Thanks @ serge awesome
@ Funny Serge
- Coleman somehow thinks that smoking a bong inside a hollowed out book will make people think he is more intelligent.
- Serge calls a tip line to report one of his crimes (and go on a long tangent about elementary school tattletales) only to learn he dialed the wrong number and is talking to a weirded-out pizzeria employee.
@ Serge Storms Samurai
- Salenca and his crew from The Pope of Palm Beach are drug cartel stooges who have branched out into corrupt accounting and a bogus waste disposal protected by shell companies but can still get their hands dirty when necessary.
- Hired to Hunt Yourself: A double version occurs in the final flashbacks of The Pope of Palm Beach. A group of cops investigating the events behind a massacre at a drug buy were all taking bribes to let that drug buy happen without interference. Then, when the cartel shooters are murdered the next day, the cops promise the cartel bosses that they will keep an eye out for whoever did that when they were the culprits (after the cartel goons threatened the cops for trying to run them out of town over the massacre).
- How They Treat the Help: Most antagonists and targets of Serge are awful to service people, while most of the people Serge gets along with are generous and patient under similar circumstances (providing they have the money), although there are a few exceptions.
- While fairly nice to his neighbors, Gaylord Wainscotting from Atomic Lobster is introduced brusquely micromanaging his lawn crew.
- Salenca and his crew from The Pope of Palm Beach may be ruthless gangsters, but still leave a tip of several hundred dollars even when the waiter has to apologetically shoo them out of the restaurant at closing.
- Writing About Your Crime: Possibly done preemptively in The Big Bamboo with Pedro, a movie set carpenter, aspiring actor and script writer who has an unproduced screenplay about a carpenter who deliberately causes a fatal accident that kills a movie star and then gets hired to replace the actor. In the "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue, Pedro gets his acting break under suspiciously similar circumstances to that screenplay.
@ Percy
- Echidna is the mother of monsters and could have some mutual It's Personal hatred with the heroes given how they kill so many of her offspring and she is a particular sadistic Jerkass to them (unlike the average Affably Evil villain) and a Karma Houdini after nearly killing Percy, but she only has one early scene and never appears again when her allegiance to one side or another and potential death or incarceration could shake up the status quo.
- Violently Protective Girlfriend:
- Falling Leaves rescues her husband Chon and crush Roy from one jail and one gallows.
- The saloon girl Roy is flirting with right before his first team-up with Chon defends Roy from several saloon toughs with her fist and a bottle, and a prostitute who flirts with Chon smashes Van Cleef over the head as he is strangling Chon.
- Hyper-Competent Sidekick: Lin is just as good of a martial artist (and Combat Pragmatist in an emergency) as her brother, has a better lay of the land, and shows more resourcefulness with her jailbreaks.
- Not only does Chon get more fighting scenes than in the last movie, but he also has to go up against opponents with more formal combat training and who put him more on the defensive than the average brawler from the last movie, but he still remains an unstoppable force against anyone who isn't Rathbone or Wu Chow.
- Lord Rathbone's partner Wu Chow also manages to beat Chon in a fair martial arts duel, with only a Combat Pragmatist Big Damn Heroes moment from Lin saving him.
- Both of Chon Lin's Prison Escape Artist moments (one off-screen) show off her agility and ability to scrounge useful tools out of nothing.
- Chon's Cool Old Guy father briefly ambushes one of his attackers and holds him at sword point in the opening scene.

A third major update to the hack with new enemies and an undisclosed number of new endings has been teased on the creator's YouTube channel, with this update being planned for release in 2025.
Here's looking at you, kid.- Ship-to-Ship Combat: While it's tame, there is the occasional flare-up between Hilda/David and Hilda/Frida shippers over who's better for Hilda. Some argue in favor of David, due to feeling his levelheaded and meek personality contrasts and compliments Hilda's reckless personality perfectly, on top of David being a general Nice Guy, while others argue Frida is just as complimentary to Hilda and has a closer friendship with her, not to mention Hilda's status as a human familiar to Frida in "The Witch". Ironically, the show's third season would throw a wrench into both ships by teasing David/Frida.
Trivia.Hilda The Runaway AU:
- Outdated by Canon: "The House on the Sand" was written two years before the show's third season and provides a different answer as to where Victoria landed in at the end of "The Windmill" than canon. In "The House on the Sand", Victoria merely landed on a beach, taking residence at a small cabin with her artificial Nisse. In the season 3 episode, "The Fairy Isle", however, it is revealed that Victoria ended up in Fairy Country, building a radio tower in order to get back home.
YMMV.The Boy And The Heron:
- Visual Effects of Awesome: One of the few things that fans can agree on is that this film is Hayao Miyazaki at his absolute best as an animator, with the film being jam-packed with gorgeously animated sequences. One seemingly simple but noteworthy scene is the old ladies walking with Mahito in the beginning, as not only does each character have their own distinctive walking cycles, but the sequence is animated on onesnote , resulting in silky smooth animation that would make the late Richard Williams proud.
- Broken Base: This is perhaps Hayao Miyazaki's most contested film since Howl's Moving Castle, with fans being heavily split on it. Some consider the film to be on par with Miyazaki's other work and a beautiful and moving masterpiece about the nature of grief and moving on. Others, however, find it to be a disjointed and incomprehensible mess that relies too much on ambiguity and subtext at the expense of a concise narrative. With that said, the reception from critics is far more widely positive.
- Ambiguous Situation: A key aspect of his works is that many of the supernatural aspects (like Totoro in My Neighbor Totoro and the spirits in Spirited Away) are deliberately kept ambiguous and open to interpretation, with it never being exactly clear how they function or if they were even real at all.
Trivia.The Wind Rises
- Creator's Oddball: This film is one for Hayao Miyazaki, as it is a far more grounded biopic film centered around the life of the real-life Jiro Horikoshi, with almost none of the supernatural or fantastical elements usually present in Miyazaki's work (outside of Dream Sequences). This is also one of only two Miyazaki films to avert No Hugging, No Kissing between its main characters, with Jiro and Naoko becoming a married couple.note

Um... Someone, please check some of my edits... I'm not so sure if the em-dashes are connected like this "A—B" (attached the two) or "A — B" (leaving space). And yes... I had replaced a lot of "A — B" with "A—B" before joining this post... (I think I started doing this type of edit around November 24 this year)

-The White MinkJentry Chau vs. the Underworld
- Animesque: The show pays tribute to its anime influences, particularly through its expressive character portrayals.
- Keeping Secrets Sucks: Gugu’s decision to keep the truth about Jentry's parents and the origins of her powers hidden ultimately leads to profound heartache for Jentrey. This secrecy pushes her grandniece to take drastic actions, resulting in catastrophic consequences.
Hello everyone, I was asked to come here for a while to get my edit proposals fixed, since this is what partially led me to currently not being allowed to edit.
This is an example I would like to add to Nolan Kasenti's entry on the characters page of Ghost Force :
Faux Affably Evil: In the Christmas special, Nolan Kasenti acts nice and cool towards Mike in order to manipulate him. He praises his talent, offers him a Christmas present and suggests calling him with an Affectionate Nickname. But as soon as Kasenti has gotten what he wants, he becomes extremely cold. He cuts short the conversation with Mike, has his security guards escort the kid out of his office and bluntly demands for the leaving Mike to call him "Mr. Kasenti".
Thanks for your help!

Thanks, Arivne.
- Jerkass Realization: Eeden has one in "S2: Episode 2" when she realizes that she had been putting Bell on a pedestal and acting on her own self interests, while not being there for Bell when she needed her most, ultimately concluding that her selfish and mean behavior is why Bell went with Hayley in the original timeline.
Fanon.Five Nights At Freddys:
- While there's no official answer as to why "Toreador's March" plays when Freddy appears, fans speculate that the music was originally meant to soothe frightened children during power outages, which is ironic, given what the song invokes in-game.
YMMV.Disney Animated Canon:
- Tough Act to Follow: This is partially why the Experimental Era was considered an Audience-Alienating Era for the time, as the films had the misfortune of following up on the highly acclaimed films of the Disney Renaissance, which is widely regarded as being the peak of Disney animation. While few of the films are regarded to be bad, their more experimental concepts failed to capture critics and audiences who wanted more stuff akin to Disney's Renaissance fare. Tellingly, most of the films of the era would start to become Vindicated by History after nostalgia for the Renaissance had began to fade.
- Broken Base: What exactly counts as a "muppet"? Some only consider the main Muppet Show muppets as being the Muppets for the sake of simplicity and because legally speaking, they are that, while others like to add the Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock characters into the group due to being created by Jim Henson, their occasional crossovers with the Muppet Show cast, and having been historically referred to as Muppets in the past. This isn't even getting into stuff like Sam and Friends, Hey! Cinderella or Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, which have used the Muppet term and/or feature characters from The Muppet Show.
Edited by Tylerbear12 on Dec 8th 2024 at 3:20:19 AM
- The whole first meeting between Kaz, Oliver, and Skylar. Kaz lets slip Oliver kissed a cardboard cutout of her and then Oliver zones out at the mental image of Skylar in her underwear as she describes how her recent defeat included the loss of her costume.
- He's Just Hiding: Since several staff members and regular superhero patients at Mighty Med have the powers of invulnerability or to freeze time or teleport (and many superheroes would be likely to save the doctors to if they could due to Chronic Hero Syndrome), many fans imagine that a lot fewer people died there than believed and many escaped and are in hiding.
- The way Serge exposes Kenny to danger by ruining the secret of how he is in hiding in The Pope of Palm Beach seems a lot less selfish and reckless if Serge is deliberately drawing out the cartel to come after Kenny so he can kill them, both to avenge his old hero Darby and so that Kenny can finally live in peace.
- In The Pope of Palm Beach, while Salenca and his crew are gone, their boss, the person with the actual personal vendetta against Kenny, is still out there and Serge is no longer protecting Kenny (although it is possible the goon the police arrest ratted the boss out and/or that the boss soon died of his extensive health problems).
- I Do Not Like Green Eggs and Ham: In The Pope of Palm Beach, Kenny shuns books for the first few decades of his life due to being unimpressed by the required reading 1960s schools had. Once his friend Darby gets him to give Kurt Vonnegut a try, Kenny becomes a constant bookworm who only slows down when he decides to write his own novel.
- Ensemble Dark Horse:
- Despite some arguable Billing Displacement, Charmaine has relatively little screentime and characterization for most of the film, but her spunky, Smarter Than They Look traits make her a common fan favorite.
- Wilder might have the least screentime of Sarah Jane's bosses but is probably the most popular of them for being the most calculating, snarky, and Faux Affably Evil of them.
This only increases after too much cotton on the market hurts the demand and Waller goes into debt while his brother gets richer by investing in banking, to the point where Waller punches his brother out cold for rubbing it in.
- Bait the Dog: In the film, Mrs. Waller is far more benevolent than her husband for the most part, but is still willing to invoke He Knows Too Much on Sarny after realizing Sarny knows about her affair with a neighbor and is willing to use it as blackmail and then deamnds that she be sold when that fails.
- Cruel to Be Kind: In the film, Turner's oldest son Jeffrey beats Nightjohn to the ground with his rifle butt and orders the overseer to sell him to the first trader passing by, but his father was about to shoot Nightjohn for defiance and Jeffrey's face indicates this is an act of mercy rather than Pragmatic Villainy.
- Exact Words: In the movie, Waller promises not to separate Sarny and her mother by selling the baby to another plantation. He ends up selling her mother.
- Lighter and Softer: The film omits scenes of Waller having slaves castrated or eaten alive by his dogs and has him focused more on preserving his business, and the whipping scenes are shorter and less explicit.
- Oblivious Guilt Slinging: In the film, Anti-Villain Jeffrey Walker apologizes to the slaves for his father's recent actions, thanks them for their help with the harvest, and talks about seeing Outlaw as a friend when the group was talking about Outlaw's escape plan before he arrived, and while they are mainly afraid of discovery throughout the scene, there does seem to be some genuine awkwardness.
- Would Rather Suffer: In the film, when the other slaves point out that Delie could have stayed a house slave, she says that backbreaking labor in the cotton fields is preferable to faking allegiance and respect to the Wallers all day.
- Nightjohn reveals that he snuck back South after escaping slavery to try and be a teacher from hiding in the woods (although he got caught instead), and achieving this dream after his new escape.
The Film of the Book
- As awful as Waller is, his punching his brother, a more successful and smarmy fellow slaver, unconscious over a bit of taunting is satisfying.
- Nightjohn defiantly refuses to back down after having two of his fingers cut off for teaching the other slaves how to read, and continues to draw letters in the dirt while sporting a Death Glare.
- Sarny stands up in the middle of church when Waller threatens to kill all the slaves unless they reveal who can read, revealing it's her by saying what his ledger says each of them is worth and taunting Waller that he can't afford to kill them due to how Land Poor he is and now they know it.
@ How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
- Is Ruffnut really just a frivolous, annoying, Fearless Fool captive or is she deliberately trying to annoy Grimmel?

Do I have mistake?
- In the Pantheon, Noah Cross ascended after a long and drawn-out trial by the Court of the Gods. All its members, after learning his case, came to the unanimous conclusion that for all his numerous acts of corruption, the negligence with which he treated the construction of the dam, which resulted in its collapse and the deaths of five hundred people, and using status and reputation to hide his criminal activities, Noah Cross was disgustingly worthy of the title God of Corrupt Corporate Executives.
- For obvious reasons he is pariah for almost all deities in the house of Family and Relatives. Some deities such as Shoto Todoroki and the Incredible Family wants Cross to receive the punishment he deserves and put him behind bars forever. And others just want to beat the crap out of him, which include Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman, Edward Newgate, Brighid and Aegaeon. It is also worth to noting that Noah is so despised that even pacifists such as Jun Kazama, Sophitia Alexandra and Piccolo consider Cross to be a hideous monster who does not deserve any mercy. All of this ultimately simply cemented his title as one of the biggest hate sinks in the Pantheon.
- Although he does not consider Ragyo Kiriyuin an ally, given that they have completely different goals, Cross is at least willing to respect the fact that she uses similar methods of education for... discipline of her children as he does. And in general he respects and appreciates her style and grace. In turn, Ragyo found it fascinating that another parent with a similar mentality and interests had ascended to the Pantheon, which is why she found him a much more interesting conversationalist than Ghetsis or Relius.

Thanks
- Badass Bookworm: Sinister scientist Caveel can join his enforcers in a firefight (albeit not too competently) and merely complains about some damage to his jacket afterward.
- Don't Make Me Destroy You: Yar asks Guri not to make him shoot her as she charges at him. He is Underestimating Badassery, though.
- Fanservice Extra: Thumble's girlfriend only appears in about half a dozen panels and has no dialogue, wears a Sexy Backless Outfit with a Navel-Deep Neckline and only a few thin straps connecting the front and back halves of it.
Canterville Ghost
- Adaptation Name Change: Stars and Stripes are renamed Theodore and Franklin (referencing the Roosevelt presidents) in the 2021 series, and the non-Adapted Out younger brother in the 1996 film is named Adam.
- Bastard Bastard: The late King Daeron's half-brothers Bloodraven and Bittersteel are both portrayed as cruel, ambitious men with little to no genuine love or loyalty for the families who give them respect and status, while Princess Elaena's bastard son Jon Waters is aiding her in plotting to betray their hosts to the Blackfyres.
- Making Love in All the Wrong Places: Despite their Incompatible Orientation, Kiera of Tyrosh convinces Daemon to give her a Sex for Solace handjob before her unhappy Arranged Marriage to Daeron the Drunkard, who is passed out right next to them as they ride a carriage to the Red Keep.
- Replacement Goldfish: Elaena suggests that part of what draws Kiera to Daemon (in addition to their shared Tyroshi heritage) is that, when he dyes his hair, he resembles her late husband Valarr.
- Silk Hiding Steel: Cheerleader Sandra Stenfield and Shrinking Violet artist Holly Marshall are among the most bubbly and dainty (respectively) of the supporting girls and are among the people who like Carrie best at school, but are also among those most afraid to stand up for her for most of the story. But during the Black Prom, both show a particular amount of courage and resolve. Sandra is one of the first people to recognize that Carrie needs help after having blood dumped on her, as many of her classmates are too startled to react (or are enjoying the show) and later tries to drag Heather to safety rather than let her get trampled, and even shields her with her own body, while Holly crawls out of her safe hiding place and navigates various flying objects to get to her friend and date Freddy Holt and check him for signs of life (sadly, she doesn't find any).
- Harmony seems poised to avoid being turned into a soulless vampire in this timeline due to the Mayor's early defeat, and Wesley even considers getting her to become a full-time Scooby (although this is an Aborted Arc).
- Too Clever by Half: Cartel accountant turned crew captain Salenca from The Pope of Palm Beach is perceptively opportunistic, a meticulous and audacious manipulator, a Badass Bookworm who will lead his men in the field, and has a good grasp of Pragmatic Villainy, but overthinking things is repeatedly his undoing. On multiple occasions, he becomes wrongly convinced someone is lying to him due to doing a careful check of the area and finding evidence that (coincidentally) goes against their story. When that happens, he tends vent his anger by shooting first (or in one case not shooting when that evidence wrongly convinces him that his prisoner directed him to the wrong house when he actually is face-to-face with his target) rather than bother to continue questioning someone he is convinced has lied to him. This costs him vital intelligence, opportunities, a hostage, or all three.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: The more fleshed-out, competent, and long-lived versions of Joyce and Hunter in this story are still secondary characters but receive a lot of recognition and praise.
- Ensemble Dark Horse:
- Kindly Housekeeper Mrs. Clements is often singled out as a favorite among the secondary and tertiary characters.
- The Bunny-Ears Lawyer parish clerk only appears in a couple of scenes near the end of the story, but his Small Role, Big Impact Spotting the Thread moment makes a big impression.
- Canon Foreigner Scrivener Erasmus Nash from the 2018 miniseries earned a lot of praise for his sadly stoic, Creepy Good personality and dogged analytical detective skills.
- Jerks Are Worse Than Villains: Sir Percival is often portrayed as a Complete Monster and Fosco as The Heavy, and both cruelly destroy the lives of sympathetic characters to protect their money and power, but both get just enough depth and flamboyance for plenty of fans to hate them less than Bystander Syndrome Evil Uncle and all around Jerkass Frederick.
- The Woobie:
- Anne Catherick has been betrayed by her own mother, institutionalized for years without cause, spends most of her scenes as a jumpy and fatalistic Broken Bird, and dies while thinking that she has failed to save Laura and that her abusers will win.
- Laura is a gentle, compassionate young woman who is badly abused by the husband she was forced to marry, separated from the people who care about her, then is forced to switch identities with Anne Catherick and is sent to a Bedlam House where she spends months imprisoned, with her initially being even more rattled and traumatized than the real Anne after her escape (to the point where she considers suicide in some adaptations).
