwarf exclusive rules for the board game Gorechosen were intentionally written to make her the most powerful model in the game. The magazine suggests using the Gore Queen as a Crutch Character for inexperienced players or have her fight against multiple opponents at the same time, instead of fighting the usual last man standing matches.

3. This is a small rewrite of an example for Orikan the Diviner on Warhammer 40000 Necrons:

  • Cassandra Truth: Orikanís astrological abilities foresaw that biotransference would result in the Necrontyr losing their souls and being enslavement by the Cítan. The ruling Triach, however, ignored his warnings.

Sebastian:

White Dwarf-exclusive

I'd recommend replacing "the Gore Queen" with "Valkia". People can get confused by elegant variation in things like TV Tropes entries, that they don't read with the concentration they give to, say, War and Peace.

"or have her fighting against"

"last man standing" should be in quotation marks.

"being enslaved by the C'tan."

[up]Thanks[tup] It seems that lately I have been getting more errors when I rewrite things than when I write something new (now watch me post a load of new things over the next few days that all need correction), which is a little worrying as the majority of the edits I want to do are rewrites of existing entries.

I got rid of the quotation marks on every line and now it doesn't look quite right. Also, do I need to put the name of the singer and/or songwriter when putting this as the movies page quote.

Also, here's another entry.

@ Sole Surviving Scientist Adding a sentence to a The Walking Dead entry.

Ultimately, this amounts to nothing, because, like in the comics, Eugene is lying to make people protect him. However, he is pretty good at MacGyvering and making things like batteries and new bullets, which proves useful amid the apocalyptic landscape. @ You've Got Mail The gracefulness his breakup with Kathleen is handled with also helps.

  • Adorkable: Kathleen's moments of vulnerability, enthusiasm about internet chat rooms, and miming punching movements while planning to fight back against Joe's business are all adorable.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The last act of the film could have devoted a little time to Kathleen's employees adjusting to the shop's closure. Christina worries about whether she'd be able to another job earlier in the movie, but seems oddly calm when the shop does close, while George going to work for their foamier competitor happens completely offscreen.
@ A Song of Ice and Fire - The Free Folk
  • Mauve Shirt: Big Boil doesn't have much dialogue or relevance to the plot, but he appears in several chapters and stands out somewhat among the various members of Styr's raiding party.

    Stone Thumbs

Stone Thumbs

One of the raiders who climbs the wall.
  • The Alcoholic: While trying to avoid becoming close with the people he's spying on, Jon thinks that he doesn't want to hear about "how much ale Stone Thumbs could drink."
  • Almost Dead Guy: Jon finds him dying but not dead yet after the Battle of Castle Black. Unusually for the trope, there's no indication of any words or looks of sadness or anger passing between them.
  • Red Shirt: He serves little purpose besides being a Free Folk who Jon knows but is forced to help kill.

Art evolution: In the first 4 episodes, the series was animated in default gacha life. From episode 5 onwards however Rosy has begun fully animating the series and using the gacha club character designs.

Shout out: In episode 1 Henry and Liam argue over weather Stacy or her mom are hotter then the other, this argument between them is referencing the song Stacy's mom has got it going on by fountains of Wayne, Liam even says you have to admit, Stacy's mom has got it going on. In episode 4,Zander rants about how one time a huge debate erupted about weather he's gay or European, referencing the song gay or European from legally blonde, later in the same episode Liam makes a reference to My hero Academia when he tells henry during science class to stop sending Lia my hero academia memes when he complains about her not calling him back.

is this better?

The Bridge:

  • Adaptational Villainy: The Windigos in canon were already dangerous winter spirits that brought misery and strife wherever they went. But the Windigos actions in the fic are even more vile and personal. The three Windigos in the story are guilty of enslaving, raping, and torturing the mothers of the Dazzlings. Their actions are what drove the Dazzlings to try and conquer Equestria. When they ended up in the Equestria Girls world years before the present of the story, they attempt to kill the Human Elements of Harmony when they were young children, and caused the death of Gloriosa's mom when she tried to interfere. In the present, they deceived Sci-Twi and Wallflower into being their minions, manipulating them into mutilating Sonata by stealing her gem.
  • Your Approval Fills Me with Shame: Adagio is crestfallen after her evil Windigo father praises her for letting her anger and rage consume her to the point of giving them greater power than they did before. Adagio tearfully believes she would make a great Windigo.

Some idea for Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War - First Generation.

Lex

  • Action Initiative: One of Lex's personal skills is Vantage, which allows him to attack first when he is below half health.

Finn

  • Last Chance Hit Point: Finn's personal skill is Miracle, which raises his avoid when his HP reaches below 10.

Lewyn

  • A Day in the Limelight: Chapter 4 gives the spotlight to Lewyn over Sigurd. The chapter takes place in his home country, Silesse, where it erupted into a civil war due to a fallout of his father's death and his uncles' political meddling. By the end of the chapter, Lewyn learned to take responsibility of the throne that he left vacant for years.
  • Fragile Speedster: Lewyn's primary stat is his speed, due to his Forseti bloodline granting him an increased speed growth and the eponymous tome that boosts his speed so high that his ability to make follow-up attacks and dodge attacks are off-the-charts. However, he will not have access to Forseti until the end of Chapter 4, so he still suffers the shortcomings all mages face, which is their low defense.

Madness Combat: YMMV

  • Cargo Ship: Hank is sometime jokingly shipped with the giant blender from Incident:001A.
  • Fandom-Specific Plot: The plot of many fan-animations consist of having one or multiple OC protagonists assaulting an AAHW or Nexus building. This is also a plot point that often appear in the canon animations, but the assaults in fan-animations aren't often interupted by unexpected events, unlike in canon.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • Deimos's death is subject of several jokes and memes in the Madness Combat fandom, likely because he dies without much fanfare in the middle of the episode he's introduced in. Although these memes doesn't come from any hatred the fandom has for Deimos as he's a well liked character. His comedic personality in a world of violence is what makes him easy to make memes of.
    • "Remember when it started with a fight over a boombox?" is a sentence fans often say whenever a new episode comes out. It's to point out the contrast between the silly Excuse Plot of the first episode compared to the later episodes.
  • Viewer Name Confusion: The G03LM units from project Nexus are sometime written as "G0L3M" by fans, reading it as "golem".

Is the "project" in Project Nexus supposed to be lowercase?

It is no longer Pico Day.

[up]I think the last sentence for the Deimos part is still important because it explain why the character is so memetic, but I removed the middle sentence. And "Project" being fully lowercase was indeed a mistake from me.
