In his war against Dragon Flyz and the city of Airlandis, Dreadwing constantly schemes to either conquer or destroy the latter and its humans. Dreadwing tries to have the eggs of Dragons allied with Airlandis stolen and mutated into his soldiers <- no comma before tricking a rival warlord into allying with him to attack Airlandis, only to betray him and his soldiers. He has Z’neth captured and brainwashed into believing he is Dreadwing's son, sending him to attack Airlandis. His other plots include unleashing sleeping sickness on Dragons to leave Airlandis defenseless, taking the Airlandiean settlement hostage and threatening to kill everyone if city doesn’t surrender to him, threatening to use nuclear missiles to destroy Airlandis and tricking giant Dragon into attacking it. Never one to miss an opportunity for cruelty, Dreadwing constantly threatens his minions with death, has Dramen dragonator Dran forced to fight to the death in a cage to free the village of innocent Dramen, planning to drop them all into lava if Dran wins. When a group of kids try to help Dragon Flyz when Dreadwing creates a toxin to turn them into monsters, he uses them as bait and human shields against the heroes. In the penultimate episode, Dreadwing captures Z’neth and councilman Joshua, putting them in the Kangaroo Court, leaving the latter without water for days to force him to testify in Dreadwing’s favor.

^ Is it "tricking a giant Dragon" or "tricking giant Dragons"?

Their exact position in Heaven is hard to pin down. It’s implied they are Seraphim by the number of their wings and Charlie’s Opening Narration makes clear they have a good amount of power, with Lucires’s Imagine Spot during “More Than Anything” having them as manifestation of Heaven and its refusal to listen to view points different than their own. However, Sera (who was shown in the story accompanying Charlie’s narration as part of a separate group which has thrown Lucifer and Lilith to Hell and one who declared Exterminations) is referred to as High Seraphim and seems to be in charge of Heaven, with six figures personifying Elders nowhere to be seen present. All this makes it hard to say if they are Sera’s subordinates, bands of superiors or co-rulers, or if Heaven underwent a regime change between Lucifer’s fall and the start of Exterminations.

Trolls Band Together:

  • An Aesop: You can't aspect those you care about to forgive you right away, even if you haven't seen them in a long time.
  • Only Friend: John Dory's only friend was his trusty companion Rhonda before meeting and befriending Poppy.
  • Lured into a Trap: Velvet and Veneer sent a forged letter to John Dory to lure him, Clay, Bruce and Branch into saving Floyd so they could trap them. Fortunately, Floyd found out about the trap and is able to warn Branch, but was too late to do the same for their older brothers as they ended up getting caught.

@ Batman: Rogues Gallery (Part 1)

@ Batman: Rogues Gallery (Part 3)
  • I Have No Son!: One story features his parents and siblings being targeted by the White Knight, a Well-Intentioned Extremist who is a strong believer in the Villainous Lineage trope. They changed their last name and got rid of their pictures of Jervis due to shame of being associated with his crimes. For his part, Jervis seems far more preoccupied with how the murderer is after him as well than he is about their fates.

@ Secret Six

  • He's Just Hiding: Some fans feel that being shot once from across the room like Pistolera is a pretty survivable and easy-to-retcon death by DC standards, especially since it is never even shown what part of her body the bullet hit.

@ Nightwing

@ Batman
  • Sherman Fine/The Broker and Jenna Duffy/The Carpenter only make a few appearances in the Paul Dini run leading up to the New 52 but are quite popular with fans of that run for being smooth, deceptively formidable Punch Clock Villains.
  • Of the many Love-Interest Traitor women Bruce is involved with, Jezebel Jet is one of the more popular ones despite the brevity of her run, due to her compelling backstory, resources, and attitude toward her ultimate feud with Batman.

@ Star Wars Legends

@ A Song of Ice and Fire

  • Lady Mary Mertyns takes until a preview chapter for the sixth book to appear in person, but delighted fans with her Benevolent Boss and Defiant Captive attitude.

  • The fight Ser Tarbert Serry puts up against Victorian (plus his Uncertain Doom fate) win him some following despite the brevity of his first (and likely only) scene.

  • Golden Company officer Tristan Rivers would be a Bit Character if not for one Rousing Speech, but that speech has won him more acclaim than almost anyone else in his plot thread.
  • Nice Guy sailor Groleo is one of the less important (and unfortunate) players in the Daenerys arc, but some fans still think quite well of him.
  • High Priest Benerro has only made one cameo, but his status as the lead of a religion that is creepy as Hell (possibly even literally) while also opposing the Others and the slave trade wins him a good deal of interest.

@ The Incredibles

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Most of the colorful Supers who are lost to cape malfunctions or Omnidroid prototypes (Stratogale, Macroburst, Gamma Jack, Blazestone, Dynaguy, Hypershock, Splashdown, Psycwave, Everseer, Thunderhead, Apogee, etc.) feel greatly underused, given how not all of them needed to die to make those plot points and they are never shown fighting or dealing with their civilian lifestyles after the public turned on the Supers.

@ Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  • The Hunter of Thrace mentions that, millennia ago, the Gossip Evolution about him said he had rams' horns, and he had to wear a fake pair of them every time he was summoned, or no one would believe it was really him.
  • In One Girl in All the World:
Hacky Sack Vampire: She insulted your mom? Whoa.
    • Spike insults a group of renegade Slayers who are calling themselves The Darkness and suggests they come up with an alternate name that actually has the word Slayer in it and makes some Fun with Acronyms suggestions which they dislike: SASS and ASS.

@ Token Good Cop

  • Alita: Battle Angel: Iron City has no police force, leaving it to the Bounty Hunters to keep criminals off the street, but aside from Wide-Eyed Idealist Alita, her adoptive father, and, to a lesser extent McTeague, they only care about collecting paychecks, which leads them to let criminals who aren't wanted run free and pursue innocent people with prices on their heads.
  • Batman (1989): Many Gotham cops moonlight as mob enforcers, but Commissioner Gordon is a dedicated public servant who is out to break up the mob.
  • Blade Runner: The LAPD is full of officers who are fine with discriminating against or hunting down Replicants, but Punch-Clock Hero Deckard (who hates his job) and his Creepy Good assistant and eventual Secret-Keeper Gaff are exceptions.
  • Dances with Wolves: While not normally working in a law enforcement role, seven soldiers are assigned to escort Dunbar to prison in the final act. Five of them abuse their prisoner and/or shoot harmless animals for much of the trip, but Lieutenant Elgin and an unnamed Sergeant Rock are brave professionals who hold the others at gunpoint to stop one beating.
  • Die Hard: While he does have an Accidental Child-Killer Backstory, Al Powell is the only LAPD cop who is consistently helpful to McClane while acting as his Voice with an Internet Connection.
  • Most street judges in Dredd are corrupt or ineffectual, but Judges Dredd (despite his Pay Evil unto Evil tendencies) and Anderson are powerful fighters who care about the people they are protecting.
  • The Great Escape: Kramer is the only guard at the POW camp who is both willing to genuinely befriend the prisoners and good at foiling escape attempts.
  • Uprising: Many of the Jewish policemen in the Warsaw Ghetto are firmly in Les Collaborateurs territory, but one of them begins helping La Résistance (even assassinating his boss) after seeing how, whatever good intentions some of the policemen have, what they are doing boils down to contributing to genocide and stuffing their own pockets along the way.
  • Mexican Rurales and their predecessor groups enforcing the law near the border in the J.A. Johnstone Western Shared Universe tend to be uniformed criminals who often got their jobs by Trading Bars for Stripes in the most negative sense possible. However, occasionally an honest Ensign Newbie will show up, such as in The First Mountain Man: Preacher's Fortune or Luke Jensen: Bounty Hunter: Dead Shot. The officer in the latter book (who is hunting Dangerous Deserters and whose men also seem like decent guys) fares better than the one in the former book, who is shot by his men when they defect to join the outlaws.
  • The Last Days of Krypton: Commissioner Zod is a Corrupt Bureaucrat who doesn't take long to start Putting on the Reich, and while few of the guards assigned to him are evil or ill-intentioned at the start, they follow bad orders when they're threatened and are easily awed by Zod, which leads to Jumping Off the Slippery Slope. Bur-Al, the fourth-in-command of Zod's department, is prepared to report Zod for stealing technology earmarked for destruction and refuses to let Zod bribe or persuade him otherwise. Unfortunately, he's also Too Dumb to Live, and confronting Zod about this in private gets him murdered.
  • Most FBI agents and police detectives in Blade: The Series are working for the vampires or buy into The Masquerade, but Agent Collins diligently investigates what the vampires are up to and briefly gets help from another agent or two and police detective Gibbs.
  • Krypton: Many of the Sagitari who enforce the laws of Kandor City are well-versed in Police Brutality against the lower classes (whom they show constant disdain for), but Lyta tries to be an Internal Reformist, her mother and Quex-Ul improve their behavior after Heel Realizations, and a handful of minor Sagitari troopers (like Tai-Un, Thur, and Pline) seem like decent people who do their jobs well and without malice.

@ Redwall

As a long-running book series with an intrepid new cast of both heroes and villains in almost every new book, Redwall has a lot of characters whose popularity exceeds their page time.

@ Harry Potter

  • Some fans see Lavender Brown as one of Harry's most frustrating classmates, while others feel that her flaws are blown out of proportion by said fans and that she has plenty of subtle interesting and likable moments.

@ Harry Potter

Due to being one of the most iconic YA works of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries and having no shortage of characters, many secondary or minor characters in the Harry Potter books and films are extremely popular.

  • Narcissa Malfoy is one of the most popular of them all due to having Mama Bear moments that make her one of the least evil and simultaneously bravest members.

Susan Bones of Hufflepuff (a Nice Girl who lost family in the First Wizarding War) and Slytherin Cool Old Guy Horace Slughorn tend to be the most frequently beloved members of each house despite only having a few speaking scenes and taking until Book 6 to debut, respectively.

  • Dumbledore's cynical brother Aberforth and Reasonable Authority Figure Kingsley Shacklebolt don't get many scenes but are easily among the most popular Order of the Phoenix members.
  • Half-goblin badass Flitwick and Not-So-Phony Psychic Trelawney tend to be favorites among the secondary Hogwarts professors.
@ Redwall
  • In the first book, Chickenhoud could have been a good Token Heroic Orc and avoided reinforcing the Always Chaotic Evil impression of the "vermin" that the author was trying to avoid at that point if he really had loved his mother enough to have a genuine Heel–Face Turn after Cluny murdered her and the abbey-dwellers nursed a wounded Chickenhound back to health.

@ FunJungle

  • Older Than They Think: Belly Up is a comedic mystery-thriller book set in a theme park where an animal attraction that is popular with visitors but not the staff was sold to the park under a false name by another park desperate to get rid of him, and has a history of injuring people and being a source of mocking Toilet Humor dies due to the actions of a corrupt security guard after swallowing evidence of a crime that fell into its pen. The same thing is true of the Carl Hiaasen book Native Tongue, published almost two decades earlier, although the death of Orky the Killer Whalenote  is a fairly minor part of Native Tongue while the death of Henry the Hipponote  drives the plot of Belly Up.

@ Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)

Jeong Jeong will appear in Season 3 (if the show goes the full three years) with Piandao as a member of his band, and they will train Aang and Sokka simultaneously.
  • Combustion Man could replace Zhao as Jeong Jeong's old student. Also, Chey could get to be even more of a Dude, Where's My Respect? guy if he's the third person who officially deserted the Fire Nation and lived rather than the second.

Zuko won't turn on Team Avatar at the end of season 2 and will stay with them for the rest of the show.
  • Eliminating Zuko's time back in Ozai's good graces would be useful for streamlining the events of Book 3 and cutting out some Padding.

@ Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)

  • He's Just Hiding: Fans have always argued about the possibility that some of the other airbenders survived in hiding, and seeing the fight they put up in the first episode due to the Adaptation Expansion only enhances that, even for characters who do seem to die on screen with a Gory Discretion Shot (like the first monk to fight the attackers and tornado-conjuring Sister Lio). Also, when Aang finds Gyatso's skeleton, the skeletons of the children Gyatso was protecting don't seem to be in the room with him.

@ Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) S1E1 "Aang"

  • Pursued Protagonist: The episode (and series) begin with an Earth Kingdom spy being chased through a Fire Nation street and delaying pursuers with his powers as he gives stolen war plans to a comrade to take to the Earth King before staying behind to Hold the Line. He is captured, taunted about how the plans were fakes that the Fire Nation wanted the Earth King to have, and then murdered.

@ Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)

  • Wasteland Elder: Gran-Gran is a source of important exposition and is the oldest member of her tribe of isolated, struggling arctic hunter-gatherers who, due to the ravages of war, consist mostly of women and bumbling Child Soldiers led by her grandson.

    Tan
Portrayed by: Osric Chau
A rebellious Fire Nation peasant who makes the mistake of trusting a disguised Azula with a coup plot.
  • Defiant to the End: He keeps telling off Ozai after being captured and facing certain execution and takes a second or two to start screaming as he is burned alive.
  • Rebel Leader: Fed up with the casualties of the royal family's war and believing in the balance the Avatar embodies, he seeks to assassinate Ozai and bring about peace, which leads to a We Hardly Knew Ye fate.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Ozai mocks him for his belief that, even if his plan had succeeded, the Fire Nation guards would have a Heel Realization and join him rather than just killing him and his friends for regicide.

@ Buffyverse: Watchers and Slayers

  • Big Sister Instinct: In the alternate future of The Next Generation novel trilogy, she constantly protects her much younger half-sister and chews her out in an Anger Born of Worry way for voluntarily adopting the dangerous life of a member in the new Scooby Gang, with Vi citing all the deaths or injuries original members suffered.

  • Alternate Self: A second Alternate Universe work that began development around the same time but debuted earlier, Buffy the Last Vampire Slayer also features a daughter of Willow who is both a witch and potential Slayer, Thesally Maclay Rosenberg, who shares some of Frankie's personality quirks.

    The Darkness
A group of renegade Slayers in The Next Generation trilogy. They come into conflict with Frankie Rosenberg. Their leader is Aspen, while other members include Sonia, Gabby, Neha, Kate, and initially Vi.
  • Bullying a Dragon: In addition to the whole mutiny, Kate thinks it is a good idea to nastily mock Frankie about how she sees her as an abomination whose magic is nothing special. And she does it in front of Willow. After being blasted across the room by a magic spell, she seems mildly humbled after climbing to her feet.
  • Broken Bird: Years of brutal war against demonic forces, the loss of friends, and feelings of resentment have robbed them of their innocence and some but not all of their moral compasses.
  • Dating Catwoman: Aspen has a long and passionate relationship with her new enemy Frankie's close ally Grimloch, the Hunter of Thrace.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: One of their more prominent enforcers has a scar from forehead to chin that left her partially blinded and likely is part of the reason she wanted to mutiny and quit being a Slayer.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: Aspen is a Slayer who also uses demon magic.
  • Mouth of Sauron: Sonia sometimes speaks on Aspen's behalf while hiding in another dimension and getting reports and requests from allies through portal messages (during which time she is mocked for wearing an ominous "Sith Lord cloak" while doing so due to her cold surroundings).
  • The Mutiny: Due to I Just Want to Be Normal angst, feelings of mistreatment, and most of them being too young to have taken part in the events of season 7 (where they would have seen the forces of evil at their most dangerous and Buffy in a more relatable position than she subsequently was), they revolt against the other Slayers and banish them to another dimension (accidentally killing a few in the process, to most of their distress) and find a magical artifact that will absorb their Slayer powers and let them start over. While not unsympathetic to them, the heroes call them out for not even trying to request permission to leave peacefully (due to their hatred of Buffy, Willow, Kennedy, and Rona being a blind spot that convinced them it would be pointless) that they probably would have received, and for putting the people of New Sunnydale at risk of more demon attacks.
  • Only Sane Woman: Vi, their eldest member, understands the risks and consequences of many of their actions better than her friends and eventually defects.
@ Serge Storms
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: In When Elves Attack, Serge tells Coleman that City and Country are only making out because City is horny, never has sex with Serge, and her only other option is the unappealing Coleman. Coleman interprets this as them wanting to put on a Girl-on-Girl is Hot show for his benefit, and Serge halfheartedly tells him to keep thinking that.

@ Serge Storms

  • In When Elves Attack, Serge sabotages the judgment-proof house of a Corrupt Corporate Executive so it will collapse and his victims can sue him for his non-judgement-proof insurance check.

For Tekken Magnificent Bastard

  • Kazuya Mishima started off as a young boy kicked off a cliff by his father Heihachi after trying to avenge his mother which left him twisted and filled with the need for vengeance. Kazuya trains and eventually defeats his father in the first King of Iron Tournament before converting the Mishima Zaibatsu corporation into a hub of criminal activity. After being killed, Kazuya returned from the dead to try and steal his son Jin's devil gene. Kazuya later usurps control of G Corporation and plans to use it to take over the world. During the war between G Corp and Mishima Zaibatsu, Kazuya pins the destruction of a town he destroyed on Zaibatsu to have the public ostracise Zaibatsu. After killing his father Heihachi, Kazuya now aims to create a world where only the strongest rule. Kazuya manipulates the world into going to a new King of Iron Tournament by threatening their countries with destruction (though he instead plans to simply pose harsh sanctions on them) and uses it to gather the heroes so he can unseal Azazel, defeat Azazel and absorb his powers to gain godlike abilities. Even when his powers are lost, Kazuya refuses to back down in his fight with Jin showing tenacity and charisma even to the end.

  • Tekken 8: Reina is the youngest child of Heihachi Mishima and seeks to avenge his death by Kazuya. Reina is the child to take the most from Heihachi and is a conniving schemer who worms her way into the 8th King of Iron Tournament. Reina plays as a ditz in order to get close to Jin and discover how to activate the powers of the devil gene. Discovering from Jin that the powers activate in Mishima descendants through near death experiences, Reina infiltrates his group and later puts herself into the path of Kazuya's attack to be reborn as the newest Devil.

  • Lee Chaolan is the adoptive son of Heihachi Mishima and the former archrival of Kazuya. Rising from Hong Kong orphan, Lee becomes Kazuya's secretary and secretly plots to overthrow him. When Heihachi defeated Kazuya, Lee was kicked out and reinvented himself as a stylish, charming mastermind. Lee founds Violet Industries and makes a fortune through the company. Lee later infiltrates the fourth king of Iron Tournament as "Violet" in order to defeat Kazuya for good. When defeated, Lee simply bides his time and takes advantage of moles he has planted in both G Corp and Mishima Zaibatsu in order to profit off the war. Sensing an opportunity to defeat the Mishimas for good, Lee funds Lars Alexander in his rebellion against them, while planning to backstab him for control of the world. Lee also helps to keep Lee close by helping to save Jin Kazuma by tricking Nina Williams into releasing him to Lee. Eventually impressed by Lar's genuine nobility, Lee decides to help him sincerly and save the world.

Main.Grandfather Clause:

  • Although Apple has retired their iconic "i" naming convention from their newer devices since 2015 due to recurring trademark issues from companies that also use the "i" gimmick, most Apple products that predate the Apple Watch (like the iMac, iPodnote , iTunes, iPhone, iPad, and iCloud) continue to use the "i" theme today, as their names have become too iconic and associated with the products in question to change.

FranchiseOriginalSin.Batman:

  • One of the fiercest criticisms Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League received was Captain Boomerang and Harley's nonchalant, taunting, and disrespectful attitude towards killing the Flash and Batman, respectively. However, this has always been the case as early as Arkham Asylum, as this was how the villains acted toward Batman whenever the player gets a game-over. While this was perfectly harmless in the Arkham games since they were meant to be humorous non-canon game-over screens, fans took greater issue with it in KtJL, since it is canon, with fans finding their undignified deaths far less forgiving as a result.

BrokenBase.Other Media:

  • eBooks/eReaders or traditional books. Some readers prefer the convenience of eBooks since it's easier to take them on the go and read them at any time, while also not taking up physical space like books do. Traditional readers, however, prefer the feel of reading pages of a real book over swiping a screen and argue that eBooks are not as engaging as real books, not to mention other benefits like the resell factor and lack of annoyances like online DRM. For what it's worth, scientific studies appear to back physical books as well.

YMMV.Little Witch Academia:

  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Akko is intended to be sympathetic and relatable, being a Butt-Monkey who struggles to gain any progress compared to her classmates, but between her tendency to cause trouble for others, her childish and occasionally brattish attitude, and her initial refusal to study and understand magic, some viewers ended up agreeing with the older professors and Diana that Akko has no place in Luna Nova. It doesn't help that the series often glosses over Akko's Hidden Depths, making it difficult to relate to her.

Jurard:

  • In his Pamali stream, Jurard spends a good chunk of time being scared out of his mind. Special notice go to when, after hearing a noise while reading a magazine about the supernatural, he lets out an extremely high-pitched screech comparable to that of a tea kettle.

Goldbullet:

  • Goldbullet's meeting with Sarah:
    • Goldbullet's immediate reaction to her after her introduction is pure dread and exhaustion, with him realizing his in for a bad time.
    • After Sarah mistakens Lailani as a tan Japanese girl and bombards her questions, Goldbullet pauses the stream and lets a muffled Cathartic Scream in frustration for Sarah's actions and tone.
    • One of then options during his conversation with Sarah is about "panties in vending machines" in Japan. He doesn't believe it until his chat starts telling him it is true. He searches it up and ends up shocked and then going completely silent.
    • Considering Sarah's annoying nature making Lailani nervous and uncomfortable, Goldbullet questions how they are able to be compatible in the fist place.

Hello I have some more trope entries, I'd like to have checked for spelling and grammar errors.

South Park

  • Everyone Has Standards: Kyle may have been Arch-Enemies with Cartman during their childhood and the original future, but even he is sad seeing Cartman grow up to be a friendless, miserable, and homeless alcoholic.
  • Jaded Washout: Once a manipulative Child Prodigy who had the happiest future in the original timeline, Eric Cartman grows up to be a bitter, drunk, homeless, and miserable bum whose done nothing with his life beyond angrily cursing at people.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Seeing Butters get horrendously beaten while everyone just watch is bad, but learning that the person beating up Butters is a Girly Girl and her reason for beating up Butters is because he told her to go fuck herself is hilarious.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

  • It's Personal with the Dragon: Rhino may have become The Dragon to Simon Krieger, but the former is still regarded as Miles Morales’ Arch-Enemy due to being his most reoccurring nemesis, while Miles doesn’t have much of a personal conflict with Simon beyond learning that Simon’s is the reason why Miles’s friend Phin has become the villain, The Thinker.

Trolls Band Together:

  • Big Brother Instinct: John Dory grabs Bruce by the hand so he won't get pink eye like his wife and kids.
  • Character Development:
    • John Dory starts being insensitive to his brothers feelings and is obviously to notice how upset they were at him for his obsession for perfection, but does care about them. John Dory also believes that his brothers are better off without him, thinking he can't fix the damage he caused. However, during his adventure with his brothers, John Dory learns that it isn't too late to fix your mistakes and realize that he is wrong about his brothers not needing him, especially when he realize how lonely Branch was growing up. Also, John Dory learns to consider his brothers feelings and they are perfect just the way they are, even giving their interest a chance.
    • Bruce and Clay start out by trying to leave the images they had when they were in the band behind them. However, they learn that their image from their band days will always be a part of them and can balance both sides of themselves.
    • Branch learns that its okay to open up to those he love and cares about, especially to Poppy and his brothers.
  • Heartwarming
    • Poppy has been a big impact on Branch's brothers, as she help the three oldest brothers see how much Branch cared about them, which help them see through their mistakes. Poppy also indirecting helps Branch realize that his brothers are still family no matter what and it doesn't matter if it isn't perfect, as along their together.
  • Ironic Echo:
    • Upon finding out about Floyd's capture, Bruce:
Bruce: What! Well then what are we waiting for. We need to call the authorities.
    • Later, after finding out the same situation with Floyd, Clay:
Clay: Why haven't you guys just call the authorities.

Thanks

@ Agent Cody Banks

  • Signature Scene:
    • Agent Ronica Miles strolling into a boys locker room to activate Cody for his mission, the nanobot kill, and the chaotic driving class are the most discussed and iconic scenes of the first film.
    • The scenes with the exploding Mentos are the most frequently remembered scenes of the second movie, particularly when Cody humiliates himself by mistaking a regular mint for one of those Mentos, and Derek uses his chef skills to cut the precise amount of Mentos to cause a non-fetal explosion to remove a mind control device implanted in Cody's tooth.

@ Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)

Aang will meet a descendant of Kuzon (like if the Gaang still ends up undercover at a Fire Nation school).

The unusual ages that Sozin and/or Azulon started families at will be explained or retconned.
  • Either there will be an additional generation between them or one of them lost his original wife and child/ren to something like an assassination attempt or natural disaster and had to remarry in his old age to ensure the survival of the bloodline.

@ Babylon 5

  • Mr. Reno from "Signs and Portents" is a professional "finder" of long-missing people and objects (including an important Centauri relic Londo is after) who hints at having a great deal of resourcefulness and code of professional conduct that keeps him from ever getting excited no matter what the significance of an object is. However, his ominous comment that You Don't Want to Know how he found the relic could also mean he is the Villain of Another Story during at least some of his searches.

@ Watchers and Slayers

  • Ms. Fanservice: She wears a cutoff top beneath her jacket, and her navel and lower back get a bit of focus in multiple shots.
  • Nice Girl: She is polite and grateful to Caleb for giving her a ride prior to learning of his evil nature.

    Sadie
One of Kennedy's subordinates in the The Next Generation timeline. She is the only Slayer found alive in the rubble after a mysterious explositon at a gathering of activated Potential Slayers seventeen years after season 7 (although it eventually turns out that many others are alive).
  • Badass in Distress: Despite the endurance of the Slayers and her years of experience fighting evil, her injuries are bad enough to leave her hospitalized for months.
  • Big Eater: Oz describes her as having a "good appetite."
  • The Ghost: She is repeatedly mentioned but never seen throughout the first two books of the trilogy.

@ Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) S1E1 "Aang"

  • Men of Sherwood: The village kids Sokka has been training aren't too impressive a sight, but do manage to use their weapons and training to delay the Fire Nation without suffering any casualties (although that probably would have changed if Aang hadn't given himself up).

@ The Creon

  • While most Redwall books feature Starscreams among the villainous factions, pirate first mate Slitfang from Triss is fiercely dedicated to his captain, Plugg Firetail, and ignores multiple opportunities to betray him. Slitfang's attitude is likely because almost every other villain with power in the series will torture or kill henchmen over minor slights, inspiring plenty of animosity among their men), while Plugg is A Father to His Men who never does anything worse than kick one bumbling pirate in the rear.

@ Redwall

  • Does Mokkan the Marlfox really think, rightly or wrongly, that all of his siblings are willing to kill each other for their inheritance, or is he just saying that to justify his betrayal to himself, and/or to stir paranoia and discontent among the others? Aside from Lantur plotting against the others and Ziral trying to strike at Mokkan with an axe as he discusses his belief that only one of them can survive (which she could have seen as self-defense), the other siblings seem to get along fairly well for Redwall villains.

@ A Nightmare on Elm Street

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The suggestion from the first film that defeating Freddy can resurrect his victims is something some fans would have liked to be real rather than All Just a Dream to find a way to save the colorful supporting casts of victims in films 3-6.

@ Reacher

The other four DEA agents besides Duffy, Elliot, and Villanueva will be given expanded roles or Adapted Out in season 3.

@ Star Wars Legends

  • Hutt Egomaniac Hunter Parella is entertaining in his two appearances (a short story focused on him and a book where he only briefly appears) due to being hammier and more martially-inclined than many of his fellow Hutts.

@ John Putnam Thatcher

  • Placid old banker Thatcher shows some Hidden Depths by impressing some much younger people with Rumba dance moves at a party.

@ La La Land

  • Tough Act to Follow: The infectiously lively "Another Day of Sun" opening music number can actually make it harder to enjoy the rest of the show due to how few of the other numbers can compare to it and how none of the interesting and likable singers from it show up again.

@ Batman: Dark Victory

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Why does Lauren Wilcox, who is later established as a Dirty Cop, urge Gordon to shoot Two-Face when he has a gun to her head and will likely take her with him if he is shot? Is she just playing a part while being confident that either Two-Face will surrender or Gordon won't be able to shoot his old friend? Is she that devoted to her Falcone employers (who hate Two-Face)? Or is she making a brief effort at atonement for her crimes?
  • The Un-Twist: The Mole in the Five Families is Mario, the one member already established as being opposed to their continued criminal endeavors.

@ Batman: Supporting Cast

  • Face Palm: In Dark Victory, he puts a hand to his face during an Oh, Crap! moment when he realizes that he's been out celebrating St. Patrick's Day hours later than he'd told his wife he'd be home.

@ No Blade of Grass

  • Hero of Another Story: In the novel, the heroes listen to a radio broadcast by a group of people who overthrew the government to stop its Nuke 'Em plans to solve the food shortage and end the quarantines, cancel the bombing plans, and try to gather and ration food for everyone in the "Dunkirk spirit," although the characters are pessimistic about the new government's competence and chances of success.

@ Batman: The Long Halloween

  • Falcone's daughter Sofia is his loyal enforcer in both versions, but is less secure about having his approval (even seeming afraid of him in one scene) and more willing to question him in the movie. Falcone is a bit shorter with Sofia and also refuses to rely on her too much to avoid looking weak. This is a lot tenser than their comfortable working and family relationship in the comics.

@ Batman: The Long Halloween

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Sofia Falcone only appears in part 2, in a supporting role, but is one of the more popular characters for retaining her comic counterpart's formidability while also getting a little more vulnerability to her character and not ending up as the Hangman Killer in the aftermath of the Long Halloween due to her Death by Adaptation.

For FanPreferredCouple.Western Animation:

  • DuckTales (2017): Fenton is canonically paired with Gandra Dee, but, while that has its fans, it is far more popular to pair him with his boss Gyro, due to how much Fenton tries to win Gyro's approval and these fans feeling that they have better chemistry.

Any corrections?
