Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld

Jentry

  • Character Development: As the series progresses, she begins to understand what "normal" truly means for her, embracing her powers along the way.

  • Power Incontinence: One of Jentry's challenges with her powers is that, at times, she unintentionally sets herself or objects nearby ablaze.

YMMV.New Game:

  • LGBT Fanbase: Given the focus on the female oriented Eagle Jump and the amount of Homoerotic Subtext and Les Yay between them, it's no surprise that it has attracted a large sapphic following. This following would only ramp up when the epilogue reveals that Ko and Rin got married when the law was changed, making them a rare confirmed lesbian couple in a non-Yuri Genre manga.

YMMV.Anne An Adaptation:

  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The reframing of Anne and Diana's Pseudo-Romantic Friendship into a outright romance was met with outrage from fans of the original book series, who saw it as a misinterpretation of their friendship in the book series and the author injecting her personal views onto the story at the expense of staying true to the source material (where Anne was straight). It didn't help that this change ends up making Anne/Gilbert — the One True Pairing of the fandom — unlikely.

@ The Woman in White

  • Awesome Ego: Count Fosco is a very grandoise man and, beneath his Big Fun guise, he's more than cunning, charming, and in control of almost any given situation enough to justify that confidence and then some.
    • The 2018 version of Louis the Butler is a Living Prop for the middle part of the show but earns a lot of praise for the way he reaches his Rage Breaking Point with the insufferable Uncle Frederick in the finale and gives him an overdue chewing out that's made of Catharsis Factor.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Many fans of the original novel and certain adaptations wish Walter had ended up with the more intelligent, proactive, Big Sister Instinct-embodying Marian (who some interpret as becoming an Old Maid in the ending) rather than her Damsel in Distress sister Laura, or that the three have a Marry Them All dynamic (and some fans argue the Polyamory option may already be the case in the book and some of the adaptations).
  • Questionable Casting: Book Count Fosco is a sixtyish man with a Big Fun persona, while the 2018 series diverts from this beloved and iconic image by casting the thin, frequently dour, thirty-nine-year-old Riccardo Scamarcio in the part (although he is at least a real Italian, unlike some past Fosco actors, and captures the Bitch in Sheep's Clothing menace and nuance from the book well).
  • She Really Can Act: Olivia Vinall may not have had a resumé full of layered, dramatic leading roles when she was cast as Laura and Anne in the 2018 series, but she gives an A-list performance. She does an expert job of distinguishing the two women both physically (although the makeup department also deserves credit for that) and emotionally, gives both of them many affecting moments of vulnerability, and also gives Laura some layered, believable quirks that many feel elevate her past her literary counterpart.

@ Just the Ten of Us

  • Values Dissonance: The number of older guys leering at the high school student Lubbock sisters during some of the scenes where they are singing at the pizzeria is far from the best-aged part of the show.

@ Shanghai Knights

  • Priceless Ming Vase: Both Chon and a bunch of Mooks fighting in a treasure room take great pains not to drop or knock over the many looted Ming vases there (Chon because they are part of his culture, the goons because of their value), with Chon weaponizing this to make the goons focus on catching vases he tosses at them instead of going on the offensive. Surprisingly, no one ends up shattering any of the art by the end of the fight.

@ Descendants

  • Hades sticks his first through the barrier as it closes, nearly pulls it open, and partially drains Mal's magic when she tries to send him back while ranting about how he is a god and not meant to be confined.
  • It might not have been the right thing to do morally or strategically and has immediate consequences, but Cecilia dropping Mal's magic ember into water that nullifies its power can still feel satisfying coming on the heels of her learning how much Mal lied to her and how badly she betrayed the Isle.

@ Descendants Rise Of Red

  • Broken Base: Some fans think the The Character Died with Him reference to Carlos is very respectful and in-character for the Fairy Godmother, while others find it unnecessarily explicit and dissonantly downer after his absence already got a more Uncertain Doom and equally respectful shout-out along those lines in the Royal Wedding short.

@ Serge

  • Bully Hunter:
    • Serge liked to turn his Vigilante Man death traps on those he watches remorselessly victimize vulnerable people, physically, emotionally, or financially.
    • On two occasions, Reggie from Naked Came the Florida Man uses force to stop other kids from using it against Chris.
    • Chris from Naked Came the Florida Man catches rabbits near the Everglades for fun and a source of income as a kid and knows her math and science books better than the teachers.
    • Chris’s nemesis Captain Crack Nasty starts out as a lazy, greedy, poorly groomed redneck, and while he remains most of those things, once he finally drops the laziness, he proves highly skilled and enthusiastic about researching old treasure wrecks.

@ Babylon 5

  • Minbari Reluctant Warrior Alyt Bramner may be a Posthumous Character, but his deep roots and investment in both the Religious and Warrior Castes likely made his life unique and colorful.
  • Alisa, the young human telepath who goes to live with the Minbari and later becomes a respected figure in their society according to a short story, is likely navigating early challenges in her life off-screen for seasons 2-5.

Hi Arivne, here's a summary for Totally Spies, season 5 episode, Evil Gymnasts that I want to show you.

Jerry decides to take the girls to a vacation in Europe, starting with Paris, France, where there's a case of a female Romanian gymnastics team who has gone missing, and while the girls soon find the team safe and sound and also meet their strict coach, Nadia. They also discover several weakened monkeys at the Paris Zoo and decide to go undercover at the gymnastics competition to find out if there's a connection between the Romanian team and the monkeys.

Meanwhile, Alex contacts several distant relatives in Paris, and after some unusual family customs, she briefly considers moving in with them, only to find out that they're not related to her at all.

And some tropes:

  • Atrocious Alias: Jerry sends the girls to go undercover at the gymnastics competition by posing as a team from a fake country named "WOOH Pstanza".
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Nadia's team becomes agressive and wild while under the influence of her monkey-agility inducing powder.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: When the girls infiltrate Nadia's gym and are caught by her and her team. Nadia immediately assumes the girls are spies, but also believes that they were sent by rival gym teams wanting to discover Nadia's techniques.

Hi, I want to add editor notes (notes are only shown in the editor, next to markups) for SiIvaGunner's Awesome Music and Awesome Moments pages to clarify the former is for music only and the latter should focus on non-music elements because of the former. Please give suggestions on how I could better phrase these notes, and please redirect my query elsewhere if I asked the wrong forum.

Here are the notes:

Awesome Music: Entries for this page are for Music Only. If a rip or upload has both music and non-music elements, document the music here whereas others will go in Awesome Moments instead.

Awesome Moments: Because of Awesome Music's purpose, entries for this page should be focused on non-music elements of uploads and rips.

Got some more trope entries to check for spelling and grammar errors.

Total Disventure All Stars

  • Big Bad Ensemble: In practice, Alec, Riya, and Gabby all share the role of main antagonist of the season. Alec is the one who founded the Villains’ Alliance, where he unites all the antagonists from Total Drama and Disventure Camp together while serving as their de-facto leader. Among the villains within that alliance, Riya is the antagonist causing the most conflict in the season and forms a Big Bad Duumvirate with Alec before she eventually betrays him. Meanwhile, Gabby suffers from Sanity Slippage as a result of the Trauma Conga Line she had to endure transforming into a more cutthroat and villainous contestant and becomes the Final Boss once Alec and Riya have been eliminated.
  • Big Bad Wannabe:
    • Given that the Villains’ Alliance consists of past antagonists, it comes to no surprise that many of them become this. Both Ellie and Fiore are eliminated before the merge once their allegiance to said Alliance are exposed, while Julia and Yul end up getting eliminated during the merge. Even Alec and Riya becomes this when they get eliminated before the finale, while it is Gabby (who join the Villains’ Alliance in the middle of the merge) who becomes the Final Boss, especially since Bowie and MK have performed their Heel Face Turns and are no longer considered to be antagonists.
    • Chris McLean reveals himself to be this. While he was the overall Big Bad of Total Drama, he was only able to carry out his horrible actions onto his contestants and get away with it because he was the host of that show. Once he loses that position to Kristal and his former sidekick Chef Hatchet, he also loses the power and influence he had on the show and his attempts to get it canceled is foiled the moment it is revealed in the penultimate chapter, once his former allies, Chef, Emily, and Trevor turn on him.
  • Decomposite Character: With Emily getting demoted instead of fired like in canon and Chris McLean appearing in this story, the latter takes Emily’s role as the Pre-Final Boss who tries getting Disventure Camp cancelled.
  • Foil: Riya and Yul are this to each other. Both stood out among all this other contestants as the most hated and amoral villains in the competition to the point that their actions disgust other antagonists. However Yul was already a Jerkass long before he competed in Disventure Camp while Riya started off as a Nice Girl before the game corrupted her into becoming a Big Bad. Their villainous actions had an impact with their reputation with the audience which in turn impacted how they acted in All-Stars, with Yul being reviled by the public for his horrible behavior causing Yul be pretend being a nicer person which ends up failing because Yul’s too much of a vile person to make it work, while is adored by the public for her acts of villainy causing her to maintain her villainous persona even if at the cost of her personal relationships, much to Riya’s regret. Both ended of mistreating their Love Interests, Grett and Connor respectively, and are told of other competitors to apologize to them after they get eliminated, but Yul refuses to do so believing it to be pointless since Grett won’t forgive Yul for how he treated her regardless if he apologizes or not, while Riya does apologize to Connor and feels better after Connor accepts her apology, even if he makes it clear that their relationship is forever dead.
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: Riya goes through one after she’s been eliminated. While she does enjoy being a famous actress as a result of her villainy and don’t want to loose her career she realizes that she went too far with her actions in the reality show. She at least apologizes to Alec and Connor for how she treated them and is satisfied when they accept her apology.
  • Pre-Final Boss: Chris becomes the main antagonist in the penultimate chapter "What’s Mine is Mine" where he enacts his plan to get Total Disventure All-Stars canceled. Gabby then takes over as the True Final Boss after Chris is dealt with.
  • True Final Boss: With Bowie an MK undergoing their Heel Face Turns, every other member of the Villains’ Alliance getting eliminated, and Chris getting defeated in the penultimate chapter, Gabby becomes the main antagonist for the final chapter.
Disventure Camp
  • Pre-Final Boss: Emily becomes the main antagonist in the penultimate episode "What’s Mine is Mine" where she enacts her plan to get Disventure Camp canceled. Riya then claims her role as the final villain after Emily is dealt with.

Jerry decides to take the girls on a vacation in Europe...and while the girls soon find the team safe and sound and also meet their strict coach, Nadia.

^ If you're going to use "while" like this in a sentence, you need to include a contradiction at the end of the sentence, like this:

^ "While Karen doesn't like school in general, she loves math class."

^ What you wrote above: "and while the girls soon find the team safe and sound and also meet their strict coach, Nadia." is missing the second half that contradicts the first half (like "she loves math class.").

Do I have mistakes?

  • Ken Masters is another Street Fighter deity who also despises Noah Cross, since for him, anyone willing to support JP immediately became his enemy. He also feels deep disgust at the fact that Cross regularly sexually abuses his daughter, since Ken, being a father who loves his son very much, could not understand how someone could be so cruel to his own kid. Overall, Ken considers him to be the worst kind of scum, and he is happy to help Chun Li send him in prison where he will rot for the rest of his days, but Ken wants it to happen after he breaks Cross's face.
  • As a person with a very materialistic outlook on life, Noah Cross established working connections with Looten Plunder and Mr. Burns. He gets along quite well with the former, since Cross highly values Looten as a serious businessman who is not afraid of risks in pursuit of profit and as a person who capable to do anything to achieve his goals. In turn, the Eco-Terrorist respects Cross for being a man of absolute greed and selflessness, and Plunder was also very happy that Noah inherited his former title of God of Corrupt Corporate Executives, since he considers Cross worthy of this position. However Cross doesn’t fare so well with Mr. Burns, largely due to the fact that Burns finds him and his actions too disturbing even compared to his own standards, because of this, Noah and Burns rarely interact with each other their the relationship is purely professional. Although Bruns would never admit it out loud, but any interaction with Cross makes him feel very dirty.
  • Much of surprise of many deities, but he also is opposed by Jaime and Cersei Lannister. While Jaime’s hatred towards Cross was still understandable, as despite his flaws and some questionable actions he had committed in the past, Jaime was not without moral principles and he still loved everyone in his family. Many did not expect that Cersei Lannister would as oppose him and for everyone it became sensation and shock. Cross when he found out about it, immediately pointed out Cersei’s hypocrisy, while stating that like him, she maintained incestuous relationship with a member of her family. Cersei didn’t deny these statements, but she also pointed out that at least she did not force Jaime to do this and that she truly loved and cared for all her children. Unlike Cross who not only showed no affection for his daughter, but also actively sexually abused her and showed no sadness over her death. Cersei went even further by saying that Noah was even bigger bastard than Tyrion and that she would rather his’s presence over Cross’s presence. Most of the deities considered it an achievement that he was able to disgust even people like Lannisters.
  • Amity Bright hates Cross to the core, largely due to the fact that she considers him an even worse version of her mother. Despite the fact that Odalia was absolutely terrible and vile person who saw her family nothing more than tools, even she didn’t reach the levels of depravity that the head of water department did. That’s why Amity vowed to put end to Cross’s threat and make him suffer for all evil he has done to his own family and innocent people. In turn, Noah is very afraid of her, because he understands that if she decide to strike, he will not able to protect himself, so diligently tries to avoid confrontations with her.

YMMV.Transformers Rise Of The Beasts

  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Noah and Kris refer to each other as "Sonic and Tails". A year after the film's release, it was announced by Hasbro that Sonic and Tails would be made into Autobots as part of a collaboration with Sega.

Recap.Secret Level 2024 S 1 E 6 Circle:

  • Wham Shot: It's revealed at the end of the short that the Swordsman was only one of many and an Expendable Clone, with the next one soon being awakened by Puck.

  • Decomposite Character: Pac-Man's usual role is split into the humanoid Swordsman and the floating Puck.

YMMV.Secret Level 2024 S 1 E 6 Circle

  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Pac-Man fans were utterly furious about the short having absolutely nothing in common with the lighthearted games that it is based on, with many expressing disappointment that the team went with something so radically different instead of using the pre-established lore featured in the games and other adaptations, and doubly disappointed at Bandai Namco for letting the team radically alter their property instead of taking a stronger stance on ensuring Pac-Man remains faithful.

Serge Storms

  • Cheyenne Lovitt from Naked Came the Florida Man is the more forward and dominant partner in her trysts with Serge, admits to feeling awkward and frustrated about how many of her sexual partners want a commitment from her and is turned on by a lot of Serge's eccentricities. She is a helpful motel employee who rarely takes vacation days, likes chatting about history, and helps keep homophobic picketers from harassing families at funerals.
  • Raised by Grandparents: In Naked Came the Florida Man, Chris lives with her grandmother and denies having any knowledge of her parents' whereabouts.
  • Right Hand Versus Left Hand: In No Sunscreen for the Dead, data miner Benmont is hired to find information about people with certain Social Security numbers and later learns that Sonic and Starling, two other employees of the company, got hired by some of those same people to keep their data private, but confidentiality policies at the company kept that from being shared with Benmont's division.
