These are head scratcher tropes for the Ghostface Tamber Series.

• Why does Tara want Sheriff Judy dead? I can understand her wanting Wes dead as he harassed her and sent her a note saying she can do better than Amber by being with him, but why Judy as well?

• Why is Tara happy to see her mom when the latter returns from a work conference in the second story when, in the first story, she said to Sam that their mom was a lame ass excuse for one?

I am correcting one of my tropes for the Ghostface Tamber Series and some for Into The Depths.

Ghostface Tamber Series

• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: After finding Amber and Tara watching a movie with the volume turned up loud, Sam berates them for doing so because Judy and Wes were killed and while telling Tara she won't stop worrying about her, Sam is talked back to by Amber for not caring when she abandoned Tara and left her to look after their alcoholic mother for years.

Amber: Now you care, how ironic.

Sam: What did you say?

Amber: (chuckles dryly) You didn't seem to care much when you abandoned your thirteen-year-old sister to look after your drunken mother. But now she got attacked and has eyes on her and you're suddenly finally acting like an older sister.

Into The Depths

• Killed Offscreen: Most of the royal guards are killed offscreen (although you do hear a scream in Twilight's flashback to when she and Luna went to the castle).

• No Time to Explain: When Twilight asks what's happening as she hears screaming and sees that Luna looks scared, the princess answers with this trope.

• Rage Breaking Point: After they fail to escape the castle in the Everfree Forest because the door they came in from is magically sealed, Path Finder, a member of the royal guard, has a mental breakdown because of it and when Twin Blades, another royal guard, tries to calm him down, he talks back to her, saying they're dead, the other guard tackles him, reminding him of his duty and how she also wants to escape the castle.

Twin Blades: You say we're dead? Well then, let me put all of us out of our misery. Would you like that? No? Then get a hold of yourself! We're not dead yet and until we are dead, we're going to keep on fighting to get out. Why? 'Cause I want to see the sun again! 'Cause I want to see my friends and family again! Because I don't want to die in some forsaken tunnel in the middle of the Everfree Forest!

Thanks. I wasn't as busy as I thought, so I'll just hold off about a third of what I wrote for the next round instead.

@ Holmes on the Range

@ Holmes on the Range

  • No Hallowed Ground:
    • Mr. Pixley's eulogy for the rest of his posse, his old war buddies, is a mixture of heartwarming and tearjerker.
    • The Dreaded gang leader Blaze Bad Water can be surprisingly tender with his hostage Onawa, looking for excuses not to kill or hurt her badly, with it being hinted she reminds him of his mother.

@ Knightriders

  • When a couple of Neo-Nazi tourists steal some of the fair's weapons, the jousters chase them down over the country dirt roads, take their weapons back, and leave the Nazis bikes wrecked.
  • Dame Rocky knocks a local rowdy biker off his motorcycle with a lance while she is on foot.
  • An injured Billy, his own blood running down his sword, marches up to the Indian to make him submit after their joust.
  • The Indian cuts a rival biker's lance in half with a wheelie.
  • One of Morgan's knights jumps off a ramp to ram into one of Alan's bikers and eliminate them both.

@ Knightriders

  • Morgan's sense of embarrassment as he has to model metal-studded underwear, with even his fellow models snickering at the spectacle.

@ heartwarming Cossack

  • After initially warring with the sounds of their guitar and balalaika, Sammy and Ilya eventually start playing them together and enjoying the shared music.

@ Cossack

  • Boring Return Journey: Downplayed. After the surviving cowboys finish their Siberian Cattle Drive and head back home on land and sea, several pages are devoted to the cold winter travel and how several of them get diverted away from returning to Montana by various opportunities or diversions in other European or American cities. Still, as Levi notes, no one dies, so it's a lot less eventful than the trip there.
  • Dashing Hispanic: Mexican Ignacio "Natcho" Rodrigues is a magnificent horseman with gleaming teeth and a flirtatious demeanor that reveals itself in the epilogue when he quits cowboying to woo a Spanish lady.
  • Deliberate Values Dissonance: Several of the white cowboys assume N-Word Privileges to the black ones in a way that can clearly be passive-aggressive or worse at times (especially with Dixie) but is seen as socially acceptable by people in that time (93 years before the date the book was published).
  • Mirroring Factions: While the cowboys and Cossacks both resist the notion at first, it becomes clear that they are both proud horsemen and warriors with similar notions about combat, friendship, debts, and living by your code. Several individual members are also highly similar (Keats and Lt. Bruk are both aging Badass Bookworms, Igor and Levi are both The Baby of the Bunch, Razin and Slim are both Boisterous Bruisers with a lot of Stout Strength, Ilya and Sammy are both musicians, etc.).

@ Intermedio

Intermedio is a 2005 horror film about four California young adults (Edward Furlong, Amber Benson, Cerina Vincent, and Callard Harris) who venture through the tunnels of a ghost town and find themselves menaced by drug dealers hiding in the tunnels and several Revenant Zombies being controlled by a mysterious Evil Sorcerer out to slaughter anyone he deems immoral after the drug-related death of his son.

Tropes in the Movie:

  • Benevolent Monsters: The revenants are being forced to attack and kill people because of the magic controlling them, and one, Zee, is visibly distraught with the whole situation and is constantly guiding Malik and Gen to safety (which he can do because the Big Bad, his father, keeps a laxer control on him).
  • Doomed Hurt Guy: Barbie recently broke her leg, her crutches slow her down as things get dangerous, and she dies around halfway through the film.

@ Intermedio

@ Intermedio

@ Disposable Love Interest

  • Someone to Watch Over Me: The budding romance between Claire and Mike has several complications. Her current boyfriend, who urges her not to cooperate with the police and put Venza away but also leaves town for business rather than stay with her during that trying time, obviously fits this trope. Mike's kindhearted, loving, Silk Hiding Steel wife, on the other hand, doesn't, complicating things for everyone in a painful way.

@ Oddly Small Organization:

  • Someone to Watch Over Me: Joey Venza's Mafia organization is well-known to the NYPD and causes them to give a witness against Venza heavy protection, but, aside from his lawyer, Venza only has two thugs helping him menace the heroes for the whole film.

@ Someone to Watch Over Me

Someone to Watch Over Me is a 1987 Ridley Scott neo-noir movie about NYPD detective Mike Keegan (Tom Berenger), who is assigned to protect socialite Claire Gregory (Mimi Rogers) from a mobster (Andreas Katsulas) she witnesses kill a man. His growing respect for her and determination to keep her safe develops into a typical Bodyguard Crush story...that is atypical in that Keegan has a wife, Ellie (Lorraine Bracco) and son Tommy, with Keegan struggling to tell which woman he loves more, as his compromised judgment puts both of them, and other people he cares about, in danger from the people he is protecting Claire from. Jerry Orbach also appears as Da Chief.

Tropes:

@ Someone to Watch Over Me

  • She Really Can Act: Lorraine Bracco started working on this film with only a few previous minor roles or roles in less known works, but won over fans and critics of the movie alike (likely helping her get future leading roles) with her performance as a spunky housewife who shows some great depth and range after learning her husband cheated on her and while being held hostage along with her son later on.

Here are tropes I've found in the My Little Pony fic, Dictators Of Ponyville.

• Adaptational Heroism: Flim and Flam are mostly portrayed as jerks, but they help the Mane Six escape captivity and trying to stop Chrysalis and her changeling army.

• Berserk Button: After finding out that Applejack caused Granny Smith to die, Apple Bloom yells at her and charges at her, looking like she's going to attack her, only to be stopped by her friends.

• Happily Adopted: After forgiving Rainbow Dash for dropping water from a cloud on her, Scootaloo is adopted into Rainbow's family.

• Berserk Button: After finding out that Applejack caused Granny Smith to die, Apple Bloom yells at her and charges towards her, l

• What the Hell, Hero: Twilight and her friends, Big Macintosh and most of the citizens of Ponyville are given this by Princess Celestia for shunning the Cutie Mark Crusaders because they started a gossip column in the school newspaper.

° After being forced to reveal by Queen Chrysalis and Apple Bloom that she caused Granny Smith to die from a heart attack by shouting at her for making her and Big Mac work extra hard as punishment for driving Apple Bloom and her friends away, causing the old mare to yell back at her and then have trouble breathing and die before a doctor could save her, some of Applejack's friends call her out for causing her grandmother to die.

I have some more trope entries to check for spelling and grammar errors

Disventure Camp

  • My Greatest Failure: A greeting has Ally admit she deeply regretted leaving Jake to be mauled by the bear from "Tick-Tock TikTok"
  • Morality Chain: Tess is this to Ally. Tess is considered to be Ally’s Best Friend who is the one helping Ally feel better about herself and one of Ally’s hopes is that they both make it to the merge where Ally can reunite with Tess. Sadly, Tess gets eliminated just before the merge and without Tess, Ally succumbs to her insecurities where she’s gets corrupted by the game to the point where she pulls her Face–Heel Turn and joins the Villains’ Alliance
  • Stepford Smiler: Riya’s greetings Post-All-Stars has her trying to put up a confident and happy front for her fans on how she achieved everything that she wanted, but this is only a facade she shows in public to hide how miserable she has become after being alone for so long, as seen in the season finale’s ending.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Ally becomes this by All-Stars. Sure she’s become much more temperamental and volatile compared to her Nice Girl self from season 2, but she’s trying cope with all of the hate comments she received online. It doesn’t help that her closest friends, Hunter and Tess, get eliminated fairly early and with the only support she gets is from Riya, who’s only manipulating Ally for her own gain, it’s no surprise that Ally pulls her Face–Heel Turn in "Weight Off Your Shoulders".
  • The Ghost: Though Ally doesn’t appear in this episode, she is mentioned by Jake when he compares Gabby to Ally by calling them button-mashers.
  • Heartwarming Moments: When Jake and Gabby are playing video games, Jake playfully compares Gabby to be a button masher like Ally. This not shows that Jake and Ally are still friends, albeit on the Vitriolic Best Buds side, but also imply that Jake and Ally play video games together and have kept in touch after All-Stars ended.

Total Disventure All Stars

  • The Confidant: Millie ends up being the person who Jake discusses his issues with when they are place on the same team.
  • The Corrupter: Ellie ends up being this to her own girlfriend, Gabby, by telling her not to trust the heroes and turn on them before they get to turn on her. This eventually leads to Gabby siding with the Villains’ Alliance and eliminate Aiden.
  • Create Your Own Villain: The Cyan Team voting off Ally’s Morality Chain, Tess, along with Millie’s decision to prioritize dealing with Jake’s problems over Ally’s issues allows Julia to convince Ally to betray the heroes and eliminate Millie.
  • Enemy Mine: In the superhero simulation, the remaining heroes (Aiden, Gabby, and Jake) and villains (Ally, Grett, Julia, MK, Yul) agree to a truce so that they can take down Ned together. Of course, Yul betrays this truce by subjecting Gabby to Electric Torture, which leads to Ally, Grett, Julia, and MK voting with the heroes to eliminate Yul.
  • Kick the Morality Pet: Despite Millie befriending Ally and willing to help Ally with her issues regard the online hate comments she recieved, Ally eventually decides to vote with the Villains’ Alliance in eliminating Millie after Julia convinces Ally that it is in her best interest to do so.
  • Morality Chain: Like in canon, Tess is this to Ally, with Julia pointing out that Tess is the only major connection Ally has in the Heroes’ Alliance. Sure enough when Tess gets eliminated, the next episode has Ally chose to betray the heroes.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: By eliminating Tess, the Cyan Team has contributed to Ally betraying the heroes and join the Villains’ Alliance, resulting Millie’s elimination and allowing the villains to outnumber the heroes.
  • You Monster!: Priya has called several contestants a monster multiple times: she first called Ellie a monster for insulting her fellow cast members; she later calls Riya a monster for breaking her pulley during the comeback challenge causing Damien to fall into the water.

Here are more tropes for Another Apple Sleep Experiment.

• Plot Twist: Applejack wasn't the one attacking some of her former friends, mind-controlling Fluttershy's animals, tricking Rainbow Dash into killing Soarin and killing other ponies after escaping Canterlot prison. It was her friends, who, after being exposed to a gaseous version of the Sleepless Potion by a still-alive Apple Bloom, hallucinated Applejack being there and killed those ponies and, in Fluttershy's case, animals, believing that the earth pony had killed them or possessed the animals.

° Applejack did escape prison, with help from Apple Bloom, but the former is in a coma from hitting her head really hard in a fight with a guard and is being looked after by Apple Bloom at the Sweet Apple Acres farmhouse.
