Maybe it's because I'm ignorant, but I think changes in my world-view are more likely to develop well as I think things through on my own and reflect on my experiences. I'll admit that I wouldn't have whatever degree of enlightenment I have without learning about certain ideas, but a lot of times the field of philosophy seems to be brought up for thought experiments more often than anything else. Which, I suppose are interesting enough in their own right, but usually not enough for me to spend my spare time doing research.
It's worth discussing though. But it can be frustrating encountering an idea that is really stupid.
Ruining everything forever.
I find a lot of -isms in philosophy to be overwhelming in number and mostly useless. I don't pay much attention to -isms these days.
My idea of philosophy is loose and unrestrained for better or worse.
I'm hoping for the better.

Though it seems to me that a lot of people don't give a damn about it, I can't help but think about it every day.
