@Arivne got it, thanks.

Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Villains

Ivan Ooze

  • Faux Affably Evil: Ivan acts like a friendly guy, even giving a high five to Goldar, but underneath he is Ax-Crazy and ill tempered, threatening to kill Goldar for touching him, and after deciding he no longer needs the adults he brainwashed, he orders them to commit suicide.
  • Laughably Evil: While Ivan is pure evil, he is also a total goofball who revels in his own villainy to such a degree it is impossible not to laugh at his antics.

Cyclopsis

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Its initial fight with the Zords is a one sided beatdown until the Rangers form the Ultrazord and destroy it. As Titanis is unavailable in the second fight, Cyclopsis deals out an even worse beating that sees the Megazord lose an arm and the Dragonzord lose half its tail. In round three, the Megazord is still no match for it.
  • Final Boss: In all of the video games based on the show's first season, Cyclopsis serves as the final opponent. The exception is the Gameboy game, where it does not appear and Rita is the last boss.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: It packs missile launchers built into its shoulders. These put the Megazord and Dragonzord Battle Mode down for the count.
  • Wrecked Weapon: In the final fight with Cyclopsis, the Dragonzord breaks both of its blades.

Serpentera

  • Adaptational Badass: In Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Shattered Grid, Serpentera doesn't have the problem of running out of power when it is on the verge of victory and destroys multiple Megazords.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Jason tries to fight Serpentera with the Red Dragonzord in the Rangers' first encounter with it and quickly realizes he is in over his head and has to hide in Tor. He only escapes because Zedd clutches the Idiot Ball and lets him go.
    • When Zedd brings Serpentera to Earth after the Rangers defeat Pachinko Head, it defeats the Thunder Megazord with a single blast and reduces it to the Red Dragonzord. Once again, the Red Dragonzord only avoids getting crushed by hiding in Tor, and Tor only survives because it suddenly drains most of Serpentera's power.
    • In the Boom comics, under the control of Lord Drakkon, Serpentera destroys three Megazords with a single blast and takes out another by swallowing it.
  • Demoted to Extra: Not in terms of screen time, but in terms of role. Its Sentai counterpart, Daijinryu, was the biggest threat in Dairanger, and his presence resulted in the heroes' mentor plotting to appease him by seeking an alternative method to ending the series' conflict. In Power Rangers, Serpentera simply acts as a giant robot used by the Big Bad in attempts to kill the heroes, and its only significant contribution is being used as a glorified car.
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap: Serpentera is unstoppable at full power. The only thing keeping it from destroying the Rangers is it running out of power when it is about to win.
  • Giant Equals Invincible: Serpentera dwarfs the Megazords, and they have no chance of beating it.
  • The Juggernaut: As long as Serpentera is charged, nothing can stop it. All the Power Rangers can do is run. Barring its Villain Decay in Wild Force, the only time it has been defeated is in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Shattered Grid, when it is attacked with a Megazord that is as big as it is.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

Emil Castagnier

  • Asshole Victim: Ratatosk murders Richter's best friend right in front of him, then mocks said friend as worthless for being human. Even Ratakosk himself admits he deserved the beating he got from Ritcher.
  • Covert Pervert: Both personalities cannot help but stare at Sheena's chest.

Richter Abend

  • Cassandra Truth: Ritcher spends much of the game saying that Ratatosk is evil. Nobody listens. Ironically, by the time the truth has come out, Ratatosk has undergone a Heel–Face Turn.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Xenk

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He singled-handedly demolishes Dralas' minions without any of them laying a finger on him.

Forge

  • Consummate Liar: Forge is an expert at deception. He turns Kira against Egdin by playing on her concerns, telling her that the theft where Egdin was caught was simply an attempt to earn money. When Egdin does return later, after Forge has him carted off, he lies to Kira, saying Egdin left after being given money.

Sofina

  • Dragon-in-Chief: As Szass Tam cannot act outside of Thay, his plans are only a threat with Sofina carrying them out.

Dralas

  • The Worf Effect: While Dralas proves himself a formidable warrior against Xenk, he is swiftly eaten by Themberchaud, showing how dangerous the dragon is.

Themberchaud

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The minute he shows up, he eats or crushes the warriors from Thay sent to kill the protagonists.
  • Giant Equals Invincible: He is by far the largest creature in the movie, and nothing he is hit with can do more than slow him down.
  • The Juggernaut: Themberchaud is so big he can easily crush or eat any human sized creature he comes across and is far too big to do any real damage to.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He is enormous, and despite his bulk, he can move fast by rolling like a barrel.
  • Made of Iron: Xenk driving his sword into Themberchaud's head all the way down to the handle does little more than annoy the dragon.

Upin & Ipin

  • Anger Born of Worry: Ros always angry toward The Twins. But it mostly because of she worried about their wellbeing or to discipline them. Deconstructed and Played for Drama in episode "Abang dan Akak", where Upin and Ipin snapped at her for her constant anger as they tired to see her abrasive behavior, to the point The Twins outright said they would like to prefer Iz (Mail older brother) as their older sibling rather than her.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Said whatever to see Upin and Ipin react on Ros constant anger and comparing her with Iz, they are still 5 years old children who still learn between right or wrong and not understand of people complex personality since they still has Black-and-White Morality view. Making the Twins see Ros anger equal to being "heartless".

One Piece: Big Mom

  • Karma Houdini Warranty: During the Wano Country Arc, Big Mom's notorious history of terrorizing islands and her own family finally catches up with her. Her decision to pursue Luffy, who had previously humiliated her, to Wano for revenge proves to be a costly mistake. This is because she ends up facing defeat at the hands of Kid and Law, two pirates she had previously dismissed. Additionally, her defeat results in her losing her esteemed Emperor status.

@ Reacher

  • Gone Tomorrow, The Affair and Without Fail all feature mysterious senators who could be given an established history with Reacher with limited tweaking to the dialogue, setting, and timeline if those stories are adapted into the show.

@ Dallas

  • He's Just Hiding: Given how the soap opera setting and how much fans desire a Barnes -Ewing mixing of genes, some people wonder if the twins Pamela miscarries in the revival really survived and were spirited away for some sinister purpose, not unlike a twist from one Knots Landing arc.

@ The Real Ghostbusters

  • Signature Scene: The show has a few moments with a near-legendary status among the fandom and may even be known by the odd person without much familiarity with the series, or even the franchise.
    • The pumpkin-headed Halloween deity Samhain summons all of the ghosts in the city in "When Halloween Was Forever."
    • The Heroic Sacrifice of the eponymous character in "Drool, the Dog-Faced Goblin."
    • Egon's showdown with his childhood tormentor the Boogieman in "The Boogieman Cometh," especially the moment when the monster's reflection is showing in Egon's glasses.
    • The scene where Slimer saves the Ghostbusters from an attack by their ectoplasmic Psycho Rangers opponents in "Citizen Ghost."
    • The first time Doomsday Door (a talking demonic head on a metal door) announces its ominous mantra when a pair of workers stumble across it in "Knock, Knock."
    • The Fur Against Fang Mêlée à Trois at the end of "No One Comes to Lupusville."

@ Don't Call Me Ishmael!

  • Shipping Bed Death: Some fans feel that the awkward Moment Killer scenes and Will They or Won't They? between Ishmael and Kelly in the second and third books are less interesting than their initial cuteness when they first start introducing themselves in the first book.
  • The Woobie: Ishmael's neuroses, Friendless Background (and worries that his first real friend may be terminally ill), constant victimization by bullies, and moments of public humiliation can make him a very sad character, although this lessens throughout the series as he ends each book in a better place than where he was before.

@ Batman: Supporting Cast

  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: They may not normally be the most sensitive and professional guys, but in Batgirl #37, they are very concerned and professional during an apparent child abduction case and show subdued anger and disgust at the victim's mother's bad parenting.
  • The Slacker: Every time they take a case, they keep their eyes peeled for any sign of the slightest superhero or supervillain connections to what's going on, and the moment they find it, they cheerfully make the Major Crimes Unit take over the case for them.

@ JLA Exterminators JLA Exterminators is a 2004 DC Universe novel by Christopher Golden. Things are business as usual for the Justice League of America when they find themselves dealing with a massive influx of new metahumans, most with heroic inclinations, and all of whom originate from the United Kingdom and are gaining powers due to the aftermath of one of the Justice League's first battles, with a sinister alien force that dispersed mysterious substances after being defeated. The JLA members investigate the origins of the phenomena and make friends and allies among the new metahumans. However, most of those new allies start abruptly dying or disappearing before it becomes clear that their new superpowered states are only a transitory phase before they mutate into dangerous, rampaging creatures that threaten the whole globe. The JLA is left combatting the threat, which their founders feel responsible for creating, while also trying to save the last of their new friends as he barely hangs on to his humanity.

Tropes in the book

  • Blessed with Suck: Among the new metahumans are a retiree with clairvoyance and a doctor with Healing Hands. Both of them feel a sense of great responsiblity to use their powers to help people, but the doctor starts feeling overcome by the number of people who need his help, while the retiree is upset at how she has to tell some of their friends that she sees death in their near future. And then, they presumably mutate into mindless parasites offscreen like most of the other new superheroes.
  • The Cameo: Several other groups of heroes, like the Teen Titans, the Justice Society of America, and Young Justice, briefly appear in the last act, fighting some of the rampaging monsters.
  • Glory Seeker: One of the more villainous new metahumans is a former R.A.F. pilot with an undistinguished record who uses his black hole-creating powers to attack Buckingham Palace, demanding a knighthood from the Queen. However, whether he's a mere narcissist or a Shell-Shocked Veteran is unclear.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: A lot of focus is spent on Ian Partington, a new hero who wants to help the Justice League save people without becoming a full-blown costumed crimefighter, befriends the Flash and Green Lantern, and fights his mutation in the second act. He survives the book but loses his powers at the end, returning to his old life.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: One of the new metahumans is a woman who lost her son in IRA related violence and summons a golem to seek revenge before being talked down.
  • Serial Killer: Martian Manhunter and Bryan Francis track down a man who has been murdering homeless people for the past several months.

@ Teen Power Inc.

  • What Measure Is a Mook? In Green for Danger, an unnamed petty crook robs the gang's latest client, briefly threatens them during his escape, and then dies when his panicking partner crashes their getaway car. Most of the gang is bothered by the man's death, while Nick expresses No Sympathy and is more concerned with the devastating financial loss of the robbery victim, a family friend. However, Nick does eventually let himself feel bothered by the man's fate and wonders if the getaway driver (who escaped) and the dead man were friends and the driver is traumatized about what happened or is more concerned about having one less person to share the loot with.

@ Hawaii Five-0

  • Ensemble Dark Horse
    • August March is only in two episodes, but is a popular Rogues Gallery member for his manipulative tricks and how his actor is reprising a role from the original series.
    • Serial arsonist Jason Duclair only appears four times, but greatly intrigues many fans through a combination of his terrifying pyromania and occasional Noble Demon moments.
    • Retired FBI profiler Alicia Brown is only in six episodes but is one of Steve's more popular love interests.
    • One-Shot Character mob hitman Nick Mercer has a surprisingly big following due to his Fanfic Fuel rich Backstory as The Atoner who has been faking the deaths of his recent targets and setting them up in new lives with his own Underground Railroad.
    • It's only in Season 7 that Duke gets a Promotion to Opening Titles, but his role as a Mauve Shirt Cool Old Guy who is played by a star of the original show makes him extremely popular.
    • Gerard Hirsch only makes a few appearances per season after his debut, but his role as a reformed criminal with a goofy crush on Kono makes him pretty popular.

@ The Chosen (TV series)

    Lazarus

Lazarus

Portrayed by: Demetrios Troy
A childhood friend of Jesus who lives in the neighboring town of Bethany and is one of his few believers among the people who have known him that long.
  • Adaptation Origin Connection: The Bible never mentions how long he has known Jesus but here, they played together as toddlers.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: He is a humble, goofy, caring guy, but he is prepared to physically defend Jesus from a large mob until Jesus convinces him it is unnecessary.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero!: He convinces the local rabbi to let Jesus make a public sermon about his teachings, which nearly gets Jesus killed by people who assume he is a false prophet.

@‘Sophie Scholl: The Final Days

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The movie never shows just how grand the White Rose was in plans and membership, as in real life, they were reaching out to set up leaflet-distributing cells in other cities and had contact with larger Resistance groups who told them there was plot to kill Hitler underway. Mentioning all of this before Sophie and the others are arrested could have been used to reframe a lot of her scenes by showing that even as the Gestapo case against her was growing, she was still managing to avoid revealing a lot of important information to her interrogator.

@ What's New, Scooby-Doo?

  • Gentle Giant ex-wrestler the Humungous Hammer only has a few scenes but is a very fondly remembered suspect.

Isekai Quartet E 2 Tension Introductions

  • Dumbass Has a Point: Aqua assumes that Ainz is evil and tries to kill him. While she is jumping to conclusions based on him being undead, she is right about him being evil.
  • Man of Kryptonite: Like in her own series, Aqua is walking kryptonite to the undead. Ainz learns this the hard way when her Turn Undead nearly kills him despite him being immune to spells of its level. Shalltear is also knocked by the attack just by being near it.
  • One-Hit KO: Aqua's Turn Undead knocks Shalltear simply because she was near the blast.
  • Tempting Fate: Ainz assumes that Aqua's Turn Undead is too level a spell to hurt him. He is Instantly Proven Wrong when he is nearly killed by the attack.

Isekai Quartet E 8 Prepare Field Trip

  • Bullying a Dragon: Shalltear attempts to kill Aqua after hearing her mock women who pad their bras, forgetting that Aqua knocked her out with a single blow in a previous episode. No fight breaks out since Albedo restrains Shalltear.

Isekai Quartet E 10 Join In Rivals

  • Invincible Hero: Discussed when Subaru states that Reinhard is likely the strongest person in his world thanks to his ludicrously Long List of Divine Protections. When a flabbergasted Ainz asks how someone is supposed to defeat Reinhard, Subaru admits he has no idea.
  • Long List: When Subaru explains Reinhard's 'Divine Protection,' the list of things it protects him against covers the entire screen for several seconds. He doesn't even get through all of it because Ainz interrupts him, asking how someone is supposed to defeat Reinhardt, to which Subaru explains he has no idea.

Isekai Quartet S 2 E 3 Uh Oh Detention

  • Even Evil Has Standards: The mere presence of Kyouhukou in this universe is enough to frighten the other Villain Protagonists from Overlord. They do not actually meet him in the episode. Just being in the same school is enough to give them a bad feeling.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Kyouhukou's punishment for disobedient students is so terrible that even DARKNESS, who delights in any form of physical or emotional abuse inflicted on her, is horrified by it.

Isekai Quartet S 2 E 4 Pinch Test Of Learning

  • The Fool: Par the course for Ainz. He gets a perfect score on a test he did not know a single answer to by dumb luck.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Ainz considers it unfair that the test is too hard for him to pass. He admits he wouldn't have made it easy if he designed it, but he doesn't like it because he has to take it.
  • It's All About Me: Ainz dislikes that the test is too hard for him simply because he has to take it. He wouldn't have gone easy on anyone if he designed it.

Isekai Quartet S 2 E 5 Work Hard Valentines Day

  • Did Not Think This Through: Albedo, Aura, Mare, and Shalltear give Ainz chocolate, forgetting that since he is a skeleton, he cannot eat food.
  • Evil Is Hammy: Even with the various hammy characters in this crossover, Betelgeuse is the absolute hammiest of all. His introduction has him start slowly talking like a normal person before his volume builds and builds. He spends most of his scenes with NO INDOOR VOICE.

Isekai Quartet S 2 E 6 Clash Dodgeball

  • Serious Business: Ainz and Tayna get into a fierce argument about food toppings. Ainz cannot even eat, and he still considers it a serious matter.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 1 E 10 The Jade Monkey

  • Cruel Elephant: Jade briefly turns Tohru into an elephant during the fight over the Monkey Talisman.
  • Did Not Think This Through: In the fight over the Monkey Talisman, Jade thinks it is a brilliant idea to turn Tohru into an elephant. Jackie lampshades this as Tohru attempts to trample him.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 1 E 12 The Tiger And The Pussycat

  • Blood Knight: Yang Jackie loves getting into fights, so much so that Yin Jackie convinces him to help rescue Jade with the promise of fighting more bad guys.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 1 E 13 Day Of The Dragon

  • Better the Devil You Know: As horrible as Shendu is, Uncle angrily states that the plan was only to stop him, not kill him, because, with his death, there is a void for a new evil to fill. An evil that could be stronger than Shendu.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Uncle provides a spell that allows the talismans to be removed from Shendu even though he is not a statue. Despite Jackie managing to steal the Ox, Shendu overpowers him.
  • The Juggernaut: Shendu cannot be defeated while he has all the talismans, so Uncle uses a spell that allows Jackie to steal the talismans from the demon's body. Jackie initially appears to win by blasting Shendu with the dragon talisman, but as long as Shendu has the dog and horse talismans, he is immortal and has a Healing Factor. Ergo, physical harm means nothing to him, and he can only be defeated by stealing the rat or tiger to turn him back into a statue.
  • Magic Must Defeat Magic: The Trope Namer thanks to Uncle, explaining that a fully powered Shendu cannot be brought down by conventional weaponry.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Shendu overpowers Jackie and nearly throws him into the portal his army of dragon minions are about to enter through before Jade intervenes.
  • Shooting Superman: Double Subverted. Captain Black and his men attempt to attack Shendu with rocket launchers, but Uncle stops them, pointing that "Magic Must Defeat Magic." When Jackie steals the dragon talisman from Shendu, he shoots a hole in him. Everyone assumes Shendu is beaten, forgetting that he has the Horse Talisman, so the injury instantly regenerates.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 2 E 6 The J Team

  • Kryptonite Factor: Touching objects forged of good magic like the Pan'ku Box harms Shendu, hence why he needs the Dark Hand to carry the box for him.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 2 E 7 Jade Times Jade

  • Did Not Think This Through: Jade casts a duplication spell on Uncle's most valuable vase. Aside from botching it, when Uncle berates Tohru for the spell (assuming he cast it) he shows that duplicating a rare item in his shop is not inherently a good idea since all the duplicates of his vase make it worthless.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 2 E 9 Rumble In The Big House

  • No Honor Among Thieves: Despite the Demon Sorcerers forcing Shendu to go about freeing them, Xiao Fung only wants to free Shendu and Valmont so he will not be stuck with the job of releasing his siblings himself, showing that despite berating Shendu for his treachery that they are still self serving.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 2 E 12 Showdown In The Old West

  • Combat Pragmatist: Mayor Valmont attempts to kill Sheriff Jackie with a shotgun rather than fighting him hand to hand. He is only stopped because the peddler melts his gun.
Jackie Chan Adventures S 2 E 13 Queen Of The Shadowkhan
  • Did Not Think This Through: Evil Jade tries to read the demon archive but doesn't understand a word of it. Her idea to understand it is forcing Shendu to read it, not anticipating betrayal from him.
  • Manipulative Bastard: When Evil Jade sends the Shadowkhan to bring Shendu, he allows them to take him without resistance and pretends to act as her subordinate to turn her against her loved ones while he steals the Demon Archive.
  • Treacherous Advisor: Shendu pretends to act as Evil Jade's subordinate so he can steal the Demon Archive.

Thanks

@ Grown Ups

  • The Chew Toy: In the first movie, he gets in an accident while zip-lining and ends up in a full-body cast and accidentally gets shot in the foot with an arrow.
  • Dirty Old Man: He is in his fifties but doesn't hesitate to grope a pregnant woman while asking to feel her baby.
  • Hidden Depths: The sequel reveals that he is capable of (limited) professionalism and dapper dressing while acting as the local driving instructor.

@ JLA Exterminators

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Most of Ian's fellow new metahumans (Nigh-Invulnerable detective Bryan, pyrokinetic Country Mouse Julia, the grieving mother who makes a golem, a doctor with Healing Hands, the teenaged teleporter, the clairvoyant retiree, etc.) have cool powers and have powerful interactions with JLA members who either fight alongside them or are sympathetic to their situations. It would have been interesting to see the team fighting to save all of them from mutating along with Ian (or have more progress in trying to cure specific mutants whom they'd bonded with) throughout the whole book. Unfortunately, none of them make it to the final act, and those who mutate are barely, if ever, mentioned by name afterward.
  • Unexpected Character: The original Young Justice team roster makes an appearance even though their series had definitively wrapped up (with some of the characters retiring from hero work) over a year before this book came out.

@ Day of the Dead (1985)

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: It would have been nice to have at least a couple of scenes devoted to the mechanics, potential applications, and chances of success of Fisher and Sarah's attempts to Find the Cure! for the zombie apocalypse (which could have been neatly contrasted with Logan's work), but their experiments are mostly, if not entirely, offscreen and are only briefly discussed.

@ Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  • Molly links up with the heroes at the same time as Kennedy and could have been used as a decent Foil to her due to their shared introduction, different class backgrounds, Molly being the nicer of the pair, and Molly killing a vampire before any of the other Potentials. However, she is absent from several episodes between her first and last appearances, only plays minor roles in several of her episodes, and loses some gravitas due to her Fake Brit actress having to give her a highly noticeable bad accent.

@ Morning Glory

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Does Jerry hire the inexperienced Becky due to thinking that she has the right perspective to drag Daybreak Back from the Brink, or is he just looking for a convenient scapegoat for the show's seemingly inevitable cancellation?
  • Moe: Becky's occasional moments of being a spaz, her Ascended Fangirl attitude about her job, and her passionate but nervous arguments about ways to save the show from cancellation make her a very adorable character.
  • One-Scene Wonder: Paul is fired and departs from the movie at the end of his first scene, but his unapologetic Slimeball attitude, Hated by All status, and performer (Ty Burrell) make him a memorable part of the movie.
  • Unpopular Popular Character: Most of the other characters are annoyed with Mike at best for his curmudgeonly attitude, pride over his past journalistic accomplishments, and resistance to reporting puff pieces. Most of the fans, on the other hand, love these traits.

@ A League of Their Own

  • Strawman Has a Point: The smarmy Mr. Harvey's plan to fire women from the teams and various industries once men start coming back from the war to resume their old jobs has definite misogynistic undertones, but he does make a valid point that it would be ungrateful and shortsighted to leave those returning soldiers unemployed after everything they went through.

@ Serge Storms

  • Several of Serge's minor neighbors in Mermaid Confidential and The Maltese Iguana have started spending most of their time listening to The Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead after they gained access to a large amount of medical marijuana and began spending most of their time stoned.
  • Hero of Another Story: Many books have supporting or minor characters who have colorful pasts and are involved in their own adventures that Serge has little to no role in (although some would be more of an Anti-Hero of another story). This is most notable with Serge's neighbors during his brief periods of living in suburban neighborhoods or condos (all of whom are introduced in a rambling tangent alongside other more important characters in each book).
    • The minor neighbors in Triggerfish Twist include an inventor who has spent twelve years building a plane in his garage.
    • The Atomic Lobster neighbors include two men in Witness Protection and a Genocide Survivor turned plastic surgeon.
    • The Bit Character condo dwellers in Mermaid Confidential and The Maltese Iguana include board game tournament champion Jen-Jen, Joey (an expelled Scholarship Student football star who was expelled from school for breaking into a chemistry lab) and is on the run to avoid process servers out to make him repay the scholarship funds), Alfred and Hazel (who use fake names for reasons no one is quite sure of), Professor Fontaine (an academic testing how long it's possible to live off of delivered goods without ever stepping out of his apartment), Mr. Kelley (who has spent years faking an injury while being spied on by insurance company detectives) and Sit Aston Neville ("the last heir of an infertile lineage on a cluster of North Sea islands dominated by rookeries").

@ Wonka

  • It isn't too surprising that the only no daydreaming sign shown in the movie is in Galeries Gourmet, as anyone daydreaming there is likely to be an impoverished future competitor of Slugworth and the others, and the fine is just another measure to crush their spirits and make it harder for them to buy a shop. The ordinance also provides a bit of Foreshadowing about the police force that enforces it having a corrupt chief.

@ The Chosen (TV series)

  • "Ears to Hear" has a scene where Andrew and Phillip talk about how they accidentally started a riot with the Parable of the Great Banquet. Judas has a Comically Missing the Point reaction to the part where several of the guests invited to the banquet have excuses not to come. Then he makes a Let Me Get This Straight... summary of all the different reasons that different groups would have taken offense from the parable, as Andrew and Phillip react sheepishly to hearing it put in those terms.

@ Drop Dead Gorgeous

@ Batman: The Brave and the Bold

  • Mr. Miracle only has a few minor appearances, and he and his abusive adoptive father, Darkseid, never meet or even mention each other.

@Arivne got it, thanks.

Shalltear is also knocked out by the attack just by being near it.
  • One-Hit KO: Aqua's Turn Undead knocks out Shalltear simply because she was near the blast.
  • Tempting Fate: Ainz assumes that Aqua's Turn Undead is too low-level a spell to hurt him.

  • The Fool: Par for the course for Ainz. By dumb luck, he gets a perfect score on a test he did not know a single answer to.

  • Better the Devil You Know: As horrible as Shendu is, Uncle angrily states that the plan was only to stop him, not kill him, because with his death there is a void for a new evil to fill, an evil that could be stronger than Shendu.
Ergo, physical harm means nothing to him, and he can only be defeated by stealing the rat or tiger talismans to turn him back into a statue.
Captain Black and his men attempt to attack Shendu with rocket launchers, but Uncle stops them, pointing out that "Magic Must Defeat Magic." When Jackie steals the dragon talisman from Shendu, he shoots a hole in him.

Her plan to understand it is forcing Shendu to read it, not anticipating betrayal from him.

YMMV.The Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom:

  • Broken Base: The reuse of Hyrule field from BoTW has been a point of contention amongst fans and critics. Some don't mind it and are more than happy to explore Hyrule Field again, arguing that the new mechanics and story content, on top of the addition of the Sky Islands and the Depths, more than make up for the reused Hyrule, while others find to be it lazy on Nintendo's part and felt they've should've made an entirely new overworld, arguing that no amount of new content added can hide the fact that it's the same Hyrule with most of the same people and locales, but without any major enough changes and the novelty it had five years ago.

YMMV.Avenue Q:

  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Avenue Q is a off-Broadway musical heavily inspired by Sesame Street. Hilariously and likely by sheer coincidence, it was announced in 2022 that Sesame Street itself would have a off-Broadway musical of its own, which premiered later that year, bringing things full circle.

Trivia.The Secret Of Kells:

  • Extremely Lengthy Creation: Production of the film took 10 years from 1999-to-2009. This is due to Cartoon Saloon's inexperience with making a feature film (their later films wouldn't take as long) and a lack of funding that wouldn't come until the success of side and collaborative projects like their work on commercials, The Triplets of Belleville, and Skunk Fu!

  • What Could Have Been: Being the studio's first film, the film has undergone many changes during its ten year production time.
    • The film was originally meant to be a 50 minute TV special, but it quickly grew to be too ambitious for television and was reworked into an animated film instead. This likely explains the film's short length of 72 minutes.
    • The film's original concept trailer (here) is incredibly different from the final film:
      • Brenden was originally meant to be a teenager rather than a Kid Hero. According to Tomm Moore, he through around a hundred designs before they settled on his final design. He was also originally called "Ben" in concept art from the same time.
      • Aseling is not present at all in the concept trailer and wasn't planned at the time. She wouldn't be added to the film until a couple of years after the concept trailer's creation (around 2002) thanks to producer Didier Brunner, who suggested the addition of a female character in his notes.
      • The art style in the concept trailer is noticeably very different and a lot more realistic than the final film. The art style changed to a more simplified and angler style over time as production progressed as the crew wanted to capture the look of the book that inspired the film.
    • Early concept art of Aselingnote  depicted her with black hair and more wolf-like features, such as fur and a wolf's tail.

  • Working Title: The film was originally titled Rebel: Turning Darkness into Light, before being renamed to Brenden and the Secret of Kells in 2004, and then The Secret of Kells when it was released.

Trivia.Song Of The Sea:

  • Refitted for Sequel: The design of Mac Lir's Faerie dogs is lifted from an unused dog character in The Secret of Kells back when it was known as Rebel: Turning Darkness into Light.

YMMV.Disney Theme Parks:

  • Audience-Alienating Era: Disneyland Park had one from the mid '90s-to-the-early 2000s under Paul Pressler and Cynthia Hariss. Under their direction, several classic attractions would be closed down and replaced by inferior replacements, new rides would be cheap, off-the shelf attractions, the upkeep budget was cut — leading rides to suffer from a lack of maintenance and general upkeep — and the park would place a greater emphasis on shopping and dining experiences, leading to unpopular trends like the inclusion of gift shops after exiting a ride. This is largely blamed on Pressler and Harris being more experienced in retail than in theme parks, and severe cost-cutting measures from then-Disney CEO Michael Eisner. This era ended when successor Matt Ouimet stepped in after Pressler and Harris left in 2002 and 2003, respectively, as he quickly turned things around and cleaned up the park greatly in time for its 50h anniversary.

  • Dork Diaries: A large group of fans online ship Nikki with MacKenzie, despite MacKenzie bullying Nikki and them hating each other. This is mainly due to these fans feeling like the two have good chemistry and the fact that despite being enemies they have a lot in common.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 2 E 32 The Chosen One

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Once Tohru realizes he is not the Chosen One and is therefore allowed to fight, he easily defeats the dark chi warriors almost single handledly.
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: Daolon Wong seeks to kill the Chosen One and has no real motivation beyond being a Card-Carrying Villain who wants to advance the cause of evil.
  • Shut Up, Kirk!: Uncle warns Daolon Wong that he studied under Chi Master Fong, to which the dark chi wizard boasts that he killed Fong. Uncle vows to make the dark wizard pay for that.
  • Never Say "Die": Uncle boasts that he studied under Chi Master Fong. Daolon Wong, in response, brags that he “defeated” Fong, the context meaning he killed Fong.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 2 E 34 The Chan Who Knew Too Much

  • Stupid Evil: The magisters are so paranoid about outsiders learning of their existence that they decide Jackie knows too much just because he saw them in their robes. Despite him insisting he doesn't know anything of value, they keep chasing him and Jade, which causes the two to decide to learn more and thwart the magisters' plans for real.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 3 E 10 A Jolly J Team Xmas

  • Entertainingly Wrong: Jade assumes that Daolon Wong is attacking Santa because he hates Christmas. Uncle explains that the dark wizard instead wants to destroy the good chi that Santa possesses.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 3 E 12 The Ox Head Incident

  • The Juggernaut: Becoming a Dark Chi Warrior makes Hak Foo unstoppable. It takes Uncle using the power of the ox talisman to defeat him.
  • No-Sell: Hak Foo, as a Dark Chi Warrior, is impervious to any attacks by Jackie.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 3 E 16 Tohru Who

  • Cardboard Prison: Despite Valmont being arrested in his last appearance, he is a free man in this episode.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 3 E 15 Re Enter The Dragon

  • Brought Down to Badass: Shendu regains the power of the dragon, pig, and rooster talismans after returning to life, but is still missing the other nine talismans. He is still too powerful for Daolon Wong, and none of the weapons thrown at him by Section 13 can slow him down.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: Daolon Wong revives Shendu with the promise he will get the power of combustion in exchange for bringing the demon sorcerer back to life. Shendu naturally betrays the dark wizard, takes the power of combustion, and steals the power of the two talismans that Daolan Wong previously gained.
  • It's What I Do: After Shendu betrays Daolon Wong, he points out that while he is a noble dragon, he is also a demon sorcerer who is not known for keeping promises.
  • No-Sell: Shendu is met with a hail of weapons fire when he breaks into Section 13. Even without the dog talisman making him immortal and the Healing Factor of the horse talisman, none of the weapons affect him.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Daolon Wong entered a deal with Shendu, a demon sorcerer, and expected the demon to keep his end of the bargain. Shendu even points out that keeping promises isn't his thing.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 4 E 1 The Mask Of The Shadowkhan

  • Benevolent Boss: Tarakudo is respectful towards the Enforcers and forgives them for their defeat. He did strong arm them into working for him, so his treatment comes off more as Pragmatic Villainy.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Tarakudo initially tries to convince the Dark Hand to work for him with the promise of rewards, and when they refuse, he threatens to kill them. Nonetheless, he forgives the failure to obtain the first mask. In all, he prefers to keep his minions loyal.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 4 E 5 The Demon Behind

  • Informed Ability: Ikazuki is supposedly the most feared of the Oni generals and Tarakudo's dragon thanks to his leadership skills. Since he is a mask reanimated by the rat talisman, he spends much of the episode powerless and is an almost literal Butt-Monkey when he gets stuck on Finn's behind.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 5 E 12 The Powers That Be Part 1

  • Blatant Lies: Jade denies being afraid of Shendu when she sees him. He isn't fooled.

Jackie Chan Adventures S 5 E 13 The Powers That Be Part 2

  • Abusive Parent: Shendu and Drago's history is never explored, but their interactions imply there is no love loss between father and son. Shendu previously stated he would be proud of his son for taking over the world. Still, once restored, he gladly becomes the biggest obstacle in Drago's path simply because he insists on ruling the world himself. Even when Shendu is willing to save Drago from falling into the Demon Realm, he still insists that his son will be his subordinate, not his equal.
  • Behemoth Battle: A restored Shendu, who is much larger than usual, dukes it out with the giant dark chi empowered Drago.
  • Buried Alive: Tohru fails to escape the collapse of Section 13 and is buried under the rubble. He nonetheless survives.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Showing that Drago is a chip off the old block when Shendu tries to save him from falling into the Demon Realm. Rather than letting his father pull him up, Drago pulls him down instead. This causes Shendu to grab onto Drago while falling, ensuring his son is dragged down with him.
  • Enemy Mine: Shendu, of all people, temporarily works with the heroes against Drago since he feels that Earth is his and his alone to rule.
  • Evil Will Fail: As usual, Shendu insists that the world is his and his alone to rule, to the point where he willingly helps his sworn enemies against Drago, right as his son is on the verge of conquering the planet. Surprisingly, he is willing to save Drago from being trapped in the Demon Realm in exchange for his submission, but Drago tries to pull Shendu down with him, resulting in his father dragging him down as well. The result of the demons' backstabbing and selfish nature is that neither takes over the world, and both are trapped forever.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain!: Shendu attempts to save Drago from falling into the Demon Realm, but Drago proves as treacherous as his father and pulls him down. While falling, Shendu grabs onto Drago and ensures both of them fall. Since the only thing that could stop the two demons is each other, Drago ensured neither would pose a threat again.
  • No One Could Survive That!: Tohru gets buried in the collapse of Section 13. When dug out by Uncle and the Enforcers, he has no lasting injuries.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: In his one moment of decency in the series, Shendu attempts to save Drago from falling into the Demon Realm when his son begs for mercy. This backfires as Drago pulls Shendu down with him.
  • Pet the Dog: In a surprising moment, Shendu is willing to save Drago from falling into the Demon Realm albeit only with the promise of his son remembering Earth is Shendu's to rule. This bites him in the ass as Drago pulls him down with him.
  • Summon Bigger Fish: Drago has become too powerful, so the only way to stop him is to restore Shendu. Uncle knows that Shendu cannot be trusted but has no other options. Fortunately, Drago and Shendu both pull each other into the Demon Realm, where they can no longer threaten humanity.
  • Trash the Set: The Ice Gang breaks into Section 13 and level it.

  • Character Development:Kratos's odyssey throughout Norse mythology can be succinctly described in two words: Be Better.
