Not Quite Batman
^^ Funny.
Honestly, this doesn't bother me at all. I hope it's good, though I found the first one a bit... meh.

a little bit, DADT was somewhat of a compromise policy regarding homosexuals in the military, enacted during the Clinton presidency. The official policy meant that you couldn't ask if someone was a homosexual ("Don't Ask"), and if someone was they weren't to talk about it ("Don't Tell").
Discussions of the policy and/or its actual implementation are waaaaaay off-topic for this thread, however.

Not to mention really out of date.
Here
is an article about the movie's new trailer.
Here is the Comic-Con trailer:
It is set for 2020 now.
So the big question is: will it be as good as the original?

Hope shines brightest in the darkest times"You should be, at least, a two-star admiral by now. Yet here you are... Captain. Why is that?"

Also since China is funding this movie there are changes made to the jacket. The symbols for Japan and Taiwan have been removed. And again this is why I hate the pandering to the Chinese government.
It's not the end of the world, but it is a question that is kind of concerning. It's stuff like that which makes having, say, openly Gay Characters A LOT harder to include; "What do we do with this big budget film that x, y, z country won't allow because they hate THE GAYZ TM?"
As for the film itself... My honest reaction to the news of a Top Gun sequel and it's trailer is... "This is a thing that exists?". Why does this exist?
I mean, I know the simple answers are greed and our ever growing problem of green lighting reboots and sequels with a supposed "built-in assured audience" rather than newer and perceptively "risky" I Ps that have no such "built-in audience" for them. But... Top Gun? Really?
Between this and Last Starfighter 2, they really feel like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Oh, I will be jumping off the deck, all right.
