And to cement my parade of fanboyism, here's a thread on it.

You know what I love about The Boondocks? I don't have to scream "IT'S SATIRE!" at the top of my lungs to justify what it does.

It also has one of my favorite OPs ever.

The episode where the crazy guy starts the church is now the first thing to pop into my head whenever anybody suggests "hate the sin, love the sinner".

Hell yeah! One of the few genuinely awesome rap theme songs.

The weird thing is, half the incidents on the show remind me of my relatives; my grandmother sneaks snacks into the movie theatre the exact same way, my mother is repeatedly tossed into situations where she's the ultra-lefty deadpan snarker only sane man, and my little sister is obsessed with cheese.

Speaking of my sister, it's painfully obvious that if she ever watches the show she will end up with a crush on Huey; he is exactly her type.

PRAISED BE THE WHITE GOD, AND HIS SON, WHITE JESUS!

My favourite part of boondocks? Aside from Huey, the fact that i got my little brother obsessed with it too. Too bad he's not picking up Huey-ism, more Riley-ism and Ed Wuncler-ism.

Oh no. That is always the danger, isn't it? I mean, Riley's essentially a good-hearted kid with a lot of insecurities and too much energy, but Wuncler's clearly an idiot.

"I am the stone that the builder refused..."

Yep, one of the best theme songs ever. I have both seasons on DVD; I think my favorite episode is "Return of the King," if only for the moment where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. moves to fucking Canada in frustration over modern black culture. Harsh, but I think the fact that people got offended suggests that they doth protest too much.

I thought he was just offended by culture in general. It's hard to forget his public image basically being completely destroyed because he had a reaction to 9/11 besides OFLABBGABBLE KILL THE RAGHEADS.

See you in the discussion pages.

Art style definitely picked come season 2. Also Ruckus has become a very very guilt-stupid-crazy-badass-funny, for aaaall the wrong reasons.

Seriously? *checks* Fuck yes. I thought that the creator had just pissed off too many people with his virulently anti-BET episodes. I am shocked and pleased that they're making more.

I wonder if Huey will travel to Hell to put down Stinkmeaner once and for all.

NEW SEASON?! Fuckitty fuck yes Been following The Boondocks ever since the comic strip and I couldn't begin to think what my favorite episode is. But this has to be one of the best and sometimes underrated Western Animation shows to come out this decade.

I don't know, i like the strip better.

The show has become the very thing the strip used to make fun of.

Season 2 was more of what the strip made fun of, what with it's emphasis on Riley. The difference seems to be the decreased Author Avatar, and when it is, it's not always Huey (see: Gin Rummy, minor characters).

I predict season 3 will have more of either Granddad or Huey, hopefully.

The show didn't stop making fun of Riley, though, even when it was focussing on him. His basketball episode mocked baller culture mercilessly, for example.

Second season had a lot more Uncle Ruckus, if I recall, and Ruckus is a walking indictment of the self-destructive nature of many African Americans.

I would actually like to see more Jazmine and Ceasar. Also Crazy Wolf Bitch Luna should be ressurected and given more episodes.

Nah, Ruckus is simply a self hating black man.Nothing deeper than that.

There's are also people that feel that the show gets the wrong kind of laughs. Same reason Dave Chappelle decided to leave his show.

No, Ruckus is simply a self hating black man.

Uh, isn't that what I said? I mean, the guy gets a reality show on BET where he insults black people constantly.

as a black man (Instant Expert), I find Ruckus to be an example of self-hating, but we should not fully abandon our brothers.

Why yes, he is a self-hating black man.

This is Uncle Ruckus: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonial_mentality

He is a self-hating self-destructive black man.

I can't believe the creators didn't bring up the fighting over skin color (light-skinned vs dark-skinned) any more than those few words Uncle Ruckus says in that 'Black Jesus' episode. Then again that might cause some more drama than necessary. But then again they had that episode on Dr. King calling out the ghetto-ass niggaz in that episode. Among other things. Oh well, there's other seasons =/
