Thank you. And here is what should be my last round of tropes for you to edit and for me to post tomorrow.

@ Buffyverse: Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Other Characters

  • Badass Adorable: Nicki manages to stake one vampire during the final battle (albeit while his back is turned) and punches another a couple of times, all the while looking out of place in her prom dress and uttering a girly exclamation of "Ew," after her most notable contribution to the fight.

@ Buffy the Vampire Slayer

    The 1992 Movie
  • Lothos introduces himself in grand Dracula style by opening up his cape like bat wings and slowly levitating down from the roof in front of a shocked victim.
  • The unfazed way Buffy catches a knife Merrick throws at her head during a training exercise.
  • Buffy's first post-training fight with a vampire ends with her throwing a stake into his chest and, after it doesn't go in far enough, driving it in the rest of the way with a flying kick.
  • Unrealistic Mook Chivalry aside, Buffy using her cheerleading flips to get through a whole crowd of punk vampires shows her being level-headed, and combining both her old and new skills to good effect.
  • When Buffy is facing a crowd of vampire prom crashers, things look grim until Pike holds up a bag full of stakes for her to use to cut loose against her enemies, plus his jacket in case she wants to charge into battle in a Hell-Bent for Leather fashion.
  • During the final prom battle, some of the other students start fighting back after being inspired by Buffy and Pike, with Buffy's ditzy former Girl Posse member Nicki and Jerk Jock Andy both managing to kill at least one vampire.
  • In just half of a one-shot comic issue, 1937 Slayer Rachel O'Connor uses pencils as weapons against a vampire, stops a Nazi from smuggling a djinn out of the country, and traps that djinn back in his bottle after he escapes and is about to go on a rampage.

@ Northern Exposure

  • The man Elaine left Joel for (something which she was sad and conflicted about) dies of a heart attack just a year later, and she revisits Joel more for a shoulder to cry on than a desire to rekindle their romance, which leads to a couple of sad early scenes in that episode when Joel isn't feeling sympathetic.

@ The Hindenburg (1975)

  • Magnum Opus Dissonance: In his autobiography, Robert Clary speaks particularly fondly of his performance as Spah, which he thought might win him a Best Supporting Actor Award. The film flopped, and while it has been Vindicated by History, his TV performances are still far better known and regarded than his (admittedly show-stealing) turn as Spah.

@ Hogan's Heroes

  • Munitions man Otto Von Krubner from "Guess Who Came to Dinner?" and Gestapo Major Pruhst from "Hogan's Double Life" may not be either the funniest or most intimidating German officials to visits the camp. Nonetheless, they are both still among the more popular Axis guest stars for having just enough comedy and menace to mix well with their unusual canniness and Pet the Dog moments toward constant Butt-Monkey Klink.

@ Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

  • Man, I Feel Like a Woman: Gender inverted, as, while there is little explicit sexual subtext to it, Bethany is fascinated by the experience of having a penis due to inhabiting a male avatar and even talks to it once or twice.
  • Comically Missing the Point: His difficulty in understanding that Jumanji is the name of the game and not a person is a Running Gag.
  • Adventurer Archaeologist: He is an experienced jungle field guide who knows a lot about ancient temples and is respectful about the potential misuse of the Gem of Jumanji.

Thanks, Arivne.

Characters.Wario Ware (Ashley)

  • Informed Attribute: The English version of Ashley's song implies that she is a tomboyish character, as it describes her as someone who "doesn't play with dolls" and "never combs her hair", with her later saying "who has time for girly things like that". These traits are never shown in Touched! or in future games. In fact, they suggest that she is very girly, given that she only wears dresses, her hair is usually pretty well done, and she carries around a stuffed bunny. This is averted in the Japanese version of her song, which doesn't suggest anything of the sort.

So in Characters.Trails Series Rean Schwarzer! His Aesop Amnesia entry has defense changed into defence. I looked it up and it means the same thing, so I think it might run afoul of the “first come first serve” rule but I want to ask here for further clarification.

YMMV.Super Mario Kart

  • Broken Base: Does the game hold up today? Many feel the game has aged extremely poorly by modern standards and that there is no reason to play it today outside of nostalgia, citing its slippery controls, cheating CPU, primitive and simple track design, and the reusing of course themes. That said, the game still has its fans who swear by the game today, arguing that the presentation and design still mostly hold up well today, and that while the game is harder to get into than the more modern games in the series due to its Early-Installment Weirdness, it is very satisfying to play once you master its controls and mechanics.

YMMV.Spider Man:

  • Overshadowed by Controversy: It's pretty much impossible to talk about the mainline Spider-Man comics without someone bringing up One More Day and how it had undone several decades of stories by retconning the marriage between Peter/MJ, and how it has effectively tarnished Spider-Man in the eyes of comic fans to this very day.

YMMV.One More Day:

  • Common Knowledge: The event only undid a few key things (Peter and MJ's marriage, Peter revealing his identity in Civil War, and Aunt May's assassination), not everything else as fans accuse it of doing. According to Word of God, everything else prior has been kept intact and mostly left unchanged, including the stories where Peter and MJ were originally married (which are retconned to them being a live-in couple).

YMMV.Marvels Spider Man 2:

  • Like You Would Really Do It: C'mon, did you really think Spider-Man would actually die of his injuries at the abandoned zoo? Especially since Harry had the symbiote on hand ready to switch hosts. Some fans have questioned why even bother with the fake-out death at all.

Pokemon S 11 E 49 Barrys Busting Out All Over

Ash and his group return to Hearthome City for his long-awaited rematch with Fantina, but they encounter an overly hyperactive trainer named Barry who idolizes Paul.

Pokemon S 10 E 40 Top Down Training

Word spreads quickly that the Champion League Master, Cynthia, is in town. Our heroes are excited to meet her, but Paul is also present and eager to challenge Cynthia to a battle. This leads to an important lesson for both the heroes and Paul that they will carry with them.

Thank you Clare. Pleasure to work with you one last time.

And here is a quick trope or two (or so I thought) for Arivne to correct before I log out.

@ Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  • Pike electrified Benny by getting him wet and slamming him into a fuse box.
  • In the comic adaptation of the original movie, Kimberly is a bit less of a useless Beta Bitch in the final fight and smashes a vampire with a piece of furniture, while Jerk Jock Andy eagerly throws himself into the fight and is staking vampires expertly before being Zerg Rushed.

@ Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Buffy's friend Nicki seems slightly nicer than (although just as humorously ditzy as) Jennifer and Kimberly and gets a couple of brief Badass Adorable moments during the final battle. Fans would have liked seeing her have a bigger supporting role and reconcile with Buffy, but she and Buffy never share any dialogue in the final scenes, her contributions to the final fight barely take up about five seconds of the film, and she's the only one of Buffy's friends who might have died in the final battle.

@ Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  • Kimberly may be an unrepentantly mean Valley Girl, but her constant spewing of hilarious lines and being played by a young Hilary Swank win her a lot of fans.

@ Babylon Five

  • Older Than They Think: The show is praised as a trailblazer of serialized entertainment, but some people take that to mean it is the first serialized prime time series. While few of any shows ever had a full five year plan plotted out from the start, non-soap opera television had already produced some notable serialized works like Crime Story, Hill Street Blues, Wiseguy, and certain Doctor Who installments.

@ Babylon Five Telepaths

  • Pet the Dog: For all of his aloofness around normal humans, he does use his powers to help a maintenance worker who he is hiding with during a battle experience the sights a starfury pilot is seeing after the worker admits to being fascinated by pilots.

@ Northern Exposure

  • "Rashomon"-Style: The first time Holling met Shelly (who was dating his friend Maurice at the time) is retold in three different flashbacks. Holling remembers himself being polite to Shelly but only beginning to fall for her after she smiled at him for helping her open a bottle while Maurice was busy. Maurice remembers Holling leering at Shelly from the start and pushing past Maurice to open the bottle for her. Shelly remembers Dave, the dorky counter man, opening the bottle for her while Holling and Maurice were busy and says she and Holling only fell in love at a later meeting.

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew

  • Arbitrary Headcount Limit: Out of the eight crew members, only three of them can join a mission. Justified, as the crew infiltrates the island with a small rowboat.

  • Connected All Along: Late in the story, Afia reveals to Red Marley that she was one of the survivors at the battle of Port Royal who was saved by Mordechai, which inspired her to become a pirate.

YMMV.The Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom:

  • Broken Base: Despite being a direct sequel to BoTW, the game is very standalone, with the only connections it has to BoTW being that it shares the same setting and cast, and some minor Continuity Nods. Naturally, this has divided fans. Some are okay with ToTK being its own thing since it prevents Continuity Lock-Out for those who have not played BoTW, and that it is to be expected since Nintendo tends to avoid having a strong continuity between games. Others find the lack of direct ties to BoTW to be wasted potential while also opening up some glaring plot holes the game doesn't acknowledge, the most notable being what happened to most of the Sheikah tech and why several characters from the first game don't seem to recognize Link.

  • Fanon: While the game doesn't acknowledge Malice and how Gloom is connected to it, the most popular fan theory is that Gloom and Malice are the same substance, with Gloom being a stronger, more concentrated, and more potent form of Malice.

For My Ideal Academia.

  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Endeavor is deadset on forcing Shirou to spill his secret so much that he would fail Shirou on his exam and capture him. However, when Shirou calmly explains his situation, powers, secrets, and the reason he wanted to pass the exam (to help his classmate in the upcoming training camp, which is going to serve as a trap for the League of Villains and a battlefield, even if his powers aren't enough to stop all of them), Endeavor decides to let him go after a test of might. After Shirou passes, Endeavor muses if someone as powerful as Shirou still doubts his abilities, then the upcoming camp needs more help. So, he decides to send all of his agency to help. Also afterward, Endeavor publically supports Shirou and dispels all rumors about Shirou being a traitor.
